Hopefully all goes well.. YEAH!
Being from Pittsburgh, I remember a few years ago when the first baby elephant was born there, which was the first one born in captivity, or at least in the U.S. and it was immensely popular, with one to two-hour long lines to see it in the elephant house, where it had to stay for its first few months. It was VERY cute. Utah is now very lucky to have one. I just can't believe how small the elephant area is here! I guess it is a pretty small zoo though.
Let's not "count our baby elephants before their born". Hogle doesnt have a baby YET. They are hoping that all goes well during the next 22 months and then the birth and then they'll have a little money making machine. I agree with you that the elephant area is small. It'll be really difficult to see the baby with all the crowds.
I'm wishing good luck to Christie! but will she know how to be a mom? Never being bred naturally, never having a baby around, hopefully the zoo staff will be overly alert!
