OK. The first hurdle is past. Sloan actually acknowledged that Price played well, with no mention of Hart. Maybe within the next 3 seasons, we will see Hart's playing time reduced and Prices go up. Maybe. Well, we can hope can't we??

GO JAZZ!

11 straight home wins prove that Jazz is not hospitable at all. I hope and wish they continue not to be either. GO JAZZ.

Sloan already reduced Hart's playing time. Sloan wasn't about to kick Hart to the bench just because he got hurt, that's not right, as he pointed out. But he gave Hart a 2-3 game tryout after his injury, found him lacking, and began giving Price more playing time.

So wow, let's criticize Sloan more for having the integrity to give a man a second chance, and the guts to stick with the man who is now earning his place.

Be quiet Sloan haters, he's doing his job, and better than y'all ever could.

Hopefully this was the first night of many that Price will be the primary backup to Williams. We are a much better team when Jason Hart is not playing.

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite Jazz players, Paul Millsap.

Price > Hart

Let's hope Price getting more minutes continues.

Having Hart as insurance for injury is great - but let the former UVSC Wolverine play backup point!

"He came out,and was alive, knew what we were doing ". What was the first clue ,SlowN?

Amazing, SlowN finally saw what everone else has seen all season . Simply amazing!

Now, he'll put him back on the pines, due that Hart has got six years of experience on him .Right SlowN?
bergstro | 10:16 a.m. Feb. 10, 2008
Agreed. I think you'll see sloan gradually phase Hart out while working Price in as the full time backup. I expect Hart to be the backup in the first half, while Price comes in during the second half, continuing this way for a few more games until Price is the only one coming off the bench, provided he continues to play well. Sloan knows what he is doing.

I have been saying this for the past two months: Hart is the worst backup point guard in Jazz history, and that is really saying something. (Delanny Rudd, anyone?) Look at shooting %, points, assists, turnovers, and +/- for the team when he is out there per dollar paid. The Jazz become painful to watch wen he is on the court.

Goodmorning JAZZNATION, What impressed me about last nights win not so much the score but that they got right back on the horse again and played defense after loosing one. In pass years even with Stockton & Malone they would almost certinlly have a let down when playing a weaker team. Like I mention last week the JAZZ have ARRIVED!!! Please JAZZNATION give a little love to Williamgrace in L.A .Remember I been a fan since hornicek came from Philidelphia.

Is just 1.7 during 12 min play. I am wondering if there is another backup center [who is not here to score] have that low rebounds/48 min?
Jimmy's sneakers | 10:59 a.m. Feb. 10, 2008
Jimmy likes what he saw last night out of Ronnie Price but thinks that the slow start of Jason Hart is just from growing pains. Jimmy thinks Jason Hart is the future back up of the Utah Jazz. The Jazz will make a run at the playoffs and Jimmy says Hart will be the back up in the playoffs.
Jazzsmack | 11:00 a.m. Feb. 10, 2008
You know I have dogged the Jazz all year but after I lost my churchball game last night I realized my basketball career just is not going the way I had planned. I now support guys like Jarron Collins and think that last night's game against Chicago showed that we have a deep team seeing what Price did. Every team needs role players.
Jimmy Jimmy | 12:13 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
I have found your comments entertaning in the past, but I hope this last one regarding Hart was tongue in cheek, otherwise I just lost my respect for your basketball savvy.
bill dalew | 12:31 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
I just did some research and found great news. To me, the jazz have the most favorable schedule left of any of the playoff contenders in the west. Looking at all the schedules, the Jazz have a serious chance to make a run at one of the top two spots and honestly I think Denver is the team that's going to fall out of the race and Houston's going to get in.
Jimmy's Stinkers | 12:48 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
Jimmy thinks wrong. Jimmy does not know what he is talking about. The Price is right for now. Later we will need another alternative not Hart.
Jake | 12:52 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
Price or Hart? What has Hart done? Plus Price has the local appeal having played at Utah Valley State. I think Sloan is starting to see that Price should be number 2 PG with Morris Almond #3 and send Hart packing. I hope Larry H. didn't pay much for this weak off-season pick-up.
Big Ben | 1:15 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
Have you all seen the new rumor on cnnsi.com? Ak for Big Ben. First glance I wasnt sure. But the more I think about it the more I like it. Puts Korver in the starting line up at 3. Brewer and Miles are coming along at the 2. Plus start Ben and Memo can play 4 or 5 off the bench. But what is better is Ben makes less money and his contract is over sooner. that way we sign D WIll to max and resign boozer. Please pull the trigger.

Donald Trump would say,

Jaron Collins, YOUR FIRED!
Jason "no" Hart, YOUR FIRED!

TRADE, TRADE, TRADE!!!!!!!!!
Jim's Sneaks need odor eaters | 1:39 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
If I have to watch Hart do his "hog the ball and clank a shot" routine again at the end of another quarter, I think I'll croak.

