I cant wait for the Jazz to come back from the break and smash in the Warriors faces! And go Boozer! Way to rep us
Jimmy's Sneakers | 7:14 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008
Jimmy thinks that its great we saw such a successful offensive outpouring against a zone D, which the Jazz have struggled with this year. Hopefully, this proves that our O has figured it out, and Carlos's Assist totals might bear that out.

Jimmy also noticed Hart didn't get into the game, but wasn't sure if that was due to his back flaring up or coach's decision. Jimmy hopes for the latter.

Keep it going Jazz!!! Traditionally the Jazz are a much better team after the all-star (who cares about this game anyway?) break. I'll be cheering!

Triple double a joke... | 7:51 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008
Okay, not one to pick but this "triple double" shouldn't really count.

1 - the game wasn't even that close (15 point lead), so why have the booze in right up until the very last second?

2 - that last assist to Price? Come on....

3 - I didn't think Sloan cared about stats but they ALL new what was going on with less than 2 minutes to play.

4 - Booze hasn't been doing so "all star" like lately so maybe this will be good for his ginormous ego - not to mention something nice to add to his tags on his FERRARI (3x2).
MLR | 7:55 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008
I am glad to see this accomplishment by Booz. But as for Boler and these phony Double, Doubles go he needs to leave them alone. Any player as involved as Booz and D-Will, should do that on a regular basis if they get the minutes, but he treats it as a major accomplishment. A Triple is a REAL DEAL. Way to go Booz, keep it up and it will show you are a complete player. Leave the doubles alone Boler were sick of hearing about them.
FACT MAN | 8:15 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008
THE JAZZ ARE STILL ON A ROLL
THE JAZZ WILL TAKE NEEDED REST
THE JAZZ WILL BE READY FOR THE WARRIORS
RP WILL GET MORE MINUTES
RP WILL NEED TO PLAY TOUGH D ON ELLIS AND DAVIS
THE JAZZ GOT THE WARRIORS # JUST LIKE THE SAC QUEENS HAVE OURS

To the triple double joke comment, it's not a joke, he had a triple double like it or not, Booz is outstanding and deserved it. Including that assist to Price. It doesn't matter who they play a triple double is a triple double. Good luck Booz in the All star break. Can't wait to see what the season has in store afterwords.
BUG | 8:47 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008
That was a good win and am happy to see Brewer back in the line up. 5 players in double figures is awsome! Our bench has proven themselves time and time again this season. I think we have a shot at taking it all this year. Has anyone else noticed that "Jimmy's Sneakers" is more anoying than Boler? Get a life Jimmy!
Dumb Ditty Dumb | 8:50 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008
Hey sneaker boy. I'm pretty sure that the words "our" and "we" aren't supposed to be used in the 3rd person. But as long as you think you're clever that's all that really matters right?

As for not counting the triple double; are you serious? Who cares if everyone knew and wanted Booz to get it? He deserved it. Last night was one of the best team-effort offensive games I've seen in a long time. We should be congratulating Booz, not complaining that a PF dished out 10 assists.
Anonymous | 8:54 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008
So, if the game were close and Boozer was still in it would count but it doesn't because we were winning? That's lame logic. It was a great game by Boozer! Go jazz
Buckeye Fan | 9:00 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008
To MLR; I'm glad some one else is totally tired of hearing about Boller always making a big deal about Booze or D'Will making a '2x2.' When my wife is watching the game and Boler gets all excited and says "Boozer only needs 2 more rebounds for a 2x2" she gets up and leaves the room. Boller needs to know, WE DON'T CARE...just play defense. As MLR said, for the time they are on the court and the contracts they have...they better be getting 2x2's every night. They are the focus of the team.

