I believe the article is incorrect when it states that the amount taken from your check to pay for health insurance is tax-free. Such is not always the case!
If this does not cover self insured persons, not on midicare or medicaid, who pay for their own insurance, then it is discrimination. We pay almost 25% of our disposible income for health insurance.
Part of the problem still remaining is not denying those who want to purchase health insurance. I tried to get my own plan when I turned 26, but was denied because I have asthma. Even though my asthma is minor and under control I was denied.
