It is time for the media and other hound dogs to let this family move forward the best they can. They did not pull any triggers, they also have lost a son and with no understanding as to why he did what he did. They live in their own hell, give them peace and let them live and heal. GOD BLESS this family who have suffered more than anyone in this valley will ever understand.
God bless Tolovics | 12:51 p.m. March 18, 2008
For their sakes, I wish they could simply disappear, and start anew.
Their son shattered their lives, their American dream. His poor mother is sure to die an untimely death because of the stress and heartache she has had to endure. Moving back to Bosnia was this family's way of trying to start new again. I really do feel for them. And what makes me even sadder for them is that they will never be able to escape this...the media. They will be found, hounded, and questioned for the rest of their lives. Surely every year on the anniversary of the Trolley Square massacre, there the media will be on the Tolovics doorstep with a barrage of questions as the world awaits an update.
I wish they could indeed be left alone, and find peace.

Good to know the neighborhood is friendly. Most of them are in Utah are. Some people are not so these people are blessed. The media creates prejudice and fear more than any thing out there. The media is dirt. I remember
an accidental shooting in my neighborhood and the media lied about it and made the person look like a criminal and had it all stated that this kid was doomed and would be treated as an adult before they even had any information. The media treats every case wrong for money. Greed is all the media lives on. This family should be remembered for who they really are and not what happened with someone in their family.

I wonder what makes one go off the deep end like that.

The media should be tried for the half truths they write. Everything becomes sensationalized and many families have been tramatized by their gossip. I can't wait until their pens burn in hell. If any of the journalists are LDS that write about tragedies that do nothing for our society except to demonize people for their downfalls even if they are horrific should take a look Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith compiled by Joseph Fielding Smith.

that you search yourselves--the tongue is an unruly member--hold your tongues about things of no moment--a little tale will set the world on fire. At this time, the truth on the guilty should not be told openly, strange as this may seem, yet this is the policy. We must use precaution in bringing sinners to justice, lest in exposing these heinous sins we draw the indignation of a Gentile world upon us (and, to their imagination, justly too).

I agree, the media is worse than any predator or terrorist... and KSL takes the grand prize of all. Terrorists believe that they are doing the right thing, by their religion or beliefs, predators are just that, they go after prey for survival... not the media. They are all dishonest, money craving, and rating obsessed, They do the Constitution of this Great Country an absolute disservice. They have a right to print the news, but how about printing the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth... not some glamorized version attacking the innocent (yes, even suspects, according to OUR VERY OWN CONSTITUTION are innocent until proven otherwise). But, not in the media, somehow they get away with using the same propaganda techniques that Hitler used to sway his followers. When I was young and Naive, I believed everything I read and heard, and admired the reporters who had the courage to tell the stories. Unfortunately, I now know that's just what is told, stories, with little or no factual basis. Good luck to this family, to the families of the victims, and to the other defendants who were tried and convicted in the media.

So many victims in this tragedy, inc an innocent mother and father. God bless them and heal them.

I find it rather ironic that you are all bashing the media when you are using a medium of the media to do your bashing...Just a thought!
Nothing good comes from gossip | 10:02 p.m. March 18, 2008
I had to live through a lot of tragedy and heartache to realize that nothing good comes from the media gossip. Those who read it and spread it are as much to blame. Entire families are destroyed forever by the shame caused by one member. But that member is still a part of a family, and society needs to understand that the family grieves and feels anguish for the acts of one. The family will never stop loving one member and wishing things were different. What wonderful people who stand close to these families, call them friends, and do not shun them or the siblings who are innocent. If you live long enough, rain does fall upon your life. If nothing good comes from this type of news, and there is so much else to report...then why is it published by a newspaper?

Give them a break. Can't they do anything right? I mean, you seriously expect they're gonna go around the neighborhood talking to everyone after their son pulled THAT garbage? Think again, my friends. Give 'em some space.