The 2x2 is just like the 4 minute mile. A year or two after that happened it was news. Today, if a track runner can't get under 4 minutes they're not on the team. So Boller, lay off the 2x2 and wait till they get close to the 3x2 or better yet, the 5x5. Almost switched to listening to Hot Rod...Boller call the game and just hope Booner has something of relevance to add.
Jimmy's Boyfriend | 9:03 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008
I live outside of UT and have to pay for the League Pass. That means that half of the Jazz games I watch are broadcast by the opposing team. That has also helped me to conclude that Bolerjack'd and Boone have to be the most biased, unintelligent, least entertaining rejects in the league.
To the guy complaining about Double-Doubles being worthless, I have to disagree. Boozer is ranked #3 and D.Will #9 in Double-Doubles. Neither of them play more minutes than most of the premier players on any team. So to score a Double-Double on a consistent basis is more telling of a player's ability than being able to get a 3x2 once or twice a year. Williams and Boozer are both consistent players, and to average a 2x2 is indicative of that.

RE: MLR | 9:23 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008
No reason to cool off on recognizing the double-double. Perhaps it isn't the hardest stat to get, but to get there as consistently as D-Will and Booz is something to recognize. Not too many players are averaging a DD, but both of them are right there. Great 4Q last night...GO JAZZ!

The West | 10:03 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008
I can't believe how close the race is in the West for playoff spots. The Jazz have been on an incredible run and are still a few games out of being out of the playoffs. Pretty amazing but shows no one can let their guard down in the West.
Sloan Hater | 9:58 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008
Kudos to Mr. John Deere for putting Price ahead of Hart at backup PG.

I was a little disappointed that it took the jazz so long to put the sonics away. While Memo was a beast down low, we could've used his (and Korver's) 3-bomb.

Congrats to Boozer. However, I'm still waiting to see the intensity he had last year in the playoffs emerge this season.

Are you kidding me. Boozer's triple double is as ligit as Lebron's or Kobe's. If he played the enitire game like they do i'm sure he'd get more of them.
DCJ | 10:31 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008
I watch on NBA league pass too and I have to say there are a lot of broadcasters out there for other teams that call the games like they're the teams' equipment managers, or a couple of hometown guys staying up late watching TV in the basement. Boler does a professional job, and for the Jazz games I don't necessarily want him to give the objective, national sportscaster slant that he usually takes on the big network games. Ron Boone has had many moments of unintentional comedy, but I've come to love it now whereas years ago as a teenager I'd rant and rave about it.

It's a great time to be a Jazz fan. BTW, I hope that the Kidd-to-Dallas trade somehow goes through. Harris is more of a problem for the Jazz to defend than Kidd would be. Lakers and Spurs look like the biggest playoff competition for the Jazz.
Re:Sloan Hater | 11:25 a.m. Feb. 14, 2008
Your negativity is everything that is bad about sports fans. You are not a true Jazz fan at all. Jazz win and all you can do is whine and complain. You might as well move to NY and cheer for the Knicks. You will have even more to complain about if you haven't got enough to complain about already. Boo-Hoo.

I'm from Juneau, Alaska and have known Carlos for quite awhile.

I remember in the State Tournament, East Anchorage was picking Juneau-Douglas apart with a ferocious full court press.

After a few time outs, Coach Houston did a desperate thing: he put Carlos at the point guard position!

Did it work?

Well, yes and no.

Carlos always beat the press and got the ball safely across the timeline, but then he passed off to a teammate who would go on to turn it over, or who would put up a dumb shot. Without Carlos scoring inside, the Crimson Bears couldn't win anyway, so east took us down.

At any rate, Carlos has passing and play making skills that he hasn't been called on to use with the Jazz, but he's got 'em, and ain't afraid to use 'em.

This won't be Carlos Boozer's last triple double, providing his teammates will finish.

I also have League Pass and live outside of Utah, and while Boler/Booner are not the best announcers in the league, they're also not the worst. There's one pair (I forget which team they work for) who just don't talk. Lots of dead air. Other teams who have little undertanding of basketball (pathetic but true) and other announcers who are far bigger homers than Boler/Booner. (Think Tommy Heinsohn of the Celtics crew...he's the biggest homer I've ever seen in ANY sport...Celtics never do ANYTHING wrong in his eyes). Boler gets old with some of his phrases, but trust me, he's far from the worst out there. Go Jazz, nice to see them turn it around this year, many of the folks on these message boards had jumped ship a month ago.

