To all of you who vote republican because of abortion, let me point out a few facts: A Republican has been president for 20 of the last 28 years. Seven of the nine Supreme Court justices have been republican appointees since the early nineties. Republicans controlled both houses of congress for most of Bush's presidency. Abortion is still legal. It is an issue the Republicans trot out every election to get your votes, but as soon as the election is over they forget all about it. Surveys show 65% of Americans opposed to overturing Roe, and the Republicans don't have the guts to go against the wishes of 65% of the voters. If you vote Republican solely on abortion , you are being plyed for a chump.

I'm inclined and was hoping that Hillary Clinton would begin a decided pulling out front by now..., but two things have worked against that... Obama's 'outsider' standing as a non-Beltway candidate and the lying machine of the neo-Con Republicans effect on the malfactual perceptions that have been leveled at Hillary since 1992, of which a close investigation of these allegations will prove them to be as untruthful and misrepresentative of the facts as the Swiftboat crap was about Kerry (which was proven beyond a shadow of doubt to be lies, subterfuge and slander).

Even so, Obama is also a fine choice should the nomination go his direction, especially if Clinton agrees to be his running mate, then we would get the best of new blood and experience on a Democrat ticket. It's possible that the Democrat power brokers are seeing Obama as not carrying the Republican liar baggage and hence being more electable among the general voting population, and that Clinton being the VP choice would be reasonable and acceptable to the voters. so...

OBAMA & CLINTON - 2008! It's a winning combination and would finally put this nation back on a rational, accountable, constitutionally directed path to economic stability!

Mr Obama will make an interesting leader for the USA and the World as a whole, he will offer freshness of new ideas and ideals that will bring hope and renewed interest in "Americans ideals".

His job will be to focus on safety and freedom for all of mankind, with Gods help he can lay new foundational understandings for peoples of the World. With great support from his assistants and the American public much can be achieved; afterall his a white man and a black man all united in one with the hope of everyone! Dear Imagine,

AMEN!

A person's personal life and private actions should be between them and their God only. Politics should be and ever remain the bastion of secular issues, which economics, national security, etc., etc. land squarely in.

The only reason a person's personal life and private actions are laundered to the public, attacked and maligned is because those who meddle in a person's personal life and private actions either have nothing more noteworthy to spend their time doing, or are so wrapped up in their own self-important righteousness that they have lost sight of reality and attempted to impose their own warped sense of reality on the system.

We need to never forget that the Founding Fathers to the constitutional convention of this nation were very randi concerning their personal lives and indiscretions, even the clergy! They kept their noses out of each other's affairs and dealt with the issues of the Nation.

Maybe the media and politicians need to take a holiday from their endeavors. I believe the nation would be better for it and it would also clarify just how crazy things have become.

Many are asking what has Obama accomplished, why is he so special, whats on his resume, etc.

WHO CARE's. George Bush and Bill Clinton had impressive resume's and look where it's gotten us.

Obama's has got charisma similar to Reagan and Kennedy. I like a President with Rock Star attributes.

It goes something like: Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security deserves neither and will lose both.

I don't understand why there is such sanguine optimism in the prospect of Barry Obama as president. The only thing Obama has in common with African-Americans is that he has a black, absentee father. His mother was an eighteen year-old college student who got mixed up with a married African who already had a child in Kenya. He deserted Obama and his mother at the first opportunity.

In terms of Obama's life experience he is a privileged white boy who was sent to the most exclusive prep school in Hawaii and later to an expensive private college in Los Angeles. He came to the attention of political handlers when he was at Occidental and has been managed ever since. They have given him "black" bona fides like a summer job working in a Chicago ghetto and joining a "black" Christian church. He is a contrivance to fool the rubes. Instead of trying to figure out what he has done or what he stands for we should look closely at what his handlers have done and what they stand for - he is merely their front man.

