Jazz notes: Jazz not necessarily eager to make a trade

Go JAZZ!!
Plus, and BIG plus here, there will be more cash available when Williams next contract kicks in as Wallace's contract expires before Kirilenko's.
Wallace - Are you kidding me!!! He 15 millions for 5 pts and 8 rebounds in 32 minutes a game. - His numbers per 48 minutes are worse than Millsap in points and rebounds. Shot Blocking: Wallace 2.4blk/48m to Millsap 1.8blk/48m) I don't think the Jazz should pay 15 million for .8 blocks a game. Plus we would have to give Kirilinko to get Wallace who is a much better shot blocker then either of them. Wallace numbers are declining with his age. By the way - minus his freakishly tall hair - Millsap is as tall as Ben Wallace at 6'9 and Wallace was an All-Star Center back in his prime.
Ginobli Duo aka bring back Ostertag with backup Dikembe Mutombo...Bring Jazz fear to those aging
Spurs and the upstart Lakers known as Pond Scum in
some parts. Bynum would be a guppie to our big fish.
Why not just bring up Fesenko? He's been pretty strong defensively in the D-leauge. Try and work him in for 5-10 minutes a game (basically just give him most of Collins minutes) to get him some experience so he can be a contributor come playoff time, sort of like Haffa was last year. In a pinch he could be good for four fouls and maybe a block and a couple of rebounds in 10-15 minutes of guarding an elite center, and unlike Haffa or Collins Fesenko may actuallly score a couple of points too.
But for now I say we bring Fez up and get him some REAL minutes and get him ready for the playoffs. He looks like a good center with some game on both ends. As for this year we have a shot! Go Jazz!!!
If we don't improve out roster at backup center we will not win the west.
What do you think a front court of Bynum, Gasol and Odem with Mihm, Turiaf and Mbenga comming off the bench will do to Okur, Boozer and Milsap??
LISTEN PEOPLE, I'LL SAY IT ONE MORE TIME!!!!
"FEZ CAN'T PLAY"......HE'S AVERAGE AT BEST IN THE 'D' LEAGUE WHICH MEANS I WON'T EVEN GET INTO HOW HE'D BE IN THE ASSOCIATON...
HE'S SIX FOULS AND 2-3 TURNOVERS WAITING TO HAPPEN....
IT STILL NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME HOW FANS CAN WATCH ONE GAME AGAINST THE SHORTHANDED LAKERS AND THINK WE HAVE JABBAR,CHAMBERLAIN AND RUSSELL ALL ROLLED IN TO ONE....
MAYBE, AND I MEAN MAYBE, SOMEDAY FEZ WILL TURN IN TO A DECENT NBA CENTER, BUT FOR NOW, HE'R RIGHT WHERE HE BELONGS, IN THE 'D' LEAGUE OR SITTING BEHIND THE JAZZ BENCH IN A SUIT AND TIE...
use him.
Honestly, if he could come in and fill an "Antoine Carr"-type role stuffing the middle on D, that's better, check that, far better than what we have now.
LET ME REITERATE AND I KNOW ALL YOU COLLINS HATERS WILL LOVE THIS---BUT AT THIS POINT, THE GREAT FEZ ISN'T EVEN HALF THE CENTER COLLINS IS....
NOW, DID I SAY THE GREAT FEZ WOULD NEVER PLAY OR NEVER TURN OUT TO BE A SERVICEABLE TO GOOD NBA CENTER---NO I DID NOT....
WHAT I SAID IS THAT RIGHT NOW, HE'S NO WHERES NEAR NBA READY AND WOULD GET CHEWED UP AND SPIT OUT BY EVEN THE MOST PEDESTRIAN OF NBA "BACKUPS"...
THINK ABOUT IT FOLKS...JS IS IN DIRE NEED OF HELP IN THE MIDDLE..HE KNOWS THIS AND SO DOES KEVIN O'CONNOR...WITH THAT IN MIND, IF HE WAS ANYWHERE NEAR NBA BACKUP READY, DO YOU NOT THINK THE JAZZ BRASS WOULD HAVE ON THE BENCH....HE'S NOT READY AND WON'T BE FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE....
MAYBE SOMEDAY, BUT MOST CERTAINLY NOT NOW....
IT ALWAYS SEEMS TO FALL BACK ON CONTRACTS, DOLLARS, VALUE FOR VALUE ETC ETC...ONLY THE BEAN COUNTERS EVER SEEM TO KNOW FOR SURE IF DEALS LIKE THIS WORK OR NOT.....
i agree that the jazz need a physical C to play shaq and duncan (who whines about physical play) which....makes me wish araujo was on the bench. Fess is not the answer, he isn't strong or quick enough yet to guard either of those guys. He may be next year after some time with.... a weight training nut (like araujo.) For all you araujo haters, i hate byu as much as you, but araujo wouldn't have been a bad sign for 2 yrs 3mil.
I say the jazz keep this group together and see how far they can go. seems to me the spurs have kept the same 3 guys for a while and done ok.
Before people post an opinion on Fesenko they should go and watch a few games. While I wouldn't call him the second coming of Kareem. I do think he would do well as a backup center. As a big man, he is a lot more active than Ostertag ever was.
Having seen him play many times (up close and in person) I don't see how anyone can consider him a lumbering oaf.
Personally, I would like to see the Jazz bring Fesenko back up before the end of the season and the playoffs start. It would give him time to acclimate to the team and should an injury occur to either Collins or Okur. The Jazz won't have to go into panic mode forcing Fesenko into a role he hasn't had time to adjust to.
