You know, what's wrong with our country is that too many good people argue about stupid things, say stupid things, and don't think before they act.
If our people living in this great country of FREEDOM would just wake up, really open their eyes, and be open-minded, they could see through some of the dirty tricks some of the candidates are doing, and the shallow promises they are making. It's not who sounds the best, or who can fake it, but who
truly wants to make a change for the better in America. It was Mitt Romney, but he's dropped out. I truly look forward to him running again and maybe, just maybe, the bigoted people of the world will see what he can do to heal America and let us be great in the eyes of the world again. I have travel the world extensively and am shocked at the disdain foreigners have for Americans. Could it be because our cowboy President was too bossy and lacked PR?! We need at this time a President who can talk well and LISTEN to the people. McCain & Huckabee don't have what it takes. All I can say is Help!

I'm a Mormon and voted for Obama. I like Romney's business skills, etc. but he believes in the radical position of many conservatives: get rid of illegals. Conservatives, evangelicals, and many in the Republican party are as dangeorus as some Islamic extremists! Latinos will decide who will be the next president of this country. Viva la Raza

Sometimes we don't get what we want - i.e., Romney is out, but perhaps not totally. The Huckmeister may, after all, see the "devil" in the Whitehouse. I believe McCain, if he is smart, will select Mitt for VP on the (R) ticket. That said - if you want to guarantee the appointment of more LIBERAL JUDGES who will continue to attack traditional family values, help propagate pornography, allow pedophiles and rapists to run rampant, then go ahead and vote for either Clinton or Obama. To all republicans - Think with your head, not with your emotions - do not vote democrat.

How sad for Mitt- even the Huckafreak outlasted him!
Mitt is wrong | 4:52 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
If Mitt thinks that dropping out is going to make it HARDER for Obama or Clinton to win the presidency he is dead wrong! He is making it easier because so many conservatives/moderates (myself included) would rather vote for a DEMOCRAT than for McCain!!!!
NOOOOOO!!! | 4:53 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
NOOOOOOOOO!!! Now who's going to ride in on the white horse and save the constitution that is hanging by a thread?!?!?!

I am glad he's out of the race. We don't need a President who puts down the faith of others ("European churches are great backdrops for picture postcards, but they are empty inside.") There's already enough prejudice in our world from religious extremists. We don't need one of these extremists being President.
Romney campaign bad for Mormons | 4:48 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
The Faith in America Speech (4:26 p.m.), "Didn't Romney say he saw his dad march with MLK in that speech? And didn't that turn out to be a blatant lie?"

Yes he did and it turned out that it was a lie because Romney is a liar who changes his position every election he runs in. Furthermore, not only did he say that he saw his father march with MLK he also backtracked and said he was only figuratively speaking and didn't see it with his eyes and then we learned that he also said "he and his father marched with MLK" so either he was blind when he and his father marched with MLK or he lied the first and the second time because he's a liar. It's sad to watch a member of the Church behave in this manner but liars are members of the Church too.

Romney's speech on faith was an attempt to use the Church for political gain and it was morally repugnant to do so yet the more I have learned about this man the more convinced I'm that he wouldn't be a good President and isn't a good member of the Church.

Wow, this is my first time out here and probably will be my last on the blogs. This, my friends, is the most disrespectful site I've ever been on. Some of you guys might want to think about moving on. There are other blog sites where you wouldn't have to subject yourself to this negativity and bad manners and the tone of speech is a lot more elevated.

MITT WE LOVE YOU>>>>THANKS FOR EVERYTHING...SEE YOU IN 2012!!

Ok the rest of you my carry on.

Charli -
I was with you until you suggested Mitt Romney was the man.
He told America he saw his father marching through the streets of Detroit with Martin Luther King. After being hard-pressed, his campaign people said this never happend.
Makes you wonder what ELSE Romney was lying about?
REP | 4:56 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
All mormons, you should be aware that america is watching your reaction to Mitt droping out. Did you really exspect 51% of the GOP to vote like the 98% of you all did. Such hatred and sour grapes from this religion. But a word of caution, he spared the church the wrath of hate not seen since the days of Joseph Smith and Brig. Young, because the DEM,s would have shown no mercy on the mormon church. Just watch the next few weeks how they attack each other, for the sake of winning. Then see if you still want to get revenge, by voting for Hillary or Obama. I predict that Mitt will be back in 2012.

