Defense and more defense. Win just win.

Sinan

We will win. Play and win. That's all what we need to win..PLAY TEAMWORK BASKETBALL.
GO MEMO, GO JAZZZZ

Spike

Even without Gasol the Lakers will win. You can't stop Kobe.

Jazz Fan

Spike: That's true. The Jazz can't stop Kobe. I mean, just take our last game in SLC with Kobe.... oh wait, didn't we absolutely destroy the Lakers even without Boozer? ....Yeah...hmm.....
Jazz by 15 tonight.

Go Jazz!!!

Spike - if the Lakers win I'll buy you a burger at Hires (next time I'm in town, which might be this summer, or it could be fall, or....oh just forget it.) But the Jazz will win!

Sloan Hater

"I've never had an answer for Kobe Bryant as long as I've played against him."

I noticed.

Fire/Retire Sloan

lamonte

Sloan Hater - now you're attacking honesty. By his career numbers it looks no other coach has had an answer for Kobe either. Sloan is at least honest enough to admit it. Why aren't you honest enough to admit when you're wrong (like every time you make a comment)? The small market franchise of the Utah Jazz should be ecstatic to have someone with Sloan's talent and dedication. Most Jazz fans are.

It's called Psychology

Sloan is just taking a page from Phil "The Zen Master" Jackson's book. HE used to heap praise on the Jazz back in the day. It builds the other teams ego. Some players read that stuff. Don't look into it too much. Even though it is true, it's much more than just a compliment.

Jazz by 10!

let kobe score all he wants. It is the supporting cast that the jazz need to shut down.

Sloan saying he's never had an answer for kobe is just selling his team short. I thought he had just stated winning is all that he cared about and last time i thought we beat them by 24 . . .

Now it's time to fire Sloan because he hasn't figured out how to stop Kobe? Wow, by that logic, every coach in the NBA needs to fired... Who would the Jazz get to coach then?

UTAH SPAZZ

GO Lakers! HEy jazz fans say what you know best and sputter out comments how you name your kids after former jazz player, but don't say anyhting about the lakers when you don't know what your talking about.

The Jazz will win the game by 10 points. The Jazz will make a statement tonight to the rest of the NBA. Plus this is a top team in the league they are playing against tonight. For some reason the Jazz always seem to get up for the good teams. Heck I'm more worried about Seattle on Saturday. Plus the game tonight is played in Salt Lake with so much on the line. Lakers you suck and will drop down a few spots in the Western Conference tonight....

"... Who would the Jazz get to coach then?"

Probably whoever they want. As an organization the Jazz has always been managed well, the owner and gm are certainly respected by their peers; finances are in order. Great arena, super fans. Admirable accomplishments; quality individual team members; reputation for players as classy citizens. There are a few limitations, ie national media exposure, limited diversity in the community.

If the Jazz were to go after a new coach, (and if it isn't P. Johnson) they will be very selective, from a national pool.

I am not convinced Sloan is here because the organization can not get anyone else of his caliber or stronger to take the job.

The Jazz are a proven, stable, and respected franchise.

Can't Wait

I can't wait for the game. It is going to be great. Both teams have so much to lose really with the west playoff race so close so even without Pau I expect a great game. Kobe will get his points but at the same time many games are not decided by the stars but by the role players. Kobe will get 20-30 points but as long as the Jazz can keep him in that range and shut down the role players then the Jazz will be ok. Do your best to contain Kobe and make the others guys beat you. You can't stop Kobe. he is too good but he can't beat you alone.

RE: Winston

Those are all very valid and accurate points that made, but lets not forget the part that Sloan has played in building this franchise into what it is today. The point that I was trying to make earlier was that, by Sloan Hater's logic, there isn't another coach in the NBA that is good enough because no one has figured out how to stop Kobe. That logic is, of course, ridiculous.

You are right on with the Jazz being a respected organization in the NBA. Sloan, along with many others, has played a major role in that. Does he make mistakes with personnel and coaching? Absolutely, no one can be expected to do their job perfectly. You're right that the reason Sloan is still here is not because the Jazz couldn't find any one to replace him. There are already a couple on the bench who would do a great job. The Jazz and Sloan are continuing to show that loyalty that has helped them gain so much respect within the NBA. I will continue to be happy with and support Sloan for as long as he wants to coach, and still support the Jazz after he's gone.

JC

Jordan ALMOST single-handedly beat the Jazz?

Moto X

I wish Gasol was playing. Then when we beat the FLAKERS tonight it would be that much sweeter.

Oh well, a W is a W!!!

Our players will be "up" for it tonight. Home court and National TV. Boozer did announce on KFAN this AM that his back has been sore for two months but he has just tried to "play through it".

If Kobe is hot tonight it will be a tough game though. If he just has an average night it should be a 10 point plus win. Usually nobody stops Kobe--it is just a matter of whether Kobe is missing/making shots. He can get his shot off ANYTIME and against ANYONE in this league. Making Kobe work defensively is just as important though as how we play him defensively.

Hope Brewer is ready to continue his dominance of the baseline for some of his easy dunks tonight. Hopefully that will wear Kobe down a bit--having to chase Ronnie around.

MAO VANCOUVER

GO JAZZ I AM SO EXCITED FOR TONIGHTS GAME I CAN'T STAND IT JAZZ ARE GOING TO PUT A BEAT DOWN ON THE QUAKERS I I I I I'D BETTER GO RUN OR SOMETHING TO PASS THE TIME UNTILL TIP OFF...

magnus

good point about making Kobe play D. You have to include Korver in that equation though, since he will be splitting minutes with Brewer. It might not be a bad idea to put AK on Kobe for short stretches, all of the different styles might make it harder for Kobe to find his rythm.

Certainly not Flakers

Let me preface by saying I am a 30-year 100% dedicated Jazz fanatic. That being said, the Lakers are a very good team, and despite being a Laker-Hater, a very enjoyable team to watch as a basketball fan. Kobe, in my opinion, is the MVP. He is a LEADER this year and makes his mates better. I wholeheartedly believe that it is DFish's presence in the locker room, bus, plane, restaurant, and arena that has helped Kobe become the complete player he is this year. Hate Fish for doing that, but don't hate him for the perceived betrayal. He moved to LA for family support in a time of crisis first, and top notch medical care second. Think of YOUR family with you on the road 150 days a year before you throw around unreasoned opinions.

Back to Kobe, It has been very easy to hate Kobe in years past. I find it increasingly difficult to do so this year. Ms. Sash-V, on the other hand, I find incredibly easy to dislike. I do believe I despise him more than any other player in the NBA, save perhaps Bowen and flailing Ginobli.
