Comments about ‘Billboard offers 'escape'’

I commend the effort to help those who may feel trapped within polygamous communities. However, it's sad that Living Hope Ministries has, as a core element of it's "ministry" resorted to lying with regard to the LDS community. It has consistently misrepresented the beliefs, doctrines, and history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for it's own evangelical agenda. I can't think of a single anti-evangelical book or DVD by an LDS author, but "Christian" bookstores are packed with this tripe. I doubt this effort is fueled entirely by a Christian love for the Latter Day Saints.

Truth NEVER fears Investigation.

God bless you Doris for what you are doing to help women who are involved in polygmous relationships. How wonderful that you are sending a message of hope thru the Lord Jesus Christ!

I am so glad to see those who are willing to stand up and speak the truth (especially in Utah). Living Hope Ministries is so brave to speak the truth about what most LDS don't even know about their own religion. It is sad that so much deception and hiding goes on in the LDS church. There are so many ex-lds out there who know the truth now. Keep going and helping more to find the truth.

Regarding David's comments regarding A Shield and Refuge. In what way has this organization misrepresented the teachings of the LDS church? Can you state what lies they've told about polygamy and other teachings of the Church? Long after the Church abolished polygamy many mormans continued to practice it in secret. LDS doctrine believes that there will be "plural marriage" in heaven and it is possible to be sealed to more than one during this life. Many LDS believe that it's only a matter of time until polygamy will be reinstated during this dispensation. You may say that the FLDS has nothing in comparison with the Chruch today however these groups practice a truer mormonism that the official church does. I'm sure JS, BY and other earlier membefrs of the church would not recognize the way the Church is run today. One thing for certain--the history of the LDS church is very well documented and if you don't know or believe the LDS past it's only because you're too lazy or frightened to do the proper research.

Shield and Refuge Ministries does wonderful things for people. I just discovered what this ministry provides for "escaping" polygamy and I fully support it. Watch "Polygamy: What Love Is This" on TV 20 Thursdays @ 8:00pm. God Bless Doris and all those who help in the ministry. Research the history on Joseph Smith you will find the truth - he is not and will never be a Prophet of the LORD. GOD is the Alpha and the Omega, that is the truth. He sent his only begotten son to die for our sins - Jesus Christ. The way to salvation is through Jesus Christ. The answers are all in the Bible.
