Both are very talented and should go far.Hopefully this will remain a TALENT contest and not a popularity contest. The past 2 Idol's have given us Taylor Hicks, who can't sell record one,and Jordin Sparks. Sparks was not the most talented last year. That award should have gone to Melinda Doolittle. The competition is a lot tougher this year.
Brook lights up the stage with her musical talents. She sets a wonderful example of a person who holds to her standards and choses to make the world a better place for everyone around her. Brook you are a shining example of what Christ has taught.
Brooke is incredible. What an awesome talent. She is my pick to win the entire thing this year. She has the poise (unlike the sniveling, toe-in-the-sand Archuleta), the beauty, the VOICE!! The entire package!
[I must confess, I thought she was much more interesting before I knew she was Mormon]
I'm certainly not insulting the talent of the dancers. They work hard. They're good. But they don't wear very much clothing. And they wriggle pretty provocatively. I thought that a certain religious group here wasn't supposed to look at stuff like that...
we're talking about "American Idol" not "Dancing with the Stars"....
Re-riddle me this, what dancers? Did I miss an oppertunity to see scantily clad chicks?
Honestly, I really like Brooke. She is really very talented. She is obviously very amature, which is no bad thing, a breath of freash air. I knows she puzzles the judges for being a "real person" I think someone must have advised her not to babble when put under, what must be, a huge amount of pressure in front of the judges. I feel for her discomfort but I hope she goes far.
Just watching video clips, I'd say there is NO competition. Brooke and David are the best by far. I did not like David's song this week though. He has such a fabulous voice. It is too bad they can't sing songs that show it. Brooke was great.
What a joke! Just because there LDS you vote for them, just like Mitt Romney. Right. So about 99.9% of Utah is mormon and 90% of Utah voters were already voting for him, why? BECAUSE HES MOROMON!
Boy, aren't we a little up-tight there Anonymous?
All singers on American Idol aren't good. So I have to vote for the Mormon. Just like the election. Anonymous, is that all you can come up with? Your a typical Mormon basher who would never vote for a Mormon simply because the are one.
It seems as though you comment on every article that has to do with a Mormon and it is obvious that you hate Mormons. It's getting old. If you don't like mormons read something else, but keep your caustic remarks to yourself for a change.
What's wrong with voting for a mormon if you think they are the best one for the job or you think they are best one in a subjective singing competition???
Riddle me that!
anonymous...get past the mormonism. Listen to the singers. I vote for the singing best. I happen to like the way Brooke & David sing. They are in the top 4 for me. I did not recognize the song David sang but I listened to the song, the feeling and the clarity of the singer. He has my vote so far. Find another reason not to like him other than his religion. I agree you need to find another place to make your comments that have nothing to do with nothing.. Go David.
I just listened to both of them on You tube, and they are very talented singers, Mormon or not. I can see why America keeps both of them on the show, Mormon or not.
My guess though, Brook wins, great voice, plus she's smokin hot, Mormon or not!
It's amazing how the judges think Archuleta and White are very talented, in spite of their being Mormons. Most think David is the one to beat this year. The kid can sing.
Brooke, Archuleta, David Cook, and a wild card. Those three are the top of the competition.
I like Brooke, but her song this past week was mediocre.
Despite the opinions of others, I really, really, really liked David's song. He sang it with passion. He again showed his vocal range, and he shouldn't be punished just because we aren't familiar with the song. Great move on his part...
I think David is the most talented singer; his religion is irrelevant in my decision!
Oh my goodness! Riddle me is engrosed in all the things that don't matter versus seeing the good in the people that have done so much to get where they are. After seeing how talented these people are, I didn't even notice what their back-up singers or dancers were wearing! lol
I thought Riddle Me was joking at first, but after seeing she was serious, I'm so dismayed about the arrogant judgment that goes on w/so-called devout mormons that claim to have love? Where'd the love go? Who CARES what they're wearing as long as they're not obscene? I'm Thinking David Cook or Michael have the best chances of winning. David Archeleta nees to have someone choose better songs and Brooke is ok but doesn't have near the star qualities of some of the other performers.
American Idol has NOTHING whatsoever to do with Mormonism, so keep the two separate and distinct shall we? Who knows or cares whether David or Brooke are even 'active' or maybe that they don't believe in it. it just doesn't matter. Perhaps the 11th commandment should be, "Thou shalt keep thy religion to thyself." Then it wouldn't matter what or who you are, you'd have an equal chance to win if you're just good enough.
