This is Easy... | 7:29 a.m. Feb. 23, 2008
This is an easy game to predict. BYU gets down early in this game by 15-20 points...because they can't handle San Diego's athleticism, and Murdock, and Burgess are exploited by quicker guards. This game will be a microcosm to the last two years when BYU got down early, and makes a comeback to get it within 5 points, but they dug themself to big of a hole to win the game. This is typical BYU they lose these two upcoming road games, and hold serve on their homecourt, and beat TCU on the road. They finish with three losses in the MWC, but Vegas ends up losing one more game so BYU wins the MWC title. anyways..I've followed BYU for too long to get my hopes up. I just don't think this team has enough toughness. Plaisted I believe goes up to weak for shots inside. He doesn't even look at the hoop before he shoots, he just kind of throws it up there, and The guard play is spotty with Murdock and Burgess. cummard is an absolute Stud and the only one that has the moxie to get the job done. BYU one and done in the NCAA tourney.

BYU needs to play their best road game of the season as they play SDSU. They also need to do the same next week against NM. If they win these two games they will have a significant improvement in their RPI as they finish out the regular season. Go Cougars!

I'm confused Dick-you said "The Cougars lost in San Diego a year ago, 86-74, ending an eight-game win streak." . . . then the next paragraph says "The last time BYU defeated SDSU here was in 2003 when the Cougars captured an 80-69 win". Am I misreading something?

Tonight's game | 9:00 a.m. Feb. 23, 2008
We will learn a lot about the moxie of this year's squad tonight in Cox Arena. Will they show up with their "A" game or get pushed allover the floor by the quicker and more athletic Aztecs?

If they can manage a win tonight-they may be capable of more than "one and done". In my opinion this is a deep, talented, and well-coached group that could become a bracket buster.

Wouldn't that be sweet after two decades of frustration?!?!
Winnable game | 9:24 a.m. Feb. 23, 2008
That's kind of a shock that we haven't won at SDSU since 2003, but I think this year's team has what it takes to break that trend. They slumped for a few road games early in the season (BSU, Wake, UNLV) hitting rock bottom at UNLV but then woke up and we've seen better defense and rebounding from them since. If they can stay mentally tough and focused they'll win this one.

Go COUGARS!!!
BYWHO? | 9:26 a.m. Feb. 23, 2008
Go SDSU!!!

This is easy: Chill, dude. With that kind of karma they might go down hard. My call is that it's a close game. There's something to be said about confidence, and the Cougars have a lot of it right now. I'd give more point minutes to Jimmer--he's pretty crafty and poised for a true freshman, can create his own shot and is one of their best ballhandlers/passers.

They may go down, but I give them a shot. My call: BYU 65 SDSU 62.

hey- easy !

since you already know everything why bother watching? you should go to vegas and leave college sports to fans-not know it alls sitting in their easy chairs with a beer and pretending to understand basketball and thinking that anyone cares what they say or think.
Get Real | 10:40 a.m. Feb. 23, 2008
Hey easy,
Byu goes up by 7 early, the Aztecs fight back and leads by 3 but BYU hits Three 3's in a row to take a 6 point lead and stay's ahead by 6-10 pints until the end, when SDU fouls and BYU wins by 15. ...See we can all write what ever we want, but the game will tell the story not you or I.
I have no idea how it will turn out for sure but I hope BYU wins by 5 after a hard fought game, I know they can, not sure if they will! I know SDSU has a real shot... but if BYU plays their game they will win. :~)
Re: Texcoug2 | 10:53 a.m. Feb. 23, 2008
BYU had won the previous 8 games in conference play for the 2006-2007 season when they lost to San Diego. It wasn't an eight game win streak over the Aztecs that was broken, but an overall 8 game regular season win streak.
Re:"This is easy" | 11:11 a.m. Feb. 23, 2008
For someone who says he follows BYU closely, isn't aware that BYU has already beaten TCU on the road.
are you serious? | 11:17 a.m. Feb. 23, 2008
texcoug2: OK, since you are a cougar fan, I will take it easy on you. The eight game win streak was by BYU, both home and away, prior to the SDSU game. The Cougs have lost in SD @ Cox four of their last four tries.

Paranthetically, during my SoCal years, we rarely missed going to Cox to watch the Cougs win. It is only a recent phenom that SDSU seems to win easily. Last year I saw Coach Rose @ the La Jolla Marriott after the game...it was a blow out, no matter what the final score says, (I think at one point SDSU was up by 30 points) and I said, "Tough game today coach". He simply responded, "We ran into a buzz saw today." It was ugly.

BYU is a different team and I could 'almost' guarantee that w/o Spade SDSU is not ever going to be up by more than 10. There was a day that BYU owned SDSU at Cox...maybe that trend ought to begin again today. If the BYU team shows up, they win. Don't forget: WF beat UNC, BSU is 12-1 in conf, UNC top 3, MSU is top 20. Go Cougs! 22-5?

Even if BYU beats SDSU & UNM on the road this week, they have to win the UNLV-invitational in order to get a decent seed in the NCAA tournament.
Yawn...... | 1:12 p.m. Feb. 23, 2008
provo is horrible. One and done at best. Hope they get smashed today.
PeanutY | 1:12 p.m. Feb. 23, 2008
Hey Yests go comment on the articles on your team! Your Yewts have a real distraction. It's called Boylen, who is so involved, jumping, yelling and waving his arms that it keeps his teams off center.
Re: Yawn | 2:44 p.m. Feb. 23, 2008
ewe fans (are there any?) are used to yawning. No matter what happens at SDSU, it is BYU 2 - yewts 0.
Tanaka | 3:10 p.m. Feb. 23, 2008
it'd be a significant feat for BYU to come away with one win of the next two (I think it might be a double digit loss tonight) and it'd be a miracle if they could win both
Ty | 7:21 p.m. Feb. 23, 2008
It will be a close game tonight. Just wish I had CSTV. And BYU already had one win today: The Utes had trouble at home!
Hey, Ty! | 11:26 p.m. Feb. 23, 2008
You only got the one win today, buddy. Can't take the refs with you on the road....
