Isn't insanity when you do the same thing over and over expecting a different result?

If so, then Sloans insistence on playing Hart over price is a sure sign of dementia.

My favorite Jazz guy is Korver. Those cupcakes in the white shirts are naughty.

Go Memo, Go Boozer, Go Learylenko
Sinan | 12:33 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Jazz has proved one more time that they're a real team with her great players. They play as same as a delay race. Perfect friendship, perfect heart. Only one thing to do to us is to BELIEVE. Because, it's in front of eyes that THEY BELIEVED.
GO JAZZ. I BELIEVE.
To Memo: I wished to see you in the game till the end but 15 points and 10 rebounds describe that you did your job. Thanks.

How BIG was the Korver trade? There have been multiple games, since his arrival, that he has made the diffence down the stretch knocking down shots, at the free throw line, or simply as another option to spread the floor.

Devastating.

Have to give D-Will his props as well. Toward the end of the game, he took it straight at Camby drawing contact and preventing him from being able to block it.

Boozer on the other hand continues to go to that fade away jumper against these tall guys like Camby and all that does is allow them to have the room and the legs to get up and block the shot. Boozer needs to go hard to the hoop and get to the line--especially at the end of games. In spite of his weak game we still one though.

They could of quit with all the fouls and missed opportunities but they hung in there and got a BIG WIN!!! Go Jazz!!

I'm Jazz's great fan in Seoul,Korea.

Jazz is unstoppable!!!
Almost sold | 3:50 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Harpring is finally taking a veteran leadership role here--the Jazz are super talented but still a bit too pretty and soft. I love that Harpring went down and elbowed Martin after Martin's takedown of Brewer. But question: why isn't Boozer mixing it up like this when guys get down low, or after they lay out his guy? Even Memo is getting a bit more physical. If /when Boozer takes on the role Harpring did in this game, I'll be completely sold on this group being the championship roster.

Si Player Poll votes ESA as the players pick for the most intimidating arena to play in...kudos to the crazy fans in Utah! But, could you start showing up before the game starts?

Korver has been a great addition and the Jazz are so now fun to watch!

Whoo! Whoo! It's a well-deserved win! D-Will is the star of the game and a big kudos to the Jazz team to make it happen! Go JAZZ!! Go all the way!!

DENVER Starting shooting guard Ronnie Brewer was out, his tailbone bruised but not broke.

Huh? Where are the editors at the Deseret Morning News? It should be broken, not broke.

Good grief, and it's the lead to the story, not something that was buried 10 paragraphs into the story.

Go Jazz!
Jimmy's Sneakers | 6:54 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Jimmy thinks this is exactly what the Jazz needed to prove their streak worthwhile. The Jazz are now 1-1 with Denver on the season with 2 games left to go. Jimmy predicts they will both be as hard played as this one.

GoodGuyGary | 7:07 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
"I was proud of guys, the way we fought in the game," Are you sure this is from Sloan's mouth?
BWT | 7:07 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
That was a great win! It's nice to have Harpring Healthy again, I believe he is and will be one of the key factors when the Jazz reaches the playoffs, you have to play physical if want to win in the playoffs.
Go Jazz!
Bob | 7:14 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Crazy Win, Only an a#1 "I coached my sons Jr. Jazz team and now I want the big job," classic dumb Utah Jazz fan would make a comment like that about Sloan in the middle of his ten game win streak. Sloan shows the character to not replace a man when he becomes injured. And while Ronnie did a great job while J, was out, and will probably earn the job, part of the reason the Jazz are so good this season is because they have character. That comes from somewhere and it isn't from a demented coach.
basketballjon | 7:20 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Hats off to the Jazz. I was so streeed out at the end of the 3rd that I actually went and cleaned the dishes to calm down. Williams is amazing, Harpring has got to be the most physical player in the league with a brain. What an asset. Korver was a steal from Sixers and has brought a new level to the Jazz. Millsap, Brewer, Boozer, Memo and AK freakin rule. Go Jazz
Chad | 7:31 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
One more thing. Am I the only one, besides Booner, who is getting tired off Iverson throwing himself around the court like he is having a seizure, causing almost all the contact all on his own, and then getting sent to the freebie line 1,000 times per game? The league seriously needs to review his tactics. Jeez, blow on him and he falls down, sliding 3 feet across the floor. He has taken flopping to a new level. If flopping is an art-form, Iverson most definitely is Picaso and Da Vinci rolled into one quivering, flopping, arm-flailing mass.
pdhitman | 7:55 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
those who say gira-korver trade doesn't make any sense to the jazz, well i think on papers they have almost the same stats, but intensity and chemistry wise, it shows that they got a better deal with it.

