He is destined for greatness - American Idol or not.
However, in making the comparison between David and the Osmonds, David is living in a different era where the challenges of the celebrity lifestyle are better known than they were during the Osmonds hey-day, thus, he can be better prepared.
Also, David isn't the type of person who seeks fame. He does what he does because he loves music and loves to sing. For all we know, were he to be the next Idol winner, he could still end up going to college and having a non-entertainment career, with music/recording as a hobby. (After all, he is a straight A student.) Also, he has soooooooooo much support from music industry-wise people to help him along the way. Another credit to David is that he is more than just book smart, he is wise.
I think David will do just fine in life, whatever comes his way. He's an extremely impressive young man!!
David needs to know how many people from Murray City are behind him and cheering LOUD for him!!!
I hope that Murray High will be jam packed tonight for the special David Archuleta night tonight. I hope the school can fill the auditorium and have overflow in the gymnasium and that the media will show David how many people support him. I hope Mayor Snarr can be there as well.
According to Brett, this starts at 6:30 PM tonight at Murray High School, 5300 South and State Street in Murray. SPREAD THE WORD!!!! LET'S ALL SHOW DAVID WE SUPPORT HIM!!!!!!
I was also very impressed to learn that David is an A student. He's got the brains to back up the talent. You always need an education to fall back on, and I hope he will find time for college. David will go on to touch many lives and I can't wait to see how his career and life unfolds :)
When someone has an incredible talent it would be a shame to hide that talent. So we show our talents in order to bring joy to others, and to develop ourselves. Would you prefer that we all sit around doing nothing with our lives?
Yet by showing our talents, the attention comes...BECAUSE people love music and great voices, and all forms of art, and being entertained. And people recognize when someone has a gift. We celebrate that and fully enjoy it.
There just happens to be a huge talent pool in Utah because we take both interest and pride in developing our talents and helping our children to do so.
I hope that explains why you think "Mormons" are infatuated with becoming famous.
Go David!
Now, I have a feeling this won't even get posted here. No we aren't all crazy about this kid!!! He should have done something with his winning Star Search than come on Idol for yet ANOTHER shot a stardom. Go away David.
Remember to keep the faith! Have fun with this experience and enjoy!!
Keep Smiling!!! Good Luck!!!
