Why did this news story neglect most of Utah County, where a number of prominent Democrats are running against Republican incumbuents?

Cody

I'd hardly call Carlene Walkers last election as a Skeaker, she won by 9 points.

CVC

Little geography lesson: Morgan is its OWN county, not in Weber County.

It's a Start

We need more stepping up. Every one in office now should be replaced. Utah politics needs to change.

Couldn't agree more

I always considered myself a Republican, but even I can see that we need to shake things up in this state. All of the incumbents need to be challenged in primaries and in the general election - STARTING WITH CHRIS CANNON! Please, someone, step up and let's remove this guy. He is an embarrassment to the state!

Re: It's a Start

Great idea! Let's replace the Republicans with Democrats!

Kent

Republican State Senator Carlene Walker won by a landside (9% points)4 years ago when you consider that the two Republican Representative in her district, Speaker Greg Curtis and Mark Walker, barely won their races. Moreover, Senator Walker even garnered more votes in her Senate District than Congressman Jim Matheson. She's popular with her constituents: Republican, Independent, and Democrat. Mr. Bernick needs to do his homework, again.

Interesting isn't it a Bishop running against a Seminary Teacher

Isn't it wonderful?

I think it is so great that people are involved politically, giving us a choice when we vote. The worst thing politically is when a candidate is unopposed.

An LDS Seminary teacher? I didn't catch it, did they give the NAME of this LDS Seminary teacher? Why is it so important that this is an LDS Seminary teacher? So important in fact that they did not give the person's name?

OK, so if you want to vote for this person, just check the box next to "LDS Seminary Teacher" !!

sclark

Greg Curtis has proven himself to be a strong leader who deserves to be reelected. Despite his narrow margin of victory, he played his hand as if he won in a landslide. As one of his constituents, I will proudly work for his reelection. Who could do it better??

Cottonwood Heights resident

State Senator Carlene Walker won by 13% (not 9) in 2004. She is really well-liked in her district!

Mark

To the two anonymi:

If you read the whole article, you will find the name and a brief bio of the seminary teacher. WAKE UP!

Bishop vs. seminary teacher is ok, but last time Rob Bishop's opponent was an LDS bishop. So Bishop vs. Bishop is even better.

Curtis should be replaced. The Voucher debacle was more than enough reason for that. And many can do it better, the question is do any of them want to do it?

ahhh!

Merrill Cook is running again??????? Oh, the humanity.

Thank heavens for Matheson.

No more green gov

Vote out the turncoat Huntsman!!!

to "couldn't agree more"

Chris Cannon has served the public for quite a while and deserves our thanks, not our endless criticism.
I am, however, not for him being reelected. I am for David Leavitt--someone with the common sense we need in Washington to help us turn our country around!

Third District Delegate

I liked Leavitt - until I heard Chaffetz speak. Now there's someone who is not afraid to take a substantive position. He's the guy you want speaking for you on the floor of the House. Cannon and Leavitt will have a hard time competing head-to-head with Chaffetz.

voter

Chris Cannon is a CONSERVATIVE's conservative. His lifetime ACU rating is 98.5. He is one of the top 10 No-Pork Congressman. Matheson is one of the top 12 Porkers.

He has gotten 15 bills passed in Congress. Jim Hansen passed 20 in his 24 years in Congress. Matheson 0. Bishop 0. Seniority works, especially for small states... like Utah.
