Must be some good pitching in this region. First three games saw 84 runs scored. Number 1 ranked Spanish Fork gives up 11 to Loan Peak? What happens when they see decent pitching?
If Raven King is the Ace at Lone Peak why does the coach choose to not start her against better opponents? Quite perplexing?
Lets not fool ourselves this region has very weak pitching from top to bottom. Spanish Fork has arguably the best line up 1-9 in the State but their best pitcher is their 3B. The rest of the region will struggle to get more than 3 games into State.
I agree with "where is the pitching" - obviously not in Region 4. I have never seen such high scoring games - tons of hits and errors - looks like "sloppy" softball to me. Riverton held Timpanogas to 3 runs on Wednesday - and then Timpanogas scores 21 on Thursday - and allows their opponent (PG) to score 16 - wow - not only great pitching - but great defense!!!!!!
I'm impressed with the statements of the above bloggers. You all seem so knowledgeable. Let's put these young teenage impressionable girls in their place. How dare those girls play like they did. What were they thinking? Especially the pitchers! Who cares if they already feel like dirt? They need to know that all of the hours of practice mean nothing and that they are all fair game to grumpy old men (or women) to critique and bash for their own amusement. Who cares if they are not professional atheletes and are playing for the love of the game. That would be silly to encourage them and let them know that these were just the first region games and things will get better as the season progresses. It's now my new goal to learn more and more about the game of softball so I can be included in the blogs as a person who is able to "critique" the playing of young impressionable girls. Watch out girls I'm watching you. You better only have good games or the skills of self control, sportsmanship and the ability to get along with others in the face of adversity will be waisted!
I COULDN'T AGREE MORE!!
BACK OFF THE REDICULE, DO YOU THINK THE PITCHERS AND THE DEFENSES AREN'T TRYING THEIR BEST? IF CERTAIN PLAYERS OR TEAMS AREN'T PLAYING UP TO YOU'RE SPECTATING STANDARDS, GO WATCH ANOTHER GAME!!
