I am a 70 year old woman and I am in awe of the LDS young people of today and Scott is a fine example of why!
Well said young man, always remember who you are and don't let anyone sway you from what you know is right. When young people today have someone so great to look up to like President Hinckley how can they go wrong,
I thank God for a prophet!
To: JC Wood and Anonymous....I ditto your words to describe this choice young man. President Hinckley certainly touched my life for many years. I loved him and respected his beliefs and authority. What a blessing it is to my life to know without doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church on the face of this earth. Pres. Hinckley was chosen by God to be our Prophet, Seer and Revelator and that is why we loved him so much. He is missed by millions of people and will be remembered forever. Thank goodness for good and righteous young men like Scott. He will be an effective missionary.
I liked Pres.Hinckley I think he was a good man but I don't understand how it is that he was a phophet and accomplished nothing more than any other church leader of any other church that only have ministers. So is phophet just a word for a title. What did he do that was special or different from other normal leaders. I will appreciate if some one will explain this. I am sure others also wonder about it.
To Ruben-On the outsideview of things you are right, you may wonder, well, what makes him different? TO the youth of the church he would talk personally, to them he gave hope in a hopeless world by example and by his words. he gave the youth the 6 b's many remember. be loyal, be faithful, be true, be humble be prayerful, be grateful, i think were his six be's. He challenged me and youth across the world to live above the worlds trends by putting our faith in a redeemer giving us hope that we could overcome the world. he was the most oldest frequent flyer i ever saw, flying around more than any 95 yrold man i ever saw, or frankly, more than any man i ever saw period. During his administration as prophet of the lord he oversaw the building of 44 some temples, putting temples in places for members of the church who only dreamed of going once a year, now can go more than once a month. That is a huge deal to millions of lds across the world. Hope is word not to be just paraded around, and he gave it.
i have to say that president Gordon B. Hinkley was a good prophet.the day i found was a sunday and i was taking a shower then i heard my bother say to my mom that our prophet just passed away..when i heared those words i just started to brake down and cry!!i love our prophet very much!!

Amen to everything this young man Scott said. Scott will be a wonderful missionary for our Lord & Savior. I too know President Gordon B Hinckley is a prophet of God. I miss him so but I also know President Thomas S Monson is our Prophet now and he was tutored by President Gordon B Hinckley. The Lord runs this church and he has it worked out perfectly.
