Korver

There are not many players in the league who can catch and shoot as quickly as Korver. He seems to have his body under control at any given time. We stand a chance of going far in the playoffs again this year.

Minerman

It'll take another dozen made tre's in each of the games against San Antonio if they want to win that set...and the Jazz need both games if they plan on having even an outside shot at home court advantage in the first round. I, for one, think they can win all of the last six. We tend to do better against great teams on the road (see the crushing we gave Boston in Boston, among many others). I'd rather play the remaining roadies than another game against Minnesota. Do those guys just have our number on the road or what? And is it just me, or is Korver warming up to the rims in ESA? Another perfect night from the 3 line. Go Jazz!

Anthony

The new beat is cool. If it's not Jazz...it must be Jazz Rock!!!

Go Sloan!!!Go Jazz!!!

odogtriever

Lets just hope they play with in the offence. If they have good spacing, make good screens, hard cuts, and timely passes, they can get anything they want. I perfer they use the three when the paint is crowded.

But all this does no good if they do not play defence.

Defence is what gives them easy fast break buckets. defence is when you know they are hustling. Defence is what gives them confidence. And most of all, defence is what breaks the other teams confidence in themselves.

Go defence, go Jazz!!!

@odogtriver

I gueeS You can't teach an odog new trickS. GO DEFENCE. SSS...

Come and knock on our door

We've been waiting for you. Where the kisses are hers and hers and his THREE'S COMPANY TOO. Mr Roper would be proud of the NewJazz. This aint your grandpa's Jazz, but your grandpa would probably like this Jazz, it's the NewJazz, starring Korver as Jack Tripper, Memo as Larry and Jerry as Mr. Roper.

Count on a loss

... at San Antonio at the very least. I'm not one of those who think the Jazz can win every game left. And Friday night against the Spurs is no gimme. That's the first step.

HOW ABOUT KORVER THE MOST UNDERATED TRADE THIS YEAR. HE WAS THE MISSING PIECE FOR THIS YEAR, HIS SHOOTING ABILITIES OPEN'S UP THE FLOOR SO MUCH FOR BOOZER AND MILSAP.

The "Gauntlet" - Last 6 Games

I hope the Jazz approach the "Gauntlet" with determination and some energy and emotion.

Their last 6 are ridiculously hard and MUST win at least 3.

Sammy sez:

My guess is the Jazz will go 4-2 over these last six games. But the real big one is the last game of the season in San Antonio. If the Jazz can finally break that San Antonio hex and win that final regular season game there, that would be a huge feather in their cap going into the playoffs. The magic number to clinch the division over Denver is 4, the Jazz need to seal the deal quickly and secure their spot in the playoffs.

All the success with the 3 point shooting has to be killing jerry. He has fought against the jazz shooting the long ball as an offensive weapon for so long, that it makes him look like a fool that it took him 20 to figure it out. Jerry is 20 years too late, Stocton and Horney should have be shooting way more 3s in their prime, but with a coach like jerry, that wasn't going to happen. John nor Horney are even in the top 3 for individual seasons for the jazz in 3 point attempts. What an idiot sloan was and is!!

Rich

Sloan is Old School, and that's good. How many teams and players have forgotten the important basic of waiting for a rebounder in position before attempting a long jumper? Sloan sure tells it the way it is. Hey, if you're open and you're a good shot from the three-point lane AND IF you have a rebounder in position, go ahead and try. Otherwise, pass the ball and work toward getting somebody on the team a better shot. In the past two games Almond has twice thrown up a shot with no rebounders in sight. He'll learn, however. I think he has the sweetest looking jumper we've ever seen in Utah. Korver and Jaycee Carroll at USU have nice shots, too, and are better shooters right now, but their form isn't as picture perfect. Miles has a beautiful shot and is getting better. Jeff Hornacek had a great shot but it wasn't as silky smooth as Almond's shot. Other great shooters who have played in the Beehive State were Danny Ainge, Tony Brown at USU, Nate Williams when he was at USU, Jeff Hornacek, John Stockton, Bryon Russell for a couple of years and Jeff Malone.

Re: Rich

Don't forget about Jason Goss. He had one of the best looking shots that I have ever seen. His range extended to half court.

Dave

As long as the Jazz outside shots come after the ball has gone into the post and as part of the offense they're ok.....but for example Price thought it was a shootout and just launched a couple that weren't good shots. Both Korver and Memo have learned to find their spots in transition for the 3 but that's a scary thing if we're missing, then it turns into a track meet.

Korver (or the coaches) made a good adjustment and instead of curling at the free throw line and hitting the 15 footer everytime like Harpring, Korver started to extend out and even hit a 3 cutting around the pick on the same play. That's going to be tough to defend if he has the green light to extend to the 3 on that play, because regardless of whether he's 10ft or 25 ft from the basket when he catches and shoots in rythm he's probably shooting 70%.

Don't forget the pump fake, drive and dish off the 3.....we have to have fouls on the other team and that doesn't happen if all we heave are 3's.

Ty

You gotta love it...

I really wish tho that when Boozer or Millsap get people collapsing on them, that they would kick it out to Korver or Memo for 3! After watchin the game last night, that could've happened numerous times!

Phil

I agree with the post above that the recent 3 point raindown is killing sloan. Even when the jazz hit 3s it seems sloan is upset. sloan should just accept this as a huge element to success in the NBA. I hope he adapts to this change, because heaven knows it took long enough.

Sloan

Me do not like Sloans coaching.bad

To Dave:

Thanks Coach.. I'll keep that in mind the next time I shoot a 3! :)
