AK is a brittle man. He could be out for a long time.
Sloan Hater | 3:44 a.m. March 7, 2008
I hate to sound like a broken record, but AK will be out for awhile. This would be a great chance to get some minutes for the young guys. (MoAlmo & Fess) Especially since we have such a great coach who can teach them so much about the NBA and how to succeed.

It will be interesting to see IF AK even wants to comeback before April. The earliest he comes back is two weeks. You heard it here first.

I have said it once and I will say it again...the league needs to change the way they handle flagrant fouls.

If a player is deemed to have committed a flagrant fouls, either 1 or 2, and they subsequently injure the player they fouled, then they should have to serve a suspension exactly one game longer than the injured employee misses due to the injury.

To mitigate possible faslifying of the severity of an injury, the league would turn to outside medical examinations to determine when the player can safely return to playing.

This would go a long way to stopping these fouls like Nowitzkis from potentially ending a players career. If it does, indeed, end that players career, then the player who committed the foul should be banned for life.

How can anyone argue that injuring another player does not warrant a suspension. To say that the injured player(aka, AK) is "soft" is ludicrous. That would be like arguing "Geez officer, that kid I hit with my car is just weak. A feather could have knocked him down. I didn't hit him that hard." and then being let off with a "warning".

A.K. For all these comments about being weak may be skinny, but he is NOT weak. People have nearly knocked his teeth out before and he'll just spit the blood out and keep running. People who play against him, who I am not one of, have a lot of respect for his ability to handle pain. He isn't weak, anyone who gets thrown like that could potentially injure themselves. Yes, Malone and Stockton would recover a bit faster because 1. No one would do that to Malone or he'd knock them unconscious a day later and 2. if they did it to Stockton Malone would've come after them during the same game.

Yes Mo Almond is the answer to the Jazz. Jazz would win the western conference and a championship if Sloan would just play Mo Almond. Fess is better than everybody thinks he is. It is all Sloans fault! You other Jazz fans are pathetic. Mo Almond lives with his college buddy/team mate and so do I but for different reasons. I will never move back to Utah because of the laws in Utah where people like me and my partner don't get certain rights.

Put some muscle on your body, Andrei! I'm beginning to think we'd be much better off just cutting ties with Andrei and letting Milsap have all his minutes.

sloan hater lets be honest. mo almond is deffinitely not the answer to the jazz. just because he dominated the D league does not mean he is ready for NBA play. whenever he gets in he doesnt do anything. you obviously do not know the game of basketball if you say sloan should be fired.
Re:Sloan Hater | 9:17 a.m. March 7, 2008
You are fruity pebbles. Enough of comments that are not man enough for sports including tennis. Mo Almond is great in D-league but the fact is Ronnie Brewer and Kyle Korvar have been a great piece of the Jazz success. CJ Miles has for some reason been picked over Mo. Perhaps it is because CJ does better in something called practice. Can you say practice Sloan Hater? I guess we need to talk to you like you are a child for you to understand us. Lets pretend in the neighborhood of make believe of Mo Almonds success with the Jazz. I am happy Mo is doing well in the D-League but until he does anything with the Jazz and proves a tough headed great coach like Sloan he can play nothing is worth being said here.
Re: Anonymous | 9:31 a.m. March 7, 2008
I agree on your words regarding Mo.
Sloan Hater is both uneducated and needs treatment.
The D-League is proof of nothing. Look how many times Randy Livingston has been an All-Star in that league and has even been MVP! Randy cannot stick with any NBA team. How many D-League players have turned into stars or superstars? I think Sloan Hater needs to retire and Sloan needs to keep coaching the Jazz until we win a championship in the next couple years.
AK OK | 10:04 a.m. March 7, 2008
How many of you tough guys were critical of Brewer, after he got slammed to the floor and subsequently missed several games?

Was AK's fall any less violent than Brewer's? I'm not a bit surprised that he's not ready to play yet, just as I was not surprised when Brewer missed several games.

AK is playing great this year. He has improved leaps and bounds over last year and is an important part of this team's success.

If you must bash someone, bash Kobe, Artest or Hilary Clinton, but leave AK alone. He's on our team.

re: Sloan Hater is wrong again.

We are getting 22 points/game from our two-headed shooting guard named Brewer/Korver. Let me guess, we should sit those guys down and put Mo Almond in??? To do what??? Offenively Mo is not going to score anywhere near that in the NBA. Also, based on Flash games I have seen, he would be killed defensively.

So the upside, in a very competitive playoff race with zero margin for error, would be??

Nothing--only risk and likely downside.

Then we should bring up Fess? Same thing. If you had watched him play for the Flash you would know he is not giving you anything offensively that we do not alredy get from the players playing C. He might be able to do a few things defensively but he picks up so many quick fouls it would hurt the team.

Besides, Fess has already had max call-ups from the D-League. The next time he is on our roster for the remainder of the year. Whose minutes is he going to get? He needs playing time--not bench time--which is why he needs to stay where he is for now.

Your low B-ball IQ is showing--again.
SV Jazz | 12:41 p.m. March 7, 2008
Dirk is obviously jealous of AK. Dirk hasn't won any championship. AK won the Euro and the MVP. And when he flagrant fouled AK, Mavs were ridiculously trailing AK's Jazz . It's definitely personal.
re: sloan hater | 4:00 p.m. March 7, 2008
When playoff implications are on the line like in today's game, developing younger guys like Almond and Fess are LAST on the priority list. Why develop younger guys when the Jazz are so deep? There's not enough minutes to go around as it is, even with AK not playing.
Sloan Hater | 4:23 p.m. March 7, 2008
MoAlmo should be coming in for garbage minutes in blowout games like the TWolves games. When was the outcome ever in doubt? How does it hurt to play him in that type of game? The same with Fess.

You guys have bought this load that playing D-League is as good as being in the NBA. It isn't if you are moping through games, LIKE THEY ARE! Sloan has killed any excitement they had to be drafted.

Weren't you homers the same ones cheering when the Jazz drafted him? I was there. I was cheering. He is a GREAT player to have dropped as far as he did. He is the next Rip Hamilton. He would be deadly coming off a double screen to hit a 15-18 ft jump shot.

The problem is that he won't get a chance from a coach who doesn't develop rookies and he will end up succeeding for another team in 3 years.

Fire/Retire Sloan.
