Sellers would probably experience less opposition if he would change the name of the town. Calling it Aspen is an obvious attempt to capitalize on the popularity of Aspen, CO. It could be a smart marketing move, but it would hurt the town in the long run.

Maybe Sellers should build a ski resort where there are mountains with enough snow for skiing. The property he owns is made up of hills really which never accumulate more than three or four feet of snow all winter. I think his claims of building a ski resort and his own town are really a smoke screen for crowding as many houses on the land as possible without regard to county zoning codes. Another big problem is that he bought land that has no access to county or state roads. He can't develop that land until he has a way to get to it without going through private property and so far he as not been willing to buy any. It seems his plan is to try and sue his way into getting what he wants instead of working with his neighbors.

Aspen. What a creative name for a town/resort! Why not call it Daniels Canyon since that's where it is going to be, that is IF the town will be built.

Jeff makes a good point about the marketing ploy, but like he says, "it could hurt the town in the long run."

Mr Sellers, open up the creative portion of your head and come up with a new name.

Mr. Sellers would experience less opposition if he just left the county and left the the residents of Daniels and Wasatch County alone. Nobody wants to be part of his town, and nobody wants his resort. The name of the town has nothing to do with it.

I agree with Utah Skier, making those mountains into a ski resort is not a realistic idea, those mountains are not high enough to make a good ski resort.

Dean Sellers talks about the land he owns flanking U.S. 40 in Daniels Canyon outside Heber. He is hoping to create a resort.
