Why in the world would anyone want another Republican as President considering
the disastous 7 years we have had with Bush. And as for Romney's rampage
about staying in Iraq...why are his children not fighting in Iraq! How phoney
can you get! God answered my prayers...Romney dropped out!!!!

I have to say I cannot vote for McCain unless he changes some of his views. The
only thing I can see happening is voting for him with Mitt Romney as his running
mate. Then at least we (the True Conservative Party) are one heart beat away
from the presidency. Other wise I think I will have to vote for Ralph Nater
should he run independant or "Libratarian". I don't know what to
do at this point in time.

A McCain-Romney ticket won't happen - as bad as McCain needs someone like
Romney on his ticket (Mitt provides geographic / tempterment / real world
experience / ideological balance), McCain won't do it - he doesn't
like Mitt - at all. He may pick Rudy or even Thompson, but you won't see
Mitt on the ticket.

As I heard someone say the other day - most politicians hope to be good looking, rich, and intelligent - most settle for 1 out of 3. Romney had all 3 and they couldn't stand him for it. Why he could not translate that into more votes, I'm not sure other than being the new kid didn't help.

I have come to conclusion that it does not matter who we elect as President.
What can one person do anyway?
Democrats call republicans crooks.
Republicans call democrats crooks.
Our nation has been run by these two parties fairly equally for many decades now and neither can take a greater portion of the blame. Neither have inspired hope.
We are pawns on a chess board being used by the parties to further party policies. If your democrat, have you ever asked why? Same if you�re republican. This is not the United States of Democrats or Republicans. This is the government of the people. If we continue to be divided along party lines we will fall. We must embrace the best of both parties and have a voice, our own voice, not the voice of our parties.
I do not know if Mitt would have been a good president or not, but in the course of his political career, he has been a good example of losing his voice to match what was popular. And that is not what we need now.
We will not have a nation much longer if we don�t stop the political banter and embrace communication.

It's amazing to me how anyone in the Mormon Church can maintain their
affiliation with the Republican Party when 30% of the party members (in more
than one poll) have stated, without reservation, that they would never vote for
a mormon in a national election. The bigotry in this party is over the top and
it's time to move on to the growing ranks of unrepresented independants.

winning Iowa and destory Mitt's momentum. If this country fail, or more

Whoever wrote this made the vain and ignorant assumption that most people do
about mormons - that our church "controls" us. Well, sir or madame,
we believe it's God that wants us to choose a lifestyle following those
commandments. If God tells me tea is bad, I won't drink it. I am an 18
year old who voted for Romney in the California primary, and am disappointed
that I have to choose the lesser of two evils in the general election in
November. McCain, while a Republican, is a liberal Republican, and claims to be
conservative. I'd vote Obama over him, because Obama is honest about his
liberalism. I'd take a younger honest man as president over the weasel
McCain/Huckabee ticket the GOP is sure to throw out now. Of course, if Billary
wins the Dem nomination, Americans will have sealed their decision to hasten the
country down the path to Hell.

The comments made for the most part have been positive. However, the Utah
Dumbocrats are out in full force it appears. Mitt Romney was the only viable
candidate because he was a Mormon. I doubt that any other so-called candidates
could ever get a temple recommend. It's about time we stood up for what we
really believe. Mormon values are America's values. They are based upon
hard work, not depending on the Government for bailing us out of our mistakes or
sins, and advancing the cause of liberty. We have the family values that say
there should be a Mother and Father in the home and no babies unless you are
married. We believe that a person can worship God as he sees fit, or a cow, the
moon, or whatever he wishes. There is no religious test for running for office
in spite of what Huckafool would want his evangelical sheep to believe. We
believe in the work ethic, a strong defense, and finally, the Constitution. Mitt
was a man of character because he was a Mormon and until our nation realizes
this they will continue to head toward destruction.

At least you got to vote for Mitt in Utah. Texas had been denied anyone worth
voting for now, and many of my friends (non Mormon) by the way, were voting for
Mitt. We now are stuck with the little emperor and the non conservative
Huckster. Well, it's nice to know some of Utah is going to the Democratic
side because I know a few Texans who just decided to move over to the blue side
including me. Perhaps we can paint the map blue including Utah on election day
and then after a disaster to the economy for 4 years, we can get the country to
see Mitt again. Hopefully by that time McCain will be living on his wife's
beer money in Arizona for 4 years, Huck will have taken a raft down the
Mississippi and people will want someone who knows how to make money for the

