The parents I know that send their kids to head start use it more as a day care then anything else. It gives them free time during their day to not have to deal with their kids and its free. Personally I'm not convinced of the programs usefulness.

I completely disagree with both of your comments, this is a very beneficial program that helps to teach children that would otherwise not be getting the recommended stimuli from the home environment. The program has done several studies that can be researched to prove the nature of the program. Please do not let your prejudices and lack of knowledge block the benefits of such a great program. A few people should not ruin it for the hundreds it helps.
