Didn't the New York Giants win like 11 in a row on the road to close out the season and win the Superbowl? I think Jerry should hand out Giants shirts to every member of the Jazz team. Have the guys wear them under their jerseys so they can win on the road. Probably wouldn't hurt to call Deron & Boozer "Eli" either...I mean he never gets the ball stolen, errrr picked off on the road.

The thing that disappoints Jimmy the most in games like this is that Defense is 90% effort, and the young Jazz players come out and decide not to give what is needed. Should have been an easy dubya instead it just hurt the chances of having a home court series in the playoffs.

I could see this disaster coming about 3 or 4 games back. Giving up well over a 100 points to a team that's making a run for the futility record, or close to it. Now, they're in a position where they have to beat arguably the best team in the NBA to keep their playoff position.
A victory tonight will make it easier to forgive the Jazz the transgression they committed yesterday. If they loose tonight, we may see the beginning of a derailment that could cost them a playoff spot. The 2nd half of last season was a catastrophe, by some miracle they were able to snap out of it in the post season. They can't afford that kind of futility this year with as good as teams are 1 thru 10.
Let's hope the December Jazz beat downs were the fluke, and not the winning streak. Giving up over a 100 points to a team that would struggle to score that many points in the gym by themselves? Not a good Jazz win/playoff positioning economic indicator.

JAZZ are done. Teams like the Lakers put teams like the worthless clippers and wolves out of their misery in the first half. The Jazz need a trade, need a something. Mark my words, here comes another losing streak. 6 out of 8 loses, or maybe 8 of 10. This team has toooo many guys that aren't willing to put the effort in on a consistent basis. I can't watch anymore. It's the same old thing the last two years.

Okur and Boozer try playing some help defense - your both worthless. If it wasn't for Kirilenko and Millsap coming to help all the time there wouldn't be any help defense. How much are the Jazz paying these bums. THE JAZZ SUCK.

The Jazz are pathetic. They can beat the looser teams. They need to make a major off season move to shake up their roster. Boozer or Okur or both needs to go. I won't be surprised if the Jazz don't make the playoffs. They are very fortunate denver has lost a couple of late and Yao is done.

what is up with this team, they never play with any energy or intensity on the road, all williams wanted to do was walk the ball up the floor all night the jazz need to try and push the ball, but of course when you cant stop anybody defensively and cant rebound its hard to run.. Boozer had good numbers but what does he do to get his teamates excited, boozer does not fight on the defensive end he does not run the floor at all and his fouls he gets are about as usless as could be.. we wont win another game on the road this year.. You guys sucked last night then there is okur, man he is tough isnt he... sorry jazz fans i am just little miffed with the last 2-performances on the road against inferior teams..

I have watched my last Jazz game. I have had it with the circus known as NBA,Jerry Sloan and his "system". It has marked the Jazz inconsistency for decades: Unable to beat teams with losing records and unable to win the big trophies.
This Jazz team, for what it is worth, seems to be the softest of all Jazz generations I have seen. It doesnt have the marks of champions on its forehead. Needles to say that Sloan is not known for championship prowess.
I won't waste my money and time to simply witness stupidity, laziness, arrogance and complacency.

Well it definatley stings still. Even after a night of sleep. I love the Jazz but I have said it earlier in the year against the Nicks and Heat and so on. Those games will come back to haunt you in the end. It was evident on Sloans face. I am sure he has told these guys this many times not to overlook these games because they can come back to haunt you in the end.. Must not ring true or they just don't have the ability to do it. I don't believe the latter. They need to man up and give more to the game and they would have six or seven fewer losses with the best record in the west. This next six or so games will say alot about how the Jazz will end up this year. I love to watch when they are playing with passion and intensity.

The Jazz will bounce back and beat one of the best teams in the NBA tonight. This is the frustrating thing about this team. They play to the level of their competition. They seem to have serious mental issues. Does it have something to do with how Sloan motivates them? Sick of it.

If they lose badly to Detroit, I can see another December-esque losing streak coming and "Bye Bye Playoffs".

D Williams plays only when he needs to look good on a big stage. He needed to prove he belonged on the All-Star team, so he lead the Jazz on a pre-AllStar tear. He needed to prove he belonged in last year's playoffs, so he lead the Jazz deep into the playoffs. But right now he has no reason to look good. Perhaps Coach Smiles Sloan should let the second team play when D does not want to play.

The Jazz fell behind when D was leading last night.

Postscript: What in the world is Okur playing? A game of HORSE, I think. It's not BasketBall.

