Pathetic, absolutely pathetic. How many of us predicted this very outcome a week ago? After last night's win? It's games like this that convince me and others that this pathetic team is not going to advance deep into the playoffs--let alone past the opening round. Why I continue to support this bunch is beyond all comprehension. I could be using my time for more fruitful endeavors...instead of being taken on a roller coaster-like ride night in and night out.

Once the opposing team gets past our perimeter defense there is a 98.8% chance of points. Normally that might be an exaggeration, but tonight I think it really did happen.
Unacceptable | 8:48 p.m. March 15, 2008
I could have called this one a mile away. The Jazz have a very bad problem of playing to the level of their competition. Factor in that they were on the road and you've got the perfect mix for a disaster.

2-2 on this road trip was absolutely unacceptable. I the Jazz want to make ground and earn themselves homecourt along with a higher seed, they've gotta start putting these teams away

Vast disappointment | 9:08 p.m. March 15, 2008
The most disappointing loss of the season. How can Boozer not even touch the ball on offense in the last 75 seconds?

As much as we love D-Dill, you have to hang the loss on him. Harris outplayed him. He didn't try to get a two-for-one after Brewer's great play. He was just physically and emotionally exhausted. And he threw the ball out past the three-point line for low-percentage shots three times in the last two minutes.

Just a brutal loss. They will really have to scratch and claw to make the playoffs now.

A home loss or two are just around the corner. Tonight pretty much guaranteed a first round loss at best against San Antonio.
Disappointing | 9:33 p.m. March 15, 2008
I have to question Sloan's decision to leave Kirilenko on the floor for the last three possessions. He was terrible on both ends of the floor and single handedly played us right out of a win. I agree Deron didn't have his legs tonight but what we don't need is selfish play from Kirilenko when the game is on the line - Get the ball inside!

Can we say the Jazz are a better team when he is not out there?
New Jersey again | 9:36 p.m. March 15, 2008
Anyone who has watched the Jazz the past few seasons should know the Jazz do not win in New Jersey. 5 in row in New Jersey is nothing to smile about. When the schedule comes out next year, you might as well put an L down for the Jazz when they play there because they don't win in the "Garden State".
Still optimistic | 9:46 p.m. March 15, 2008
Keep in mind the Jazz came off a energy-draining win in Boston last night. NBA playoffs don't have back to back games, and the Jazz won't play a bad team in the Western Conference playoffs, so I like the Jazz's chances. A heartbreaking loss, yes, but, at least I'm not fair weather.

Why did Sloan have Money ball Memo on the bench at the end, and why were our last three offensive posessions three pointers?

Why was our only interior defentor on the bench when Jefferson scored the winning "layup"?

Will this night-mare ever end with the Nets ! why can't the jazz win just one game in Jersey ? It's disheartning to come off a blow out in Boston only to fall to a second rate team, the Nets. perhaps I should stay with the Blazers. I don't know anymore.I just don't know.

Vast disappointment, step off the ledge. Are you seriously going to put this the best player in a Jazz uniform? D-Will is the biggest reason we even have a shot at contending for a title this year or any other year from this season forward. D-Will is not always going to have great games; it is natural, but to say he got outplayed is not true. If Korver would of knocked down one of those 3-pointers at the end, the game would of turned in Utah's favor and they would have won.

What would your post have said then? D-Will is the man, he always finds the right guy that is open. Korver missed two wide open shots, so you can blame it on D-Will, AK, Coach Sloan or whomever you want, but if you can honestly say you thought the Jazz were going to win the championship this year; then I might listen to your complaining.

The Jazz will win the next 6 or 7 straight games and everyone will be saying; we are contenders and we have a shot at the number one seed. Back off the ledge and let the season play out. Youll be ok!

we should've put the nets away when we were up 10 in the third quarter... Once again our defense was terrible during the nets spurt to cut our lead to 3...Back to back 3 pointers killed us...I agree with the above quote, Kirlenko hurted us....he has no offense and very suseptible on defense, he goes for the block way to much instead of just playing good defense...he ends fouling all the time...jus stay home on your man kirlenko, causing when u help ur man is wide open...He's weak on the boards, how many rebounds did he get, not very much...no offense,no defense, kirelinko needs to be benched in the 4th quarter...In the 4th Sloan needs to play williams, boozer, millsao, korver, and either Memo or brewer. Kirelinko is terrible, im telling you all he's cancer....he needs to go......Tell me if im wrong!

The Jazz could have, and should have; but they didn't.
Jazz fan | 11:21 p.m. March 15, 2008
The last shots that we took were three pointers, but Korver was having a good night and he was wide open-if it would have went it we wouldn't be complaining. It was a good look, he just missed.

The bottom line is the jazz shouldn't have let the game come down to the final two minutes, they should have put them away when they were ahead by ten.
Pathetic Ending | 11:43 p.m. March 15, 2008
AK should not be shooting threes at the end of the game what was he thinking get it inside. The defense by AK at the end of the game what was that. Hopefully Nuggets will keep loosing.
Skeptic | 11:49 p.m. March 15, 2008
The frustrating thing about this game is how many quarters of bad defense the Jazz played. Defense, mostly, equals effort and a 36-Net fourth quarter means not all that much defense. I bet NJ hasn't had many 36-point quarters all season. Arggg!
scratch and claw? | 11:52 p.m. March 15, 2008
Jazz are in the playoffs, they will easily outlast the overrated nuggers for thedivision and get a 5 seed.

