It appears a 4-1 ratio is in favor of Spencers toys for tots. That, sadly, answers why our society has steadily become further and further decayed in respect to morals.

I am old enough to have witnessed the introduction of sexual innuendo on TV in the 70's. After time that wasn't enough and nudity and sexually explicit materials were introduced. Today you can view soft porn on regular TV.

There must be a stand somewhere or as history shows us the carnal nature of man will win and society will fall.

Thank goodness a percentage of the 1 out of 4 voiced their opinions and brought this morally irresponsible store a much needed evaluation.

Pray for our society, we need it. Do any of you 3 out of 4 read the bible? Quit being selfish. Your carnal desires don't justify such wrongs! Just because it doesn't offend you doesn't mean that it isn't offensive to some. Just because 3 out of 4 accept it doesn't mean the others have to be subjected to it. Especially when it comes to their right to oppose their children being exposed to it in open retail mall shopping!

Father, please forgive us.

I am a very active Mormon, born and raised in Utah. This is about as retarded as it comes. Raiding Spencer's? You have to go into the store, and deep into the store at that, to find the items in question. So to all you self-righteous whiners that complained to the police, how about you explain your actions to your children? 'Mommy and Daddy don't believe that this should be allowed and so we went deep into the store and searched the shelves for these items' Are you kidding me? IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, DONT SHOP THERE! Good grief, this isnt brain surgery. Its not displayed out where passers-by can see it and if your kids are going in there when you told them not to then guess what, YOU FAILED AS A PARENT. Take responsibility for your kids!

Its like that illegal cutting up of Hollywood films that show things you believe are wrong just so you can massage yourself into believing its ok to watch. You have no right no impose your ethics on other people, no matter how messed up they are. Get off your religiously biggoted high horses!

RE: Hero of Canton.

How deep did you go into Spencers.

isn't it easier for parents to restrict their children from entering spencer's?

If you don't like it, don't go in the store.

No wonder that store lost the contest. All their contest items were pulled. At least it helped the other stores get ahead.

hero of canto ... so what your saying is that its the parents fault if their kids make bad choices and those bad choices are provided by adults? I know some really good parents that have kids that don't make good choices. I would do alot more than get a store shut down if someone sold stuff like that to my under age kids.

I have been over every inch of every store in the valley, I shop there anytime I need a gag gift or something a little fun for my wife.

And yes I am saying that the parents of these kids have failed them. These items aren't out on the edge where people can see them, you have to make an effort to find them. If you believe it is bad, then you teach your children not to go there. If your kids still go there then the most logical response is shut down the store right? Forget about disciplining your children, lets just be lemmings about this.

So, let me get this straight. Hear are the facts.
#1 Everybody knows the store has these products.
#2 You've got parents bringing there children in the store.
Who is responsible?
Question?
#1 How did little eyes get into the store?
Sounds like the little eyes shouldn't have been in the store but, mommy or daddy brought them in the store.
Why?
Good parenting skills or bad parenting skills?
Sounds bad doesn't it.
So is this just lazy parenting and doing the blame game on the store or, are you going to exspect the parent to know right from wrong?
Maybe if you slap a fine on mommy or daddy for bringing the child in a store such as this, you won't have that problem and adults can have adult stores. And children can go to toy stores to buy real toys. The stores should post signs outside indicating no one over 18 allowed even with a parent or other adult. That puts it back where it belongs, on the parents & the stores. Which is sad that a parent would not know, not to bring their child to such a store in the first place. Just Sad.

I don't understand. The problem is not that Spencers is selling sexual adult toys. But that they are selling sexual adult toys (including all sort of vibrators) to CHILDREN. There is NO "freedom of speech" or "Utah" issues here. It's just a simple duty for us adults to protect children from pornography, vulgar sextoys and pedophiles. Adult toys can always be bought legally in an adult shop. It's that simple.

Well, it does suck that Spencer gifts has pretty much turned into a full-blown sex shop. I remember when it was just gags and junk and it wasn't all that bad for an 11 year old to go into. But now its primarily based around sex, drugs, and profanity and kids of any age can just walk in. I mean, I'm 17 and even I got a problem with it. I guess I'm just worried about my little sisters ever wandering in.

People, name me one more store that a fifteen year old can walk in and buy a beer bong. One more thing, they don't drink there morning OJ from them.

First of all, I work in a Spencers. Secondly, how about YOU parents watch what YOUR kids are doing! I'm constantly chasing around YOUR toddlers and teens and keeping them in line in MY store! How about PARENTS start teaching their children what's wrong or right and not leave it up to the government or anyone else. The kid didn't come out of my womb. Let me ask you this, your teenage daughter...sex with chance of pregnancy? or masturbation with a sex toy? TALK to your kids about sex. Teach your kids to be mature. There's plenty on the internet and TV too. Should we censor all of that? No, because YOU should be raising YOUR child and not censoring MY life. If I want to buy a sex toy or drinking game, I will go to Spencers and I'm quite old enough to do so.