I am tired of hearing the Jazz organization always saying, 'if we're selfish, we don't play well together.' We are 60 games into the season, how long does it take to get motivated and play together? DWill is more concerned about what Denver and the Hornets are doing than going out and win some games. The problem I see with the team are turnovers (always high) and Memo has been playing 'soft' as of yet. He is our center and is supposed to be active in the paint, not the paint of the three point line. Championship teams don't care who they are playing, superior or inferior, they play with the same intensity. How long will it take for the Jazz to learn that?

Is anyone else tired of Boozer scoring 25 points, but giving up 30? Is anyone else tired of Williams playing hard some games and then getting beat by Dan Dickau and Sebastian Telfair? Is anyone else tired of Okur fouling every soul the enter his space? Our 'Big 3' play more like the 3 Amigos.

Why is it surprising to me to watch our big men jump to challenge a shot? Why is it unusual to see Boozer sprint down the floor like Malone did. Deron last night jogged or walked down the floor on almost every possession.

I am getting tired of all the Jazz players talk but no walk. Listen fella's....don't you remember what happened last year? Basketball is an effort sport. You can't make up lack of effort no matter how talented you are. Please, focus in. Play hard. Try. Run. Challenge shots. Play some defense!!

History speaks for itself: This Jazz organization has had more than its share of good years. There is a basic fundamental to basketball that I would like to remind all fans, players and coaches. Yes, fundamental basketball is important but so is "Passion for the game" The energy, the Passion to compete simply leaves this Jazz team when they go on the road. This coaching staff is very good at insisting on "Playing the game right" well don't forget coach, Executing basketball fundamentals is very limmitted as to how far a team can go (especially on the road ) without "Passion to compete every night... Home or Away" It starts with your pt. guard and he becomes so lathargic it is rediculuous... he has so much to offer but it just comes when he gets mad. He will not reach his potential until he comes to play every night. That goes for all players... and coaches. The coaches at times seem to have lost their Passion to compete on the bench.. they just seem to accept the idea that oh Well, if we loose, it is because we didn't execute well enough.. Don't forget Passion for the game, Gentlemen!

When we don't push the ball we always revert to the same old play over and over and over(the pick and roll). It's almost as if Sloan challenges other teams with the same old, same old style of baketball. I'm going to make these substitions, basically on the same minute of every quarter(unless foul problems dictate otherwise) and run the same offense at you everytime down the floor, and lets see you stop us. That mentality is driving me nuts. How about running plays and making player changes based on the nightly match-ups and how the flow of the game is going? Nightly match-ups are different each night. How about playing to these match-ups, leaving players in longer when they are going good, doing something different so that you surprise a team instead always challenge them to stop what they know is coming? This bull-headed approach is driving me nuts.

Here's my take. The Jazz need to get rid of Memo or Kirilenko. We will never win a championship with these two softies in the middle. Neither of them have a post up game and neither of them can take the ball to the basket. On defense they get pushed around big time and are too slow to stay with other players on the dribble. A team can get away with having one of it's big players being this way as long as they have other good qualities ,but two slow softies like this are just too much.

The team does not show "Passion for the game" when they go out on the road. This starts with the pt. gurard. Williams will never reach his potential until he learns to play with passion every night. He gets pretty good when he gets mad. Why not every night because it is in you and your love to compete hard.?? This example could carry over to the others. Coach, it isn't enough to just execute..
Get the leaders to Play with Passion and the wins will come. A Jazz Fan always!

To the fan that said this is his last game he is ever going to watch. GOOD! I hope you stick to that you fair weather fan. No you don't need to respond with all your crying "I have watched as the consistently lose should have won games ect. ect." Either be a fan of the Jazz or go follow some other team. So stick to it and NEVER watch another Jazz game!!!
I am just as upset about the loss last night as anyone. You can't lose those games! What really bothered me is that the Jazz had a higher FG%, FT%, and 3% and yet lost the game. It all comes down to the turnovers. BAD GAME! Tonight will tell us a lot about if this team turned any corner with that long win streak. Can they bounce back after such a bad loss, IF they do I think it is a good sign that they are at least headed in the right direction if not the last 25 or so games could be disasterous!

I see 3 glaring weaknesses for the Jazz. Now understand I love the Jazz and am not here to bash them. I am angry like all Jazz fans but here is what is alarming for the Jazz:

1-Mental toughness- Regardless of who they play they need to bring it and quit playing at their opponents level. Need to be focused at all times.

2-Defense- How do you allow Linas Kleiza to drop 41 against you? Linas who? Then last night how do you allow 4 Minnesota players to score over 20? Every player seems to have their career night against the Jazz. Need better team defense and quit fouling so much.

3-Physical toughness- This goes along with defense. How many times are the Jazz going to allow guys like Jarret Jack, Linas Kleiza, Sasha Pavlovic etc. to just drive down the lane and lay it in? I remember Malone giving a couple of guys stitches and even getting suspended a game or 2. With that, guys knew if they drove the lane they might get knocked flat. The Jazz need to toughen up and not be so soft.