Obama or Billary Clinton will appoint liberal supreme court judges. That is not good. I don't like McCain, but, I will go to the voting booth holding my nose and vote for McCain only because, he will try, that is try, to appoint conservative supreme court judges, and that is huge. These judges are appointed for life; we can't vote them out of office. McCain is not my preferred Repub choice, for sure, but I believe this nation can't afford liberal judges in this nation's highest court. Thoughts?

After managing both major American and New Zealand companies for 30 years and being a strong promoter of the capitalist ideals I have learned that many so called capitalists are promoters of self greed! And they steal from anyone and everyone, those that work for them and those who invest with them and the nation (USA and NZ) as a whole. Some socialists will do the same but a social minded leader can practice Christian Ethics and good business ethics at the same time just as some capitalist. America can spend more on its people and help their own without feeling resentful of its under paid workers (USA one of the poorest paying counties in the world now in real terms) Just ask people in the south and midwest. USA health care for the workers and older folk and poor is frightening !!!
As Mormons we know that Christian moral conduct is judged in terms of its goals and consequences! We are both a capitalist and socialist if we are our brothers keepers.
I look forward to America learning to love and care for its own again!!!

How many of you who are afraid of government run social programs have ever used WIC, school lunch programs, or government grants. Not to mention all the obvious programs like the post office, police dept., etc. I know many a conservative (young Mormon families) who have used all of these programs. Conservatives seem to think it's just a matter of lazy people trying to mooch off the system. Tell that to my neighbor, a stay at home mom of two boys (something revered by most conservatives in these parts) whose husband worked full time for a small company. Her husband's insurance cost them $600 a month. They could not afford it so they canceled it. That's a lot of money for most families. Most people don't want a free ride, they just want to be able to afford necessary things like insurance and health care.

The police department and fire departments are not even run by the feds. Doing away with public schools would be fine by me, let privatize them. A military is needed to protect ourselves and has been since the beginning of this country. Having the governments hands in every part of our lives in not the answer. The free market is.

I did not say Limbaugh was a moderate, I said there are actually some out on the far right wing fringe that do make wind-bag, I mean Limbaugh look moderate. If they are honest with you they will tell you that this is a form of socialism, and it is okay with the saints. Google it into your browser and see for yourself exactly what it is.
The bizarre thing is that some of these same LDS people freak out when suggesting something so dastardly as socialized medical care. These people have been spending way too much time listening to the divisive radical right pundits who make a terrific living doing what they do.

There's a difference between the Law of Consecration and Socialism. One is run by God's Word and one is run by politicians. Also, even with the Law of Consecration, we have to be ready for it. If we weren't ready for it under God's direction, what makes you think we'll be ready for it under the direction of a politician? There's a HUGE difference between the organization and administration of the LDS church and that of the country.

The problem I have with socialism is that while the rest of the world has learned that it simply does not work, we still continue to run headlong into it. When the masses come running with their hands out, and they can only be filled by draining the wealthy, we are in big trouble.

There is a big difference between tithing and socialism and it comes down to individual choice. I choose to pay tithing and if I don't like how it is being used, I stop. I only dream of the government taking 10%! The government on the other hand forces it upon you and before you know it you have no choice in the matter. Your comparison between the two is pretty lame, at best. The only real similarity is that in both cases the individual pays money.

If the government only took 10% I would be fine with that ... itï¿½s the 30+% now I pay going to 50+% that Iï¿½m worried about ï¿½ the government doesnï¿½t love you and isnï¿½t looking out for your best interests ... government is about power and control ... I would rather as much of that stay in the hands of the people.

This proposed nanny state you Dems are rushing towards isnï¿½t the answer ï¿½ wake up!

One other thing ... Super delegates ... what a fraud. You dems talk about fairness and equality ... what a joke! Hillary will bribe, extort and claw her way to the top ... you wait and see. The invention which is Obama will be defeated and the voice of you sheeple wonï¿½t be heard.

Problem is Republicans arenï¿½t much better ... Leadership vacuum ... disappointing
