Utaliban resistance

They are flavored beer and do not contain "spirits". I for one am growing increasingly annoyed that my right as an adult to consume legal beverages is being challenged by grandstanding teenagers and politicians who have no idea what they are talking about. These drinks, which are nothing at all like mixed drinks, need to be chilled or they spoil, and there is no refrigeration in state stores so the bill is a de facto ban. And now they want to move the beer as well. This is about the rights of adults to self determination, and it's about control by ranting children and paranoid, misinformed lunatics.

it is time to limit the legislature's ability to meddle in what should clearly be driven by a free market. Abolish state iquor stores now and treat adults like adults!

I'm reminded of Laurel and Hardy's slogan:

"Two minds without a single thought."

At least they're not taking Listerine out of supermarkets - your kids will still have something to drink!

Doesn't make much difference to me, I buy all mine in Mesquite so they have enough alcohol in them to bother with. 3.2 is pointless.

Utah's liquor laws just can't get any weirder. There is absolutely no need to move these drinks to liquor stores if the laws in place re selling to underage drinkers are enforced. It just makes it harder and more expensive for those of us who have an occasional drink with dinner. We're not all alcoholics, you know.

How will malt-flavored beverages at the liquor store spoil if they're stored at room temperature?

Last time I got some 5.0-6.0 percent full-strength beer at the liquor store, it tasted fine to me.

alcohol = alcohol

Alcohol obtained by brewing is the same as the alcohol obtained by distilling.

Utah lawmakers want you to think there is a difference. They want you to believe that brewed alcohol is "good" because so many of the faithful brew their own root beer and it contains... alcohol.

Root beer contains alcohol???
Not unless there's a starch (malted grain) to ferment to alcohol and sugar. Where did this revelation come from?

Lemon and Vinilla extract contain more alcohol than these beers do. So we had better put those in the liquor stores as well. Then the non drinking population will see how inconvient it will be to obtain those products as well. No sunday sales or holiday sales. That means it will be harder to make cookies and home made ice cream.

this is just a way for the state to get more money. Tax the minority to support the majority. the state already miss-allocates the money raised in taxes from alcohol sales. i wish the mormons would just let adults be adults. oh and i am a non drinker.