By the way, where are the sloan haters go???
not again pt2 | 8:11 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
HEY SLOAN LOVERS-

How did you like Hart's play?
How about CJ's lack of meaningful playing time
or Jerry's mastery of the tempo in the third?

Despite slown's best efforts, Deron and Korver pulled out a win.
annon. | 8:25 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
I don't hear any Salon haters anymore. That's interesting, i guess now they are playing well it's the players and not the coach, but when playing bad it's defiantly the coach...whatever.

Denver is full of cheap shot artists. They are a team of thugs. K-Mart (an appropriate nickname for someone who should be on clearance as a blue light special) is in the same chest pounding, not quite medicated enough, class of Ron Artest.

Aren't we glad O'Connor told Martin not to land his plane in SLC, as we had our new Power Forward, someone with CLASS - Carlos BOOOOZERRRR!!!!

I want to personally thank Sloan for having the leadership to decide headbands look stupid and shirt tails should be tucked in. Thank you Sloan for staying old school.

AI and Carmelo could learn a thing or two from Sloan on how to play basketball within a team. (Not to mention their ridiculous hair styles and headbands Sloan would never tolerate)

If you like watching unorganized playground basketball, where tackling and throwing people to the ground are actual plays, then GO Nuggets!

If you like precision offense, solid defense, and passing the ball, then you have your team - GO JAZZ!!!!!!!

Thank you UTAH for your class organization, a team to be proud of!

Brewer - hope you "cheek" is okay (thanks Pace for the great description of the injury)
Korver's a S.T.U.D. | 8:39 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
This game and the last game against New Orleans proved that the Jazz are no more than dirty, rotten thieves. We robbed Philadelphia of their best shooter, who has done nothing but produce for the Jazz, and left them with nothing in return. GO JAZZ!
go crazy win | 8:40 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
I have to agree normally I'm not a Sloan basher but Hart has issues. Price may not be real good now but a little more playing time and he'll be a strong backup point guard
English as a second language | 8:57 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
"Ronnie Brewer's tailbone is bruised not broke"--what kind of English is that? "BROKEN"!!!!

Give me a break!
ID Jazz | 9:12 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Fun game to watch. Great game if your a Jazz fan.
Deseret news could you take Sloans partial compliment and post it in the Jazz section cause I doubt you will see him say one again.
Since Boozer was selected to the ALL-STAR game his game has headed south. Maybe he should have been ousted like DWill then he might of been on a mission to prove them wrong. Lets go Carlos this team needs you. Go Jazz and I will be looking for tickets to watch Denver in SLC. You know the Jazz fans will be up for that game.
Creighton U | 9:27 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Korver could be the deal of the decade! Could be as good as the Hornacek Trade!
VEGAS JAZZ MAN | 9:32 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Great job Aston Korver!
I STILL HATE MANU GINOBLI FROM LAST WEEK!!!
Mike W | 9:37 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Great win! A perfect example of why this Jazz team will always finish ahead of the Nuggets. Jazz have class and poise, Denver has a ton of talent in the form of gangsters.

Williams is turning into one of the best finishers in the game, in the closing minutes this guy has ice water in his veins! I didn't see it, but love hearing Harpring retaliated on Kenyon "king of the thugs" Martin.
Josh | 9:49 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
I agree, Chad, although he's really small and often off balance, and with all the contact bound to happen since he drives to the hoop all the time, he gets knocked around more easily. He's probably the most difficult to defend of anyone in the NBA unless you get help-defense from your big men going, which the Jazz did very well last night.