Romney's bitter exit speech today sounded like a spoiled, rich baby wanting to take his ball from the game and go home.
We've already got one like that in the White House at this exact moment.
Baaaaa Baaaaa Romney Sheep | 4:58 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Do some of you Romney Sheep know anything about politics? Don't know who to vote for? Vote for what issues are important to you, rather than what religion someone is
Anna | 5:01 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Hey all you Huckabee supporters with negative comments...Are you trying to get Romney supporters on Huckabee's side or ensure they never vote for him ever. Just a thought. I am going with the latter on that one.
To "Captain Obvious" | 5:08 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Ironically, you don't know how to spell. It is OBVIOUSLY spelled "LOSER"......
James | 5:08 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
He really was the best candidate that has ran in decades. His expertise is unmatched. Maybe he will be VP or run again in 2012. I cannot vote for McCain or Huckabee so Obama it is. Voters who haven't voted yet should vote with write in votes for Romney. WE have learned a lot about America by Romney running. HE won 11 states and initially West Virginia. He received 4 million votes to McCain's 4.7 and Huckabee was left in the dust. The other candidates conspired against him and that is proven by the media. Their staff members would help each other out with dirt on Mitt. He had the republican base and commentators all backing him. This really has changed the republican party. Bigotry just fractured the party and maybe the chances of it staying in power.

Anonymous 5:02: I don't think you watched the same speech I did. He was classy, sophisticated and a very good sport. These are all qualities that you might try to cultivate. Clearly, you need them; you and a few others on here.

The Republicans CUT AND RAN out of AFGHANISTAN and tied us up in IRAQ war because sadam whiped his shoes on the MOSAIC TILE image of Bush Sr. on the ground infront of Iraq's capital building. Now Bush has created a mess when he did not let us finish our job in AFGHANISTAN. Republicans are SOOOO REPSONSIBLE for not capturing Bin Laden, al Qaeda, the Taliban. Republicans are SOOOOO RESPONSIBLE for the build up of al Qaeda, the Taliban. Republicans are SOOOOOOO RESPONSIBLE for the spread of al Qaeda and the Taliban. Republicans are SOOOOOO RESPONSIBLE for the POPPY FIELDS IN AFGHANISTAN that is funding the Taliban and al Qaeda. Republicans are SOOOO RESPONSIBLE for al Qaeda and other terrorists groups setting up in Iraq. Republicans are SOOOOOOOO RESPONSIBLE for not providing the necessary protection for this country by closing it's borders. Republicans are SOOOOOOOO RESPONSIBLE for arresting border security and charging them with attempted murder when the 2 border agents were PERFORMING THEIR JOBS. Republicans are the biggest threat to the American people. GOD BLESS OBAMA! PRESIDENT OBAMA

To "Hatuletoh", who said she scoffs at Romney's assertion that "freedom requires religion".

Let me know how you come to like your prison....

My sentiments exactly! Vote for Obama! I could not vote for Romney because of his views on immigration! And Iraq! Rally your Latinos, and I will work on my friends and family of European descent! And, by the way, I will keep working on learning Spanish!!!

PLEASE everybody read the excellent book "When Salt Lake City Calls" by Rocky Hulse and printed by Xulon Press. It is a real eye opener. I sincerely hope and pray that the scales that blind millions of Mormons to the truth of the lies they have been taught. May the risen and gracious Saviour Jesus Christ of Bibical Christianity be welcomed into your hearts and homes.

Now that Romney is out of the race. Will he send his sons to Iraq. Not - Romney is a flip floping hypocrite.
Anonymous | 5:25 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Romney's remark on Channel 4 that "God hasn't spoken to Man since Moses" was a slap in the face to those faithful Mormons who believe God spoke to Joseph Smith.
And they want THIS guy in the White House?
They really ARE a peculiar people.
Mmmm ... Crow. | 5:25 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Thanks to mitt many hungry, needy people can enjoy crow tonight.
What shall bulk up the news now that Mittster and Hinckley are no longer current?
The war? The economy? No. No sense attracting attention to these things. They are all caused by the clintons and the liberal media, of course, but it's best not to have anyone try to associate these with any republican presidency.
Andre | 5:21 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
How can you call Romney classy when it was him that initiated the Negative, attack ads against the other Republican candidates?
The other Republican candidates didn't dislike him because of his religion, and you know this is true. People in the senate, including John McCain, have nothing but good things to say about Senators Hatch and Bennett.
The Republican candidates disliked him because he constantly threw mud at them. He tried to buy the American people, but they legitimately rejected him in the election, and not because of his religion.
And lets be honest, even if he was a good candidate, Romney legitimately flip flopped when it was convenient, even more so than Mrs. Clinton, which says a lot. This is undeniable.
Please, all of you, grow up, and stop being so self-righteous.
If you feel so bad, vote for a third party and quit whining.
Woody | 5:23 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
We need to email Mitt to get him back in, or our country will suffer. There is not really any difference between the Democrat candidates or John McCain. I will still be voting for Mitt Romney, I may just have to write him in.
MoJules | 5:24 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Romney, my vote 100% chance.