'Still Optimistic', the Jazz can lose to Minnesota, Heat, Clippers, Bucks and every other bottom tier team, and most of the time these teams had some of their best players missing, and you are a fair weather fan. A lot of us demand more from this team, too much talent not to. But yet with play like this, there is a good chance the Jazz will not even make the playoffs.

20000 home fans push the Jazz to victory at home. On the road coach Sloan has no ability to physic his players up, in no way against the worse teams. It is not hard to get up for the great teams, so Sloan, you don't even have to worry but against the weaker teams is where you should earn your money. It is not all Sloan's fault but Sloan never has and never will be a coach that it was his court side coaching that made the difference in a game being won. He can't substitute properly, his game management and time outs are poor at best. Some coaches actually coach their clubs to victories, especially in the close games. If you don't agree you haven't played team sports.
Skeptic | 11:57 p.m. March 15, 2008
Sooooooooo I went and looked it up. The Nets have had rare 30+ point quarters all year. They had a 38 pointer against Atlanta and the Cavs and a 37 pointer against the Knicks. The Jazz not only gave up 36 but did it in the final period after having a lead. Way to D-up boys! (I didn't look at every single game, just those where NJ scored more than 100 points and I did it fast, but that is what I found. Booooooooo!)
ctoe | 12:01 a.m. March 16, 2008
It all comes down to defense (or lack thereof). When it comes down to the end of a game against a weaker team, it shouldn't come down to a needed last shot. The game should of been in the bag much earlier.
Give me a break | 12:33 a.m. March 16, 2008
I would love to see a local TV station, weekly go over the worst defensive plays, replay them on TV. We would have a high light film of Boozer and Okur displaying what seems to be an "I don't care" and "I don't have to hustle attitude" on defense. Defense is 95% attitude and desire. If you are the Mr. Good Guy, gutless and lazy, then Boozer and Okur are fully qualified to teach their style of Defense. It would also be great to go over coach Sloan's game substitutions and his time outs and try to understand his logic, what he is thinking. I think it would be great. Maybe it would help us tounderstand why none of this is Sloan's fault and we can just blame it on 'youth' or the 'Water' here in Utah. I'll take the bad Water in Utah theory before the "youth theory". The Lakers average age on their team is only 1/2 a year more in age than the Jazz. I don't like Phil Jackson, but he knows how to out coach his opposing coach and he knows how to physic up his players. He is responsible for some of their wins.

I feel like I am watching Hermann Munster or Lurch on the 'Adams' Family' trying to play defense sometimes when I follow what Boozer and Okur look like trying to play defense. They go half speed trying to react and then when the offensive man is upon them they are out of position to defend. What gets me is it happens over and over game after game. If I had to sit down and review film with the rest of the team I would be so embarrassed if I were them.

Watching CJ and Price at least give it there all on defense, trying to beat their player to a position, take away his penetration is refreshing after having just thrown up all my popcorn watch lazy effortless defense by our PF and Center.

I don't like the feeling I got. We lose one at home and the confidence on this team could come tumbling down fast and we can be following 8 other teams in the playoff. Boozer and Okur are big talkers, but Sloan won't make them back it up. Boozer had 41 points, how many did he give up the first quarter. 41, big deal.

To be defeated like that made me crushed. To me, final minutes playing strategy was a blank. Experiences more experiences which will help us as playing the playoffs.
GO JAZZZZZ, I BELEIVE

Simply put, There is no excuse for the loast. It shows plenty of flaws within the Jazz system. Why this team can't capitalize on the big wins is still a mystery.
Excuse theories come plenty each time the team suffers a stupid loss, against inferior opponents; and this mentality amounts from the era of Stockton & Malone. Sloan for one, has never been short in theories: "Old age", "tired legs","selfish","lack of execution" and now "youth"? The Jazz ,for as long as I can recall have always been inconsistent regardless who is on the team, the one constant however, being Jerry Sloan himself. So you go and figure this out.
Sinan | 7:59 a.m. March 16, 2008
i'm typing my comment of Sloan's coaching first time.
Player changings are so static and sure to happen. Names and minutes are well known by everyone. To me, those must be so dynamic, unknownable and result giver even for 30 sec. to play with him. These kind of changes give the player high effort desire to make the mission successfully, also makes other team's coach and players confused. Send the player to the floor, let him finish the mission and pull him back to the bench. On some way, bench is for those special actions during the game. Create suprises! (i hope all of u can understand what i said..my english ...you know) GO JAZZZZ

Unbelievable | 10:03 a.m. March 16, 2008
Let's not forget the Jazz with their current win-lose record are really 7th seeded, hanging on barely ahead of GSW. But they have the same amount of L's . Suffice to say the Jazz and GSW have lost more games among playoffs bound teams in the Western Conference.
On the other hand, one loss will put the Jazz out of playoffs picture. Continuous faltering against mediocre teams will definitely oust them in the playoffs race.
Z | 6:57 p.m. March 16, 2008
The Jazz will definately be in the playoffs. The Nuggets will never catch them. However, they will only go as far as their defense will take them, or homecourt advantage if they have any. So none of us should be too high or too low about this Jazz team until they figure things out on the defensive end of the court.
