You are very right that Vegas is the most attractive place to have the tournement. I agree with you. I love salt lake and denver but what do we tell the people to when they come? Go skiing? If you go to California then you are swallowed by Pac-10. I do not know where to put the tourney besides vegas. It seems it is the most in the middle. Maybe put it in a different building but if you move it from vegas then the conference will lose a lot of money and they need money to survive. I wouldn't be suprised if different places donated to schools and gave discounts to get it there. The more people that go to vegas the more money the city makes. I would throw a fit if it moved if I were a business in vegas. I would like to see a more neutral place but no where else makes sense to me. Putting it in a different building makes some sense but not a different city.

Money rules the world. Why would the tourney be in any other city. If the mormans would give the MWC $10 million a year maybe they would have it in Provo with bunch of non drinking faggot fans watching. Denver was a bust. Las Vegas will never be. Show me the money or shut up.

To True Stats: Do you not have a computer? UNLV was 4-3 in Denver, losing one year to Utah in the championship game by two. BYU was 1-3. Prob the same fan that keeps posting UNLV is the only team hosting the tourney on their home court, or whatever that crap was. If you can't post facts don't post, or at least tell us it is your opinion or fantasy.
It will be nice to come to Provo next year with the team we will be bringing. IF BYU still has the streak, it will come to a close on that night.

It would not matter if the game was at the T&M or the Orleans. If the game is in Vegas, UNLV will win. Lon Kruger is returning the Rebels to prominence. With the 7' that has been talked about, a top 5 California prep player who was upset with lack of playing time at Memphis, plus Wink. A very good core. We will be very good. BYU will be 3rd at best. The rivalry will be Alford's Lobos and the Rebels. And of course everyone will still hate the Y.
So keep your excuses fresh, you'll need them next year as well. Just interchange New Mexico/UNLV as desired.

Why is the game always at UNLV?
(1)Because Las Vegas is a great place to visit in March.
(2) Las Vegas has world class hotels and entertainment.

Why did BYU fans get beat down?
(1) they are smug. Look at the whining in these posts. Honestly, if fans from any other school read these posts they would want to slap a BYU fan.
(2)They constantly have the victim attitude? BYU was cheated by having to go to the LV Bowl (even though they lost to Tusla!). BYU was cheated by having to play in LV.
(3) Delusions of Grandeur. BYU football hasn't been great since the 80's. BYU basketball does not have a history of greatness.
(4) Cry babies who always want to change the rules? Remember when the BYU fan got beat down by the cheerleader when he attacked the cheerleader for waiving the "U" flag? BYU changes the rule to ban flags? BYU loses the MWC tourney? BYU demands a change of location.

BYU is stuck in the MWC because they can only be in a conference that caters to them, no other conference would.

1. Arenas for the conference championships are picked a long time in advance regardless of the conference. There are so many logistics to deal with--ticket sales, hotels, transportation, etc.--it can't be done on Sunday (especially since BYU needs that day off) and Monday after the regular season ends to arrange all this.
2. Many other college BBall arenas sell alcoholic beverages .... Like at the FedEx Forum in Memphis where U Memphis not only played their home games but hosted their conference tournament .... which takes us to...
3. the falacy of UNLV being the ONLY school hosting its conference tournament.

Nobody's has said its fair. Nobody's saying that UNLV doesn't have an advantage. The point being made is if BYU is as great as you say, then they would be able to win anywhere, even in the T&M. Whats your excuse that the 7th seeded TCU can give UNLV a 1 point game at the T&M and BYU loses by 29 and 15.

I was at the game and can say that they should not allow beer in th TM. Why not hold this tournament in the Phx area? You have 3 great venues there to hold it.Plus I have never been called so many names as from UNLV and WYOMING fans as I did during this last weekend.Take some of the money generated from the beer sales and fill every door way with cops and not 70 year old men.UNLV must be held accountable for this.

How can you say the Moutain West isn't Fair, you BYU people need to get over yourselves. I was at all of the games, New Mexico must have advertised well, because there were plenty of them there. The problem is, is that the other schools don't advertise enough. If they advertised, the games would be more even as far as fanfare. This conference needs the money. No money, No sports(decent sports anyway). How do you think the power conferences get money. They hold their tournaments in locations that make the conference the most money. Suck it up, if you were really that good, you wouldn't have let go such huge leads both years. On another note, let's come to grips with some reality BYU, when other fan's teams aren't playing, everyone else routes against you. This is true anywhere in the MWC, and even the NCAA for that matter. No one likes BYU. They don't like you in football, basketball, volleyball, etc. The truth is, you guys are sore losers.