Now that he has dropped out
McCain, my vote 50% chance

If McCain runs with Huck
McCain/Huck, my vote 0% chance
Anonymous | 5:32 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Romney, by association, is viewed as a person with a racist past: Blacks not being able to hold the LDS priesthood until just 30 years ago; Non-observance of Martin Luther King Day in Utah ...
If he had converted to Catholicism, he'd win by a landslide.
Shiz | 5:27 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
I am not Mormon and I voted for Mitt.
He was the best candidate.
I will vote for Mc"Cane"

I will write-in for Mitt.
Whoever you vote for, McCane should not win UT this election.

"he ended up standing for nothing but his own ambition" ... that's as true a statement as has ever been said about romney ... the man who went to bed at night was often radically different than the one who got up that morning ... if he had stuck to what he does best and not tried to be someone he couldn't be, he would have won the gop nomination and perhaps the presidency ... but now he joins the league of the john kerrys and the dan quayles ... after you shoot yourself in the foot, it's difficult to hide the limp..

With Mitt gone. Who do we vote for now?

The left-wing RINO or The Left-wing Democrat?

Mitt in 2012

Back to the varmint hunt for flippin' Mitt.

Maybe he can help Bush clear brush.
Creekster | 5:48 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Patience everyone! McCain's CPAC speech today was very conciliatory and gracious. He remains the obvious choice for moderates and conservatives alike.
Best speech | 5:55 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
To bad Mitt saved his best speech for last. I am a McCain supporter but I have to admit that was a pretty good speech.

To Anon 5:21 pm. If Mitt's sons want to enlist they can, if not they don't have to. There is nothing wrong with not serving, it is their choice and there is no dishonor by not choosing to serve. I served 10 years and did 2 tours in Iraq and that doesn't make me any better or worse than other Americans.

Pandering | 5:56 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
How can any American support the $170 billion stimulus package? Talk about pandering by Romney, this package is nothing but pandering to the masses.
Anonymous | 5:53 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
With Mitt gone. Who do we vote for now?
Why Rush Limbaugh of course.
Rushbo | 6:01 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
So just what about conservatives are always right and liberals are always wrong don't you understand?
Anonymous | 6:04 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
I heard no bitterness in his speech. Sure a lot of petty comments going.
RE: anon 5:32 | 6:06 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
If he converted to Catholicism he probably would of still lost. I think we have only had one catholic president in the United States. I am pretty sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

I also doubt his religion played a big factor in his defeat. He was competitive in most of the states, he just wasn't consistent on the issues and I think that hurt him most of all.

The sad thing is that Romney would have done better if he had been true... Why did he ever go after the crazy right wingers?

Now I will not be voting Republican for the 1st time in 42 years. Sent this statement to McCain this day also. John (Juan) McCain cannot win, he would give away our county to the Illegals.

John McCain went down to Georgia
He was lookin' for an election to steal.
He was in a bind, cause he was way behind,
And he was willin' to cut a deal.

When he came across a Gov'ner
Knawin' on a victory and chewin' hard
Huckabee jumped up on a hickory stump and said,
"Johnny, let me tell you what..."

"I bet you didn't know it but I'm a contender too
and if you care to take a dare, I'll make
a bet with you. Now you ran a good campaign down here,

Anyway you cut it ...
Romney is toast.
Orson Adams - Georgia | 6:14 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Mitt Romney's comments today concerning the Democratic candidates prove he is insincere concerning his Christanity, his love for this country, love for the youth dying in Iraq. It is time to stop the mistakes President Bush made.
Mitt Romney is a loser.
Thanks Huck | 6:09 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Thanks Huckelberry Hound. You just proved how intolerant and bigotted the Baptists are. I don't think it's a Mormon issue. It's a Baptist issue.