Price's game is better in every way. Hart is a serviceable 3rd-stringer, though.
OK... | 2:28 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
We should stop talking about Hart and Price now. Obviously Price is playing more minutes so lets just watch and be grateful. It is obvious Price is better... much better... than Jason Hart. You don't have to be smart to know that. So stop saying it everyone. Price is getting his minutes.
Blortimer | 2:39 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
I have to agree with "odor eaters'" stance on Hart's ineffective play at the end of quarters. Wear the shot clock down, brick a shot with 2 to 3 seconds to go, just enough time for the opponent to grab the rebound and blaze down the floor for a final desperation shot.
Hart just doesn't have the knack to help his teammates score. Whether Price is right, or not, Hart is a third string point guard and not able to effectively back up Williams unless the opponent is the Clippers.
Pric e is right | 2:51 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
I could not figure out why Sloan took Price out of the game in Sacramento. He was the only one in the 3rd quarter scoring point, playing defense and getting steals to start fast breaks. Next thing I know he is on the bench as Sacramento blow the Jazz out in the 4th quarter... Like another person wrote the Jazz are almost unwatchable with Hart running the team.
Did the Jazz lose? | 3:24 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
going by what this beautifully written article would suggest: "The Jazz, in fact, never trailed by fewer than nine after that." The Jazz must have lost by double digits?! Go Tribune!

Jimmy thinks someone has a low basketball IQ.
TMB | 3:46 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
Jazz are hott right now!!!
Now they need to focus on stopping the stars of the team they are playing and winning on the road.
What? | 3:50 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
Do my eyes decieve me. Did someone say they think Hart should be the back up to D-Will. Maybe they need to brush up on their basketball knowledge before making posts.
Jimmy | 4:52 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
I'm embarassed to have the same name as Jimmy's Sneakers owner, the self proclaimed sports guru.

The other Jimmy needs to either, learn something about basketball, stop talking to his sneakers, or both.
Jazzsmack | 5:29 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
I don't know who is using my name but they better stop it. All it shows you don't have the courage to voice your own opinions.

And I certainly haven't changed mine. And this game shouldn't change anyones either.

All the jazz have done is beat up a bad team with half their starting rotation out. Nothing to write home about.

They have don't nothing to show they won't win 50 games and lose in the playoffs again.

In fact, they are on tract to do what they have done for the last 25 years. Give false hope, take a lot of fan money and time and never win a championship. Many fans are happy about that. Others like me, we want more.

The fact is nothing has changed in 25 years. When LHM fisrt took over the jazz, he went after Dr.J, he wanted to win championships, but the easterners, the mangement team, got a hold him, And we have the model the jazz have been following for 25 years.

It's fine to enjoy winning seasons, I have for 25 years, but I don't enjoy them anymore because I know they are ultimately going nowhere. I want more.
Jazzsmack | 7:02 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
OK I have rethought this and I think that the Jazz do have a chance to win this whole thing. Things are looking better. We've won alot of games, and my spelling and grammar is getting better. I do wish we would have gotten Dr J but we did get chocolate thunder as a consolation.

I also want to retract my guess of less than 50 wins. I'm guessing 55.
TicketHolder | 8:08 p.m. Feb. 10, 2008
What makes me nervous is the rumor boards are on fire tonight with rumors of a purposed Andrei Kirilenko for Ben Wallace trade. Yes the money matches up but who in there right mind would trade a more productive 27 year old for lesser productive 34 year old? There is only one answer. LHM! If he can cut 21 million off the pay roll and have a fighting chance at signing D-Will to the max and still be under the luxury tax I believe he will pull the trigger. I would hate to see this happen but given the influx of big men to rival teams it doesn't sound so far fetched when you think about it. I don't believe defensively we will be better off but if you want to see D-Will remain in a Jazz uniform a trade like this is going to happen. As for Jimmy's comments on Hart all I have to say is"What you talkin about Willis?" Hart wouldn't be in the league if it weren't for the Jazz. I say dump him and Collins and make way for Fes and Almond.

Is there any doubt what have to say what I think about Hart as backup to Dwill?
Jazzsmack | 8:50 a.m. Feb. 11, 2008
Ok I figured it out I have a split personality. At night I sleep walk, get on the net and act like a jerk. Sorry to all I have offended, and sorry to my family for the embarrassment. Go Jazz 55 wins!!
Pleasedontplayhart | 12:13 a.m. Feb. 12, 2008
Price should be a starter on this team, yet he is a third string point guard? I support coach sloan, but if he would just wake up to reality I would appreciate it.
Price a starter? | 7:32 p.m. Feb. 12, 2008
How do you figure Price should be starting? Over who? Williams? Brewer? No he is where he belongs which is coming off of the bench, however, yes, he should be playing over Jason Hart.
yes price a starter | 9:11 p.m. Feb. 12, 2008
Not over williams, but as the 2 guard over Ronnnie Brewer. Those two games he played were not flukes.
