Despite Eagle Forum claim that issue is dead, Buttars criticism continues

What words ARE we allowed to use?
Gayle Ruzicka, president of the Utah Eagle Forum, said Wednesday she's cancelled a planned rally to support Buttars because it's no longer needed."
LOL... It was canceled because Gayle Ruzicka is the only one supporting this chuckle head! She couldn't find anyone else to show up!
How about using words not based on emotions.
"a dark ugly thing", Is that a way to speak about legislation? How about being clear concise. Try saying "this bill is poor legislation not in the best interest of the Citizens of Utah"?
Emotionally charged words are indicative of emotionally charged laws. The framers of the Constituion wanted to avoid that!
Thanks for listening
QUIT, QUIT, QUIT, QUIT!!!!
I'm sure Buttars doesn't think he's a racist, but that is beside the point. The point is, what he said is absolutely insensitive. And yes, it is for the black community to decide what they think is and isn't sensitive. Just like it's for the LDS community (and I am LDS) to decide what they think is insensitive.
I'm not talking about some crusade for political correctness. It's called RESPECT.
Maybe the NAACP would quit "whining" if people actually were sensitive to what they're trying to say.
That is a strawman arguement. The city can not legislate the state. It's a one way street going downhill.
Rocky lobbyied, it was the state that enacted the legislatation.
Also, how is your comment germane to the issue being discussed?
If Buttars can't speak in front of the press, as he did all day before the planned meeting, what is he trying to hide?
And to whining - stop whining. You are (likely) not affected. How can you tell others what to feel?
everywhere is go people want to get me fired and try to destroy me.
they say something about being a white dude and how can i have such a name.
please show some tolerance.
I have lost all respect for the racists at the NAACP.
Oh, and by the way, have you ever heard of the mountain meadows massacre? Men, woman, children AND babies.
Now go back to the hole you crawled out of.
Also one wrong by a sub set of people does not erase the wrong done against the whole. If that were so then by the same "logic" you could say that lynching of blacks in the past does not matter because OJ killed his wife. Does that not sound stupid? Say it with me "that is stupid". As is your mountain meadows statement.
Thanks for your hate and the proof that this is a racists which hunt.
That said, I cannot think of a greater political compliment than to be opposed by Gayle Ruzicka. Those in the legislature who oppose Buttars deserve a big pat on the back for having the guts to "just say no" to this one-woman hatemonger. Just ignore her. She only has power if you give it to her. The fact that she demonstrated ALONE vividly demonstrates how politically isolated and irrelevant she has become.
As an LDS women, wife and mother and grandmother, I am thoroughly ashamed that Utah would lapse back into the 1950s and promote racism and hatred.
@10:07 claims he said Brown v Board of Education was "wrong from the start." Could I get a reference on this? Because I don't know what he means without context.

My issue is that the registry effects only the citizens of SLC as enacted by their elected officals.
It is more than a Gay issue. It's about people that care for their aging parents, their disabled adult children.
It doesn't mandate that insurers provide anything. It merely makes it easier for those that would provide these benefits to ensure that they weren't being scammed by nare-do-wells.
I have a problem with the state politicians stepping into local issues. It's not an agenda. If other cities pass similar laws it will be by the consent of the citizens of THAT community.
I admit I no longer live in Utah but, my school age children do. I do not want them to learn bigotry and discrimination from the people elected to support and defend the constitution. I want them to learn the teaching of love and compassion from Jesus.
Thank you for listening
