Big Fes a shot. Bring him up I dont care if he cant go back to D-league until next season.

Everyone wonders where the minutes will come from. Surely not Collins he isnt playing right? Actually Collins has averaged 10 min per game this season.

And in that 10 minutes he gets:
1.7 pts,1.6 reb, 0.5 apg, 0.2 st, 0.1 blk, 1.6 fouls

So to put this clearly he gets,

An assist every two games
a steal every 5 games
And a block every 10 games

Now. His 1.6 fouls translate to free throws by the other team so I will be generous to the jazz and suppose the opposing teams shoots 66% from the line and sinks 2/3 free throws =2pts. Now we deduct that from collins points and walla collins scores -0.3 pts per game. Negative!

Now Feses numbers ~25 min per game:
10 pts, 7 reb, 1.5 apg,0.4 st, 2.2 blk, 3 pf

If Fes got 10 min a game-like collins:
4 pts, 2.8 reb,0.6 apg,0.2st,0.9 blk, 1.2pf

So in the same time Fes would get twice as many Pts and rebounds and 10 times more blks.

re: Adam D

I hate to burst your bubble, but you can't compare Fess's numbers to Collins' numbers. Fess has played VERY limited minutes compared to Collins, with most of Fess's time being garbage time. Also, his per game averages are inflated from the LA game in which he played GREAT!

Your math also doesn't add up. Fess averaged almost 3 fouls per game, so by your math Fess would be giving the other team twice as many points. However, fouls don't always translate to foul shots, so the whole analogy is goofy.

Don't get me wrong, I AGREE with you that Fess and MoAlmo are wasting time in the D-League at this point in the season. They don't want to be there anymore and aren't benefiting from playing half-hearted in games that don't matter.

Us True Jazz Fans can hope for this to happen, but I'm guessing there is a bitter, old man that won't be calling their numbers any time soon.

Jimmy's Sneakers

Should be an interesting game to see if the Jazz match up better now with Shaq on the floor, then they did with Marion. Jimmy thinks that this weekends games are crucial in determining how the Jazz will finish the season and which tie breakers we will own.

Re:Sloan Hater

Us true Jazz fans? You are a pathetic loser. You are not a Jazz fan. How dare you call yourself one. The only fans that should be bashing their coach as much as you do are Knick fans. They have something to cry and complain about. Jazz are winning and you are the only one who is whining. We are tired of you and beg you to leave. We would like to see the Jazz give you an Ostertag-like contract to get you and your fruit basket out of here.

Sloan-Backer

Agrees with Jimmy...tonight's game (on the road, gasp!) be a portend of games to cmoe in the playoffs.
Sloanhater- Who are you going to replace from the starting 5 for Fes & Almond? Miles deserves time as he's been in this system for a few years now & paid his dues. Okur's 3's & ability to pull shaq from the middle on defense make him the most logical starter. Shaq will rest MORE than Okur unless fouls happen at which point Collins will get his due time & perhaps spread some fouls out with Milsap on Shaq. I like the odds on Shaq @ the line against us.
Rebounding & D-Will stopping the dribble penetration & kick from Nash will be the keys to the game.

Jimmy's Boyfriend

Almond and Fez are good. but the limited minutes Almond has played have been horrible. He can't hit a shot, he's confused on Defense, and he looks terrified. There's no way he should get minutes ahead of Brewer, Korver, or Miles. The Jazz should trade Miles, and try to get Brewer to play SF a little. But this year isn't the time to do that.

Fez should get time. Collins is horrible and old. Fez would be able to do at least as much as Collins. Personally, I think he could do better. but Almond hasn't earned a spot yet. He's gotta learn to defend first.

Jimmy's Mom's Cousin's Uncle

Collins' value to the Jazz does not usually show up on the stat sheet. Collins is used as a defensive stopper when needed. Plus, he is always in the right place in the offense, can hit the 15' shot if open, and most importantly knows his role. He is a great guy to have on the bench.

I love the name copying craziness, btw.

Have I ever once said the MoAlmo or Fess should start or even that they should come off the bench? You guys put words in my mouth faster than I can.

MoAlmo and Fess should be sitting the bench with the team for home games, road games, playoff games, and they should be in all the practices/meetings to get ready for these games. How does this hinder the Jazz? Shouldn't Sloan be 'coaching' these guys and helping them become better players?

Again, I've been to Flash Games in which these 2 have played recently and THEY DON'T WANT TO BE THERE. You can see it in their body language and the way they play. So why isolate them and not help them progress?

Good coaching move Sloan.