Boozer had a bad night offensively but he grabbed some boards and his defense was solid.
Sloan is slow | 10:01 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Look, Sloan is a great coach. But come on, Hart has not done anything this year. Heck, put Milsap in at guard.

Korver Rocks. Boozer, when your shot isn't going in you got to take it to the hole. (3-14).

Daron Williams is far suprior to AI. Iverson is a rag doll on the court. Every shot he ends up on the floor. In Soccer he would've had a red card by the 2nd quarter.

jzajazzfann! | 10:06 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
How long will it take for sloan to figure out, that hart is absolutly worthless to the jazz. Ronnie price could of had a break out game against carter, hart needs to retire, and go work on being a sales man. Because he sucks right now on selling any fans on his pitiful play. Jazz front office, please sign kruger of the flash, and give ronnie the second string and save your self some face. and waive hart, his trade value is worthless
Bodhi K | 10:11 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Why does Carmella Anthony hava a Warner Bros. tattoo. What an idiot!

Who is Gordan Giricek?

Go Jazz!!!!
mk | 10:08 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
How do you spell soft...Boozer & Memo. The only reason Denver got back in the game was because they bullied the jazz. Martin would have had his block knocked off coming down the lane if Malone were here. Harpring was a man, D'Will is fearless, and Milsap doesn't back down. Aside from that they should be wearing skirts.
Sloan Basher?? | 10:16 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Not me but I do not understand Jason Hart. I want Ronnie Price with those minutes.
FORCE | 10:16 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
I FORGOT KORVER---WOW---WHAT A PICKUP...GASOL TO THE LAKES MAY TURN OUT TO BE BIG, BUT IT WON'T HELP THEM ANY MORE THAT KK HAS HELPED THE JAZZ...THE MAN CAN FLAT OUT STROKE IT.....
Jazz win 10 straight | 10:26 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
dont look now but the utah jazz have won 10 straight! and lead the northwest division by 2 games! keep it up! jerry please bench hart! play price!
Re:sloan lovers | 10:24 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Nice 10 game winning streak however, lets take a look at Sloan a little closer:

0 championships
0 All Star Games coached
0 Coach of the year
0 USA basketball head coaching wins

How are you a "hall of fame coach" if all of your accomplishments results from the regular season and simple longevity???

20 years doing things his way has produced some success, but when you have Stockton and Malone together in their prime for 10 years and we consistantly getted knocked out in the first round, and our high point is losing to the Bulls in 6 games, I wanted more. Don't forget we missed the playoffs 4 years in row.

Sloan is an average coach (fired by the bulls) who has an overly loyal owner. Why give Sloan all the power for the last 20 years??? I have a feeling Boozer and Williams are going to end up with great career stats and no rings because Sloan is not the great coach a lot of you think he is. He takes all the credit when the the Jazz win, and zero blame when they lose and the owner backs him up everytime.
Good game | 10:31 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
A few things I saw last night:

Home cooking- How many times can Carmelo Anthony hook Kirilenko and get away with it? Or push off on Millsap and then Paul gets the foul?

Najera should have gotten a technical for what he did to Harpring with the hard foul and then he pushed him, and by the way Najera you don't want none of Harpring I guarentee that.

I thought the Jazz got a lot of tough calls last night yet they kept their cool and won. Denver is full of selfish players that want to get theirs and have no interest in playing defense with the exception of Camby.

What was Iverson thinking? He is such a poor defender, just left Williams wide open for a 3.

I am not sold on Carmelo, I do not think he is the start people think, in fact I believe he may be the most over rated player in the game, stats or no stats.

