I'm no McCain fan after watching his childish behavior during the Republican debates, seeing his "pathway to citizenship" bill get shot down by the public, having him take away some of my rights by sponsoring McCain-Feingold, and watching him battle other positions that I support. But I definitely don't want to see a Democrat as President right now because the Democrats in today's world is actually a liberal Socialist in JFK's time. The last thing we need to improve our economy is to raise taxes -- any taxes. The last thing we need to do to reduce our dependence on foreign oil is to continue to prevent drilling in the U.S. and in U.S. waters, to continue putting roadblocks in the way of new refineries (none in 30 years) and to continue blocking nuclear power. The Democrats also say they'll pull out of Iraq immediately. I'm not sure that's the wisest course now that Al Quaeda has set up shop there. Huckabee's refusal to step down could reduce McCain's chances of taking office. It certainly can't improve them.

Thanks, But No Thanks

Gee, Mr. Bennett, thank you for attempting to direct the GOP primary- but I believe Governor Huckabee's millions of supporters will politely ignore you, and so will he.
Many life-long Republicans have been left disaffected by the manipulation of this race, both by the GOP brass and the media. We will NOT embrace McCain, particularly since he refuses to participate in a debate to allow the electorate to contrast the candidates side by side.
(Please don't tell me there have been 16 debates already- Huckabee was marginalized and trivialized in every one of them.)
I am supporting Governor Huckabee because of his strong stand on illegal immigration, the FairTax, Second Amendment rights, and myriad other reasons. Don't you dare to presume to tell GOP voters in Texas, Ohio, and other upcoming primary states how they must vote.
We'll just stay home rather than support a candidate who does not represent us on the issues, and treats us with disrespect.

I'm shocked! Two mushy pretend conservatives endorsing another of their kind..what EVER will happen next. If you like Bush you gotta love this three.

Huckabilly should stay in forever just to prove what an ignoramus he is. The guy actually ran hard in Wisconsin with commercials and phone calls - only to lose big to McCain. I don't think Huck can win a state North or West of Iowa ... and the East Coast North of Virginia is none too thrilled at the prospect of a squirrel eating, Southern talking "Christian candidate" either.

I love yah, Bob Bennett. I loved yah the moment I saw you stand in for your dad over 40 years ago in the little theater at AFHS. You were good then, and yah still can throw the hard ones inside!!

You look so much like your dad that I think you are a clone.

The Shadow Knows

By the way, you debated some right winger that evening. And then your dad crushed him in the GOP primary election. I was disappointed that your dad did not come, but hey, we were not many in the audience. I am glad that families still run Utah.

Deseret Man,
Last time I looked, Texas was pretty far west...watch and see on March 4th.
And: I'll take a Southern talking Christian candidate over an artificial, flip-flopping, wind-testing politician like Mitt or Dem-In-Republican-Clothing McCain ANY day.

Terribly arrogant of folks telling Gov Huckabee to drop out when when alot of real conservatives haven't voted yet. Romney didnt drop out for the good of the GOP, he dropped out "for the good of Romney". Geesh, we're not stupid.

Dave

Mike Huckabee has marginalized and trivialized imself. The press can not be given the credit for doing this. He should remain in the race if only to prove beyond a reasonable doubt his being a lightweight in all areas.

Why do people still insist on voting only for a republican or only for a democrat? Shouldn't we all vote for the person who we believe will do the best job regardless of race, religion, sex, or even political affiliation?

I was raised in a "Strictly Republican" family. I see my parents still following the crowd of the Republican party. I see the same thing in my husband's family. They all refuse to vote for any democrat JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE DEMOCRATS. It makes me sad to think that people are so clouded by a party's reputation. Everyone needs to stop being so prejudiced when it involves politics. There ARE many good qualified republicans just as there are many good qualified democrats. Stop thinking RED & BLUE, and BLACK & WHITE. It's eerily similar if you think about it. I urge you all to educate yourselves on all of the issues as well as every possible candidate regardless of the party they represent. You have to remember they are dating the American public. It's all a big show like the first few dates when you meet someone new. They will tell you only what they want you to hear.

Everyone, especially the media, is so eager to "give time" to McCain to unify the party. If people vote republican, he will get their votes, even if reluctantly.

We are given more than a year to decide a nominee, but the press want to cut to the chase and be the first to "call it" for ratings. They wanted to call it for Obama and McCain before the primaries were even held. It's crazy.

I live in a state that hasn't held its primary yet and my dental assistant said, "Why should I even bother? Everyone says it's going to be McCain."

Doesn't that make you proud of our democratic system? We lost a voter because the media has convinced her her vote doesn't matter.

This would be a totally different race if Governor Huckabee had been treated fairly by the GOP and the media. The lack of coverage of his campaign and insistence on his withdrawal race started before super Tuesday. Even with his strong showing there he has never been given the respect he has earned - so much for fair and balanced reporting from any station.
Don't be fooled, Romney did not drop out for America's sake- though he probably did figure that the race had cost him plenty already. I am not normally a suspicious person, but I am starting to wonder what it is about Gov. Huckabee that so threatens the establishment.
Gov. Huckabee's integrity, values, principles, experience and fresh ideas for our country make him the only candidate that will beat the democrats- either of them. He's the best hope our country has.

How many elections have been won by a single vote?

Many!

Why vote for just any change, when you can vote for HONEST CHANGE, Mike Huckabee.

Hang in the Huckabee

The longer you stay, the more people can see you for the clown you really are.

Cliffm Moore

Tell Bennett That he is not spokesman for Texas or America. Red blooded American hopefuld do not want Mike Huckabee to drop out and play dead so his friend Johnny can have the prize. This is an election and I for one hope for the greatest upset since Reagan. I got to vote for Reagan for times and he started out only known for Bedtime For Bonzo. Keep up the good fight Governor, we are with you.

Texas4Mike

In other forums I see constant accusations of anti-Mormon bias directed at Huckabee supporters. Here, I am seeing anti-Christian bias directed at us . Come on, people: religion shouldn't even be playing a part in this discussion- I support Huckabee because of his platform- particularly because he'll actually DO SOMETHING about illegal immigration and our outmoded tax system. I like the fact that he has true executive experience, instead of years as a Washington legislator. Whether you agree with me or not, name-calling is juvenile and unbecoming to you.
