Great story. Thank Linda. Ashley has been increddible this year, even better
than the last few years. I wish her the best. Go Ash. Go Utes!!
Ashley is amazing to watch. She makes it look so easy. Ashley and Jamie have
grown together this past year. Let's hope the relationship continues even tho
he's no longer with RSL.
I don't think she's the best the Utes have ever had, but she's the best
Once again we see that gender bias is OK as long as it favors women. Utah, like
most colleges in America, does not offer a similar men's program in gymnastics,
even though thousands of talented young men train for this sport and could be
competing at this level.Let's stop the hypocrisy. Women's
gymnastics remains a farce as long scholarships are offered to second-rate
female gymnasts merely to satisfy the demands of Title IX.
Kinda hard to call Utah womens gymnists second rate athletes. I am not a Utah
fan, but you cant deny their success and high quality of gymnists. You can argue with title IX in other sports at the U and at other schools, but
in this instance, it is ignorant to allude that the only reason athletes like
Ashley have scholarships is because of title IX. Hard to argue the money aspect
since their attendance is far greater then that of men's basketball. Maybe
Coach Boylen should schedule double headers with gymnastics to fill the
stands.I am against Title IX, but you can't deny that Utah's womens
gymnastics is an exception.
Go Ashley!! She's an awesome gymnast in every right! She has most
definitely outdone herself this year. We hope she continues upward with no
injuries. Go Utes! It's time to take back the title of best team in the
Wow! Those are pretty harse words from GymDaddyo! Calling the Red Rocks second
rate. Try being a little informed before you shoot your mouth off. The Red Rocks
scholor ships are paid by private individuals, not by the school!Congrats
to Ashley. Most of the Ute fans have noticed how happy she is this year and we
are proud of the changes she has made to make things work better for her
success. Keep up the good work Ashley, your success makes all the other gymnasts
be that much better.
Check out those guns! She should be able to take you out GymDaddyo.
Gymdaddyo...you are an idiot if you think the Utah gymnasts are second rate
athletes. Ill match Ashley or any of our gymnasts against any male athlete at
the U. I guarantee you she can do more sit ups, push ups & chin ups than any of
the guys can. I also bet that pound for pound she is stronger than any male
athlete at the U. You need to get your facts straight before you go shooting
your big mouth off! The U gymnasts are true athletes in every sense of the
word. All 12 of their scholarships are privately funded. Lets see mens
football or basketball match that. The Red Rocks will return to #1 in the
Nation this year & will always be #1 in their fans hearts! You picked the wrong
woman's team to call 2nd rate athletes!
Ashley is a wonderful gymnast. We have enjoyed watching her these past four
years. She will be greatly missed when she graduates. We wish her the very
best during the rest of this gymnastics season. Go Utes!
Are you Kidding? You'll take her against any U athlete pound for pound?
Obviously you've never been in the weight room with college football
linebackers. They are lean and huge! Yeah she's strong, buy why would you compare
her against a guy?
she is amazaing...she will be miss greatly at meets next year...but for this
year...#1 has a nice ring to it...GO ashley your truely my hero
What about Missy Marlow! She was the bomb dot com.
good job Ash!!!best thing i have ever seen!keep up the good work!
LOOSE CANNON I'M NOT! When I said I'll match her against any male athlete at
the U pound for pound I ment her weight vs what she could press/lift against
their weight vs what they can press/lift. I'll bet she can press/lift twice her
weight with ease. Can you lean, huge line backer do that? My hubby was a
football player at the U & can attest to the fact that the more you weigh the
harder it is to lift/press twice your wieght. Ashley may weight 110 poinds & I
bet she can lift twice that. Can your 250 pound line back/lift press 500 or
more? Yes, some can...most can't! Quit trying to dis the female athletes at
the U. I'm sure most of them could kick your but! They all have less body fat
than you do!