While Boler and Boone are far from the biggest homer announcers (Celtics announcers are #1) I am still bothered by Boler's corney nicknames he continually makes up for the players "thunder and lightning" being the most recent stupid attempt of Bolers to annoint a nickname.

Give me Steve Brown over Bolerjerk any day of the week!!!!
Re:triple double a joke | 12:43 p.m. Feb. 14, 2008
Are you kidding me? This is nba basketbaall. Most people couldn't get a triple double in church ball let alone the nba. Also if you are that close to getting one why not go for it? If you do not understand the game do not make ridiculous comments like that. Booz has not played well as of late, but the Jazz have been winning, that shows good signs from the Jazz and every player is entitled to struggle from time to time, it is an 82 game season not a video game where fatigue, family life, traveling, etc is not a factor.
re: re: Sloan hater | 12:57 p.m. Feb. 14, 2008
Tell me what is wrong with being negative about Boozer's up and down play and Hart's previous spot in the lineup before Price?

Please define what a "true fan" is once and for all.

You and your fellow sloan lovers prove my points again and again. You fail to bring forth facts supporting sloan's tactics and instead revert to name calling. Congratulations, you are a big man.
THE UPSTART @ Blade | 12:58 p.m. Feb. 14, 2008
I Tend to disagree. The Biggest homers in the announcing world are the announcers for the Denver Nuggets. PERIOD.

AMEN to THE UPSTART @ Blade....The Denver Nuggest announcers are the worst....in the league. They don't even know how to announce the game, or make the right calls. Thank goodness the Jazz are done playing in Denver this year...I think we all deserve a rebate back on our League Pass for having to listen to them...or the guys in Portland!

I'd like to chime in on the evaluation of our great play by play man, Bolerjack. He's horrible.
I can't listen to him for even 10 seconds without laughing at either what he is currently saying or I remember something he had said in the past. For instance, one time when he was a co-host on 1320KFAN, he was talking about some opposing player the Jazz were about to play. He said he was very fast and athletic, etc. and that Stockton has a hard time guarding him. His comment was that you can't coach that, he said "that is, that is, um, that's inbred". I about choked when I heard that. I think he was trying to say this player's talent and athleticism was genetic. What a dope.
He is very handsome, however.

re: JazzFan | 2:26 p.m. Feb. 14, 2008
So true jazz fans don't whine while the team is winning?
So, as long as the team beats a team that won't be in the playoffs, no criticism is warranted?

And, just what have I "whined" about? The Hart/Price controversy that is getting air time by commentators? How about Boozer's up and down game that has also been discussed in the media?

Where do you get off telling people they are a fan or not? What do my ticket stubs mean?

Love is blind.
JJ | 3:00 p.m. Feb. 14, 2008
Bolerjak does a good job on the CBS national games (both college and pro). I don't understand why he does so poorly with the Jazz broadcasts. It might be Boone. The Booner just doesn't seem to add anything to the broadcast. It might be from all the years that he just had to sit there quietly while Hot Rod went on and on and on (do miss him though living outside of Utah and having to watch league pass).

Denver's announcers are Bill Walton bad, while Portland's and Sacramento's announcers are much more homerish than Boler/Booner. I tried to watch a different NBA game last night, I think it was the Lakers-T-Wolves game, and those announcers for Minnesota were terrible. The new Lakers broadcasters are definately not as good as their predecessor (one of them used to announce beach volleyball for heavens sake).

Another trade sanerio that Slown wood never do but should. This is why I can't stand the Jazz staff. They never make big mooves to get grate players. Think about this.

Memo and Brewer to Seattle for:

Delante West and Wally Sczerbiak

This way the Jazz get another grate outside shooter with Wally and a good back up in Delante West. Memo and Brewer are expendable.