Kenyon Martin is dirty as he always has been and cannot make a foul shot. D-Will got snubbed by the all-star game when Brandon Roy made it over him, Willie has a fire lit under him!
Cory | 10:29 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Trust me Chad you are not alone. I hate watching AI more than any other player in the league, paired with Melo and Martin I find them to be the second most hated team in my book (following closely behind the Lakers). It's really too bad too because AI has some special abilities and more energy than I've ever seen, I haven't found anything I like about Melo yet. The refs yesterday weren't great but I will give them props on the fact that they didn't fall for most of AI's flopping. I also agree that the league needs to do something about this, flopping is an ebarrassment and it makes their refs look like fools.
SLOAN LOVERS | 10:31 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
P.S. I was screaming at the T.V. for sloan to post up A.K. on Melo for like five freaking minutes before Melo fouled out. Hart please!!! the guy shoots 31 percent. You all are right, he shouldn't lose his job cause he got injured. He should have lost his job because Price played better and Hart sucks!! Also Korver in the post with Carter on him would have been a nice move instead of Booz getting the ball when obviously he wasn't having the greatest night. Thanks, D-will for bailing out your coach who never takes advantage of matchup's.

Let's stroll down memory lane Sloan lovers....B-dog sitting on the bench after he helped torch the Bulls in the game before and all the announcer's saying he was the key to the series. The key to the series sitting on the bench!! That or Jerry's insistence on playing his second unit at the start of the 4th qtr against Michael and Scotty until we lost every lead we built up to that point in the series.......don't forget Jazz fans!!!!! I say Horny for the next coach of the Jazz, hell he's done more for A.K. than Sloan ever has!!!!
Mark Eaton | 10:43 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
FYI, Sloan wore the same sports jacket when I was still playing! Yow-za!
Kobe the Gloryhog | 10:51 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Great win over the NUG-THUGS,whats with Kleiza, looks white but sounds like a brother,a white thug???...Wish we had a couple more Harpring`s,need to get Milsap more minutes...
Phil | 10:48 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Great win! Jazz showed alot of character and heart. Korver,D-Will,and Harpring rock. Milsap, and Memo too. I like the way Harpring backs up his young team mates with classy toughness. I'm soooo glad we took Boozer over the max contract Kenyon "cheapshot artist" Martin. The sad thing is the league will do nothing about it, they promote the "hip hop thugs".

Price > Hart ( Come on Jerry, everyone knows your in
charge, but the Price is right.)
RE: Proud | 11:11 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
My sentiments exactly. Amen!
Anonymous | 11:20 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
I understand the Price vs. Hart contention, but the one thing everyone is just might be overlooking is that Hart is a better defender. Not even a question. And what's the big difference in the Jazz lately? Anyone? Anyone? That right. Defense. Their numbers are very similiar, but one can defend. Anyone else think that Jerry Sloan, one of the best defenders of all time ( and one of a select few to have his number retired in Chicago), might prefer a defensive minded player (especially when you have some big time softies surrounding him)? To me, it's a toss up. Gotta score points to win, but ya also gotta stop the other team from throwing them down at will.
i agree | 11:19 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Sloan Lovers i loved your post. I thought the same thing post up A.K and get CRYmelo out of the game. I'm not a sloan fan by any means i think he gets way to much praise for how the team is doing. D-Will is the taking over that leadership role like we all thought he would do a bit earlier and its huge. Korver is the man. Sadly this trade just shows how big of a flat tire on the bus Giri was. We got to get fridays game its huge and face it Arco is not the jazz's favorite place to play. Boozer love ya baby but your our bread and butter and right now your playing like the crust take a page from D-Wills book and get a fire lit. I see the jazz not loosing a game before the All -Star break.Go Jazz.
sloanhater | 11:24 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
sloan should be fired. why did he let heartless play over price? trade sloan!
re: Chad and Cory | 11:38 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
I love that someone else recognized what I have always seen Allen "flop" Iverson. In fact a month or so ago I listed my all nba 1st flop team. Here it is, let me know what you guys think:

1-Manu Ginobili (don't get me started on him)
2-Allen me myself and Iverson
3-Raja Bell (just watch him, you'll see)
4-Bruce Bowen
5-Anderson Varejao

Honorable mention- Derek Fisher (Fish is good but does flop)
Jazzfan in Denver | 11:33 a.m. Feb. 7, 2008