The Jazz are very good but better wake up. Go Jazz!

Last night the jazz could not play defense to save their lives. Yes they turned the ball over, but their defense looked like they learned it from a girls junior jazz team. Memo was especially bad. He wouldn't move his feet, contest a shot, or jump for a rebound. I finally realized why he was playing like a worthless waste of space... his thong was riding up too far on him. MEMO START PLAYIN LIKE A MAN!!! The jazz need to start playing like the guy matched up with them just called them a sissy. GET FIRED UP!!

Until the Jazz get a center who will atleast try to play defense and plug the middle, these losses to inferior teams will keep OKURRING (good one). It is hard to win a basketball game at any level when your center allows the other team to continually get to the basket. The Jazz had a center(Mark Eaton) who made a very good living guarding Stockton's man after he burned him and raced down the lane.

when he plays at 100%, the jazz rock and roll....

when he plays at less than 100%, we're in trouble..

as an earlier post said, he gets up for big games and players like chris paul (who he absolutely owns) but when it comes time to push the ball and lay a whippin on seb telfair, he's walking the ball up the floor...

i don't really care about ak, okur, booz's defense etc...as dwill goes, so goes the jazz...

Oh how the mighty have fallen. For 2 weeks all we heard about was the grand winning streak. Now we face a new streak. 1-2 overall and 0-2 on the road against subpar teams bound for the lottery. We still rank a dismal 22nd in the NBA for team defense. Allot of people complained that D-Will was left off the All-Start team. I now agree he deserved it! He has zero leadership quality and it shows. 12-18 on the road doesn't cut it. It's now time to push the panic button. We have 11 road games left against the likes of San Antonio, Dallas, Denver, L.A., Phoenix, New Orleans and Boston. These will all be guaranteed L's in the stat column. By the end of the season we will be competing for the ultra competitive 7th, 8th spot and possibly outside looking in at the 9th position. Statistically one team will finish several games above .500 and won't make the playoffs in the West. I hope it isn't the Jazz.

What are you smoking CCJAZZ!!! Theres no corner to turn at home. Turning a corner for this team is winning half of your games on a road trip or beating bottom dwelling division teams. Not only did they miss the corner they did not even hit the brakes.
Contrary to people pointing out certain players this was a team debacle. There last three games were all played the same to.All half court sets, no fast breaks, lackadaisical efforts on offense and defense, no rebounding, stripped easily, high turnovers, poor coaching. Top to bottom pathetic. You can tell when they are going to lose on the road against poor teams by a low scoring first half and opposing team is ahead. Its a trend in most of there losses. Where did Sloan disappear to, he has plenty to say when they win, why not bench that five in the second half and start others. Maybe light a fire under the starters that if you don't want to get up for these games then we will put guys in who do. Come on you guys you are better than this and you have no room for error this year.

Dispite what many of you think, the jazz executed Jerry's defensive gameplan to perfection. Which is to double anybody who touches the ball in the paint (Gomes, Craig Smith) and leave everyone else wide open for 3 point shots or easy drives to the basket because the entire team defense is out of position.

I think the players gave a decent effort (not great) but Jerry's defensive philosophy gets exposed when the offense isn't clicking.

ID Jazz what I meant by turning the corner was that they need to show they can rebound after poor play over a three game period. In december that is what they lacked; getting their confidence back after playing poorly. When they went on their winning streak many people said they had learned from dec's awful performance and had "turned a corner" as a team. Tonights performance will say a lot about that. if they come out flat tonight and chalk it up to playing one of the hottest teams in the league, then they have not learned anything. However, if they rebound from last nights ugly display of BBall and show some heart to get back to winning ways then maybe they have learned something.

The Jazz have to finish ahead of Denver to make the playoffs. That is it. The tie-breaker scenerio could be important. If the jazz do this, they will probably open with New Orleans or Dallas without home court advantage. Those will be the games that matter this season. A February loss at Minnesota will long be forgotten.

Key stats for ya Jazz are 20-5 with Korver. The five losses all against teams currently not in the playoffs. What does that tell us. Jazz play to the level of there competition. We are young and immature and stat driven if bolerjack mentions double double again I'm going to punch him in his double double chin. We need to mature and start pounding these sorry teams. Prediction Jazz beat Detroit because they are a playoff team.

Boozer, Memo, and Collins. The three amigo's in the middle.....AKA Soft, mashmemo, and flop. Was that Kenyon Martin body slamming Brewer to the floor with his best impression of a Tag/Shaq shakedown. Following are the three amigo's response. Boozer would open his hands palms up and stare in disbelief and plead to the ref. Marshmemo would shrug his shoulders like he has a tick, and flop would be out of there before contact was ever made.
