The longer we go without seeing Olave, the more glad I am that RSL picked up Borchers. Hopefully there's plenty of time for him and Mantilla to figure each other out. Welcome to SLC, Nat.....but be warned - Salt Lake's not quite Colorado. Here you have to get used to playing in front of fans.
We are thrilled to have you here. Can't wait to see what you are capable of.
I have no doubt that Nat Borchers bolsters the depth of the RSL roster ... My question would be does his addition, at a rumored cost of $125K/year, help the competition in the back with Olave, Mantilla and the development of Horst and Besagno? ... he was good, not great with the Rapids, who really knows the level of play in Norway, and how much impact can a solid - if not spectacular - centerback make on this team?
Robin Fraser's confidence in Nat is encouraging, as Robin is one of the most accomplished and respected soccer guys out there ...
How can it be called a "rebuilding" process? There has to have been something there in the first place to be rebuilt.
It's rebuilding the team the right way according to Kreis and Lagerway (or whatever his name is). Ellinger, who was a great youth coach didn't do the best job of putting together a good team. He put some good players together, but not a team.
Kreis came in last year and started rebuilding when he got rid of his friend Klein; also Adu, Cunningham, now Pope, Esky, etc.
Great Acquisition. Defense was my biggest concern this year. I don't know if RSL will be successful this year, but I believe they are building for the long-term of the team. True RSL fans understand that teams go through bad years, yet we will always support the team. Good Luck to RSL & Borcher!
Well said. No team can be perfect every year. (Alright, so RSL has been downright awful so far, but...) Go RSL!
Great pick up. Coach Kreis and team management are putting together a solid new core of players, and Borchers is key.
