UDOT nixes 4800 North as path for Lehi road

Lehi continues their temper tantrum to try to get their way. There is always a new excuse as to why 2100 North isn't the correct location. It isn't about displaced homes or cost. Mayor Johnson supported the Southern Freeway early on that would have displaced far more homes and been much more costly.

Explore a little deeper as why the city continues to fight the 2100 North alternative. I am happy I moved away from that city.

I personally am not really sure which one of either proposal is better. What I am concerned about is that the traffic problems be fixed. Main Street in Lehi is bottlenecking more traffic than any of it's developers ever thought would come through there. There is no possibility of expanding it and still keeping the integrity of the old town businesses. It's a fun street with great small businesses as it is but I avoid going down it as much as possible because the traffic is so horrendous.

There is a solution out there. It won't make everyone happy, that's impossible. However, something needs to be done to fix the problem. I dearly hope the solution will be found and implemented soon.

Lehi city government is a joke...there is no EW corridor, no NS corridor...get off your rear ends and do something!

A five year study was announced for expanding the Alpine highway...then Cabellas expressed interest and in 3 months the street was widened and new roads put in. State and city governments can work together if there is motivation! How about the road system solution is announced or you all get kicked out of office!

Solving Lehi Main Street congestion is long over due. Lehi has had a good solution for an EW fix for a long time, but UDOT put the brakes on it and has been dragging this process out by changing everything. Lehi is being forced to scrap its plan and let the rest of the state walk all over it.

I'm surprised more Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mtn residents didn't get behind Lehi's latest plan because of the decreased travel times it would have created for them getting to SLC and Provo.

As a resident near 2100 N, I'm familiar w/ groundwater problems to homes in the area. Lehi city has denied that such a problem exists for homes and that the city properly allowed builders to put in basements in this area. What specifically is the problem as it relates to the highway that the city is pointing out?

Lehi BLOW it years ago when they let Thanksgiving point be built right in the middle of SR 92. That road would have been the best alignment with a ramp at I-15 already. The leaders of the city cant see past there noses. All they saw was the tax revenue that was going to come into the city. Any one with a clue should of saw that road going all the way to Redwood Road. But no They let Thanksgiving point be built right in the middle of the BEST alignment.