SCARE-SCARE- big business politics. When is the rest of the world going to take
part in this thing called terrorism? If this is such a important issue I would
think others would be with us sharing the burden, and especially Iraq's
government and citizens. How many years does it take to train soldiers? We take
private citizens into our armed service and for the most part they are trained
in less than a year and then are sent into battle, always in history has been
this way. Let's see others participate or safely get out of being the world

It's disappointing that the person with the best qualifications to run the
federal government has dropped out. As a lifelong Republican, and member of the
LDS church, I am going to have a very hard time voting for McCain. He's

Yes it is sad that Mitt bowed out. When it all comes down to it, and in the end
God will rule. Good will prevail over evil. We should be voting for the person
who will do the best job, not because of his religion.
I feel sorry for those who hate mormons. I agree with many others that say we should write Mitt Romney in. I cannot see myself voting for any of the candidates. Things will get a lot worse before it gets better, and people will wish that Romney was our President. He was the best man for the job.

I think Obama can protect America from home with the million dollars a day that
would be saved if the war was over. To say that staying in Iraq is the only way
to protect us from terrorists is to say the Iraq war was fought because Saddam
Hussein was working with Bin Laden. That is something I will never believe.
Obama also wants to talk to our enemies (Like republican hero Ronald Reagan
did). It is arrogant to say there is only one way to handle the security issue
and it is George Bush's way. And don't you think it would help the
current economic disaster if we weren't dumping one million dollars a day

It is sad for me to see Mitt suspend his run for the presidency, not because of
the states that did or did not go for him, but because of the religious bigotry
and hatred from evangelicals. This is something that has been carefully hidden
for the last century, but none the less nurtured and indoctrinated in the minds
of their little children. Like Gamaliel, a doctor of the law in Acts chapter 5,
you might find it a wise course to reign in your hatred and refrain from your
collusions, lest haply you also be found even to fight against God. Mitt won our
precint in Alabama, his values have resonated with honest men and women across
the conntry. I look forward with anticipation for him to resume his campaign.
But first we need to fix the pharisee problem in America.

This is the best thing that could have happened for the Republican party. Had
Romney won the nomination, his escapades with Bain Capital would have become
national news. How many poor working stiffs, conservative or not, would have
voted for him once they understood that much of his fortune came as a
"corporate raider", buying, selling, companys and company assets
without much if any regard to the human cost. Oh well, some say "that is
just the way it works" Well, if that is the way it works we might as well

Finally, Brother Mitt is out of the race. He will gradually fade from daily
public view. We Latter-day Saints can go back to "Blessed are the
peacemakers" and "Inasmuch as ye do these things unto one of the least
of these my brethren, ye do them unto me" and "We believe in being
honest and true" and "Renounce war and proclaim peace" and
"Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and render unto God that
which is God's." This foray of a suddenly transformed rightwing
Republican Mormon into presidential politics hurt us badly. Now we can get back
to what the mission of the Church really is.

Mitt Romney lost out because he "flip-flopped." Many of you posted
similar ideas, that he listened to his advisers rather than being "honest
with himself and not careen to the hard right for the sake of politics".
What you don't see is that, as a Mormon, Mitt Romney has lived a life of not being "honest with himself." He has been told by someone else what to believe for 60 years! His ability to think for himself has never developed to maturity (or at all).
Like most Mormons, he was indoctrinated with the idea that you don't take a stand on any absolute value; instead, you listen to what an authority says, then you pray for confirmation.
But that process is heretical (in the religious sense), irrational (in the logical sense), and a far cry from enlightened and independent thinking. That is the source of his "flip-flopping," and that is the cause of his demise as a political contender.

I'm not a word smith, but he isn't going to pick this campaign back up and start running again this year. So he quit!!!
Even he he does decide to run in the future, like 2012, it is a new campaign and doesn't warant the "suspend" title.
Besides, all we can do is hope and pray that a real Republican will rise up and run by 2012

It's time to push for Obama. Another Clinton white house is enough to make
even the strong weak. Hilary Clinton does not really have what is best for
America as her main objective. Hilary Clinton is in the race for Hilary
Clinton.
McCain's lack of presence in the Senate, shows his lack of leadership, and his lack of interest in our nation. I understand his past contributions to America, but recent actions speak louder than events that took place 35 + years ago.
Put politics aside, the only candidate that is putting America infront of themself, is Obama. Face it, he is much better than either McCain or the real Clinton.

However, I don't think McCain will win in November. People are sick of George Bush and more of the same.
So here are a couple predictions:
1. McCain loses in a landslide to whichever Democratic candidate he runs against.
2. You'll be begging for Romney in 2012 to come back and try to solve the countries considerable financial problems.
Things are only going to get worse. Hopefully in 2012 it won't be too late.