Another idea:

Ak and Millsap for Jason Kidd. The money wood match up, but again the Jazz coaching staff does not have the guts to pull off a dill like that. the last won I will sugest is:

Brewer and Millsap for Charlie Bell or Carlos Arroyo (who killed it when he was here) and a 1st round pick. That gives the Jazz a stable back up point guard.

Until the Jazz staff gets some guts though dills like that will never happen.

I FOR ONE LIKE BOONER AND BOLER..THEY'RE A BIT OF A HOMER, BUT MOST OF YOU WOULD BE AS WELL IF YOU WERE BROADCASTING THE GAME TO A PRO JAZZ AUDIENCE......SOME OF BOLERS CATCHPRASES COULD USE SOME WORK, BUT YOU CAN'T HAVE EVERYTHING...

DID ANYONE NOTCE HOWEVER THAT THE BOONER HAD HART KEEPING HIS JOB, BUT AT FIRST SUBSITITION, OUT CAME RP....BOONER WAS A LITTLE SPEECHLESS AT FIRST, BUT RALLIED TO SAY HE REALLY DOESN'T KNOW WHAT JS IS GOING TO DO......YA THINK....

RP BASED ON A SMALL SAMPLING OF GAMES HAS BEEN TERRIFIC...I THINK JS DID A GOOD JOB OF MAKING THE SWITCH...HE STAYED WITH HIS "YOU DON'T LOSE YOUR JOB TO INJURY" MANTRA LONG ENOUGH TO LET HART PLAY HIMSELF RIGHT OUT OF THE LINEUP....

LASTLY, MY MAIN MAN MATT HARPRING NEEDS TO WORK ON HIS FREE THROW SHOOTING....GOSH, HE LOOKS LIKE A STICK MAN ABOUT READY TO FALL DOWN WITH EVERY SHOT...MATT, COME ON BUDDY, YOUR BETTER THAN THAT..

Triple dubble

I saw that Boozer had a triple dubble last nite and it got me thinking of the best power forwurds in the league. Heres who's in my fav five:

1-Al Jefferson (very under rated, double doulbe per nite)
2-David West (his numbers speak for themselfs)
3-Rasheed Wallace (could be the best player in the league if he wurked harder)
4-Zack Randolph (tough to defend and hits big shots)
5-Kenyon Martin (when healthy he is the best pf defender and he is getting his game back on)

Hon. mention
Kevin Garnett-never won the big game
Carlos Boozer-in five years no one will remember his name
Elton Brand-injured two mutch
Tim Duncan-He is a center
Amare Stoutimire- He is a center

RE: Jazzsmack

If you were the Jazz GM, I could no longer be a Jazz fan. All 3 of your trade proposals are horrendous. Carlos Arroyo? You mean that guy who refused to play within the team-oriented system? And Wally "I flop as much as Sam Cassell" Sczerblah? Memo is as good a shooter as he is; and he won't draw the big men out of the key like Memo does.

And you want to get rid of Brewer and Millsap? For the wife-beating 40 yr old? Great move dillweed (or to support your spelling "Dealweed").

Charlie Bell is decent, but not worth giving up two young promising guys with a boatload of potential. You might want to keep your day job pal.

Jazzsmack, the Jazz are playing great basketball. Why would they mess with the chemistry now that they finally seem to be getting a regular rotation in? They've only lost 3 games since they acquired Korver. Quit trying to play GM because you just aren't good at it. It's laughable really, that you'd think that Jason Kidd would come to Utah and be fine playing second fiddle to Deron Williams.

A JOKE?
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? A triple double is a triple double, could you get a triple double in the NBA? I don't think so. Lay off Boozer, he is awesome, probably one of the best in the NBA. Dream on about that triple-double being a joke.
Boozer is da man! | 10:18 p.m. Feb. 14, 2008
The way this man has played the last month clearly shows me that he deserves the starting spot in the west a lot more than that one guy from Denver...What's his name again? I can't remember. No matter, come next year after Utah wins the championship this year, he'll probably be one of the top vote getters for the All Star game. Go Boozer and Go Jazz!!
