H.S. football fan are you saying brady is a better player than nicholson or had a better game? In any case i would like to hear your explanation as to how you came up with your assessment. Skyview beat West and that is all that is important football,is team sport not an individual sport! But for the record rb's go head to head against lb's
Anonymous | 4:16 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Someone asked for an update on Timpview's player, so I gave them.
andrewute1 | 4:27 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Wow i cant believe utah st fans are getting in on this? When was the last time you beat either utah or byu ya shut up. And by the way what was the utah vs utah st basketball score this year, ya they really dominate huh. UTAH 59, BYU 83 'NUFF SAID (RIVALS.COM). UTAH WILL BE IN A BCS GAME NEXT YEAR, MARK MY WORDS! GO UTES!

GO UTES!!

P.S. Utah dominated the recruiting scene in utah! BOOM!
Great Classes | 4:31 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Both Utah and BYU have signed great players and the rivalry should be good for years to come. Just checked on Rivals, and after all the smoke cleared from yesterday, Utah finshed tied for 59th with Fresno St., BYU 83rd, and look the Aggies finished 101st. Kaveinga decommiting really hurt BYU's final ranking.
BYU1 | 4:39 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
We won't know for several years who won the recruiting battle, so all you Yewts trying to find ANYTHING positive about your program - so you claim you won the recruiting war with BYU - GET A LIFE.

Bottom line is "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY?" And I think we all konw the answer to that - both in football and basketball!

Until you beat us in something other than women's basketball or women's gymnastics, Yewt fans have nothing to harp about, so climb back down your hole and don't come out until you ACTUALLY WIN SOMETHING.
Snow/Brent Guy | 4:43 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Snow gets the best guys that nobody knows about...I think they take notice in how intense a player may be and how much they let it out on the field...everybody else takes players based on their size and their 40 time...

Granted, Snow is in a lower division, but I guarantee they would beat USU...but then again, I would probably choose Snow over USU, hoping for a chance to move on to bigger and better things, like Utah or BYU...at USU, you are just stuck in a terrible program for 4 years...
HS FOOTBALL FAN | 4:56 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
To curious panther,

I went to that game to watch those two players because of what I had read about both of them. The Brady kid made plays the entire game on both sides of the ball and the other kid (Nicholson?) had one good run and took himself out of the game at least 6-7 times. I know this because I was standing on their sideline the whole game. Brady is the better player having seen them both a few times. That is my opinion. Time will tell.
RE: Brent Guy | 5:06 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Sam Langi didn't qualify for D1 Ball, that is why he goes the JC route. Probably a few others. They are better off at Snow anyways, they will learn more, get reps and then go play for Utah or BYU.

BTW...NICE job on winning the instate battle UTES!!!!

GO UTES!!!! BCS in 08!!!!! (doesn't that remind you all of those overzealous BYSpew fans?) Now maybe they can see how silly they look!
To Anonymous | 5:05 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
I don't think they were actually asking for updates on TV's players. I think they were poking fun of Timpview by saying they had a recruiting class (like a college). However, I'm glad that you gave an update on their players, because they were great, and I was interested. I'm more tired of people crying about Timpview than I am of anything else, and no, I'm not a Timpview fan.

Congrats to all the recruits and good luck at the next level.

One more thing about USU recruits vs Snow College. I know of at least one Snow College recruit who turned down a full ride to USU. What does that say about the program?
Get rid of Guy | 5:33 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
If you want fans in the stands Guy. Then try building a Utah program. USU fans don't want to watch a low class California team. Bad mistake letting Kado Brady get away. Look at what Stew is doing. JC Carroll, Nate Harris, Spencer Nielson, Tony Brown, Tai Wesley, Tyler Newbold, Wilkinson.... and on and on.... What do they all have in common? They all grew up within three hours of USU. Enough said.
Kade Wesson | 6:50 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
The University of Utah won't really be that good again until they start recruiting more from the southern utah area. Towns like paguitch, kanab, circleville, toquerville, and Hurricane are ooozing with the kinda talent and red-neck appeal the U of U is really known for. They've been getting away from their roots as of late, and until they get back to the "i eat road kill and wear wife beaters" look i just don't see them doing well. Lets see some utah scouts at some Blanding games for crying out loud! Go Utah and Go mulletts!
BBKing | 8:09 p.m. Feb. 7, 2008
Truth be told, Snow may have had a better recruiting class, at least close to as strong, as BYU or Utah.

Many junior college recruits are actually top notch athletes that struggle in other areas, primarily academics. Too bad Ricks College went the way of all the earth, and what happened to Dixie St? Right now we have one pipeline for D1A football in the state, that both BYU and Utah tap into: Snow.

For all of those players Snow recruited, I bet half of them get another big billing in two years when they sign with BYU, Utah, USC, Michigan, etc. Seems to happen every year.

Now these are the kids we need to keep in state one way or another!

Oh, go BYU!
curious panther | 12:01 a.m. Feb. 8, 2008
to h.s school football fan,

Brady was a good hs school football player, and I wish him the best in whatever his future holds but he is not better than Nicholson!and if or when he gets the oppurtunity to play at the next level, then we can say time will tell until then
Check out their respect videos on scout.com The eye in the sky don't lie.
SJ Bobkins | 12:14 a.m. Feb. 8, 2008
It's amazing the only time I hear about Utah beating BYU in anything major is when I read the comments. On the field or court it's BYU winning. Only in the minds of the yutz do the 2009 BCS bound yutz (for sure) win over the Y . Oh and you're so right, ALL the News writers are huge BYU suck-ups/on the BYU payroll secretly/were threatened by the Danites to always push BYU or die/have been warned by their bishops, pastors, or priests, that they HAVE to always be complimentary of the Cougars lest they lose their reward in Heaven.
another HS football fan | 7:39 a.m. Feb. 8, 2008
curious panther= I have no ties to either West or SV, I just get to travel and watch games. But, can tell you with no uncertainty that Brady was the better player. He playes both sides of the ball and is begging for all the time he can get and making the big plays that win the game. Nicholson is a good player, but not the same caliber. His dad was a team-mate of Bronco's as it said in the paper. Enoungh said. Brady is playing at the next level from what I was told last night, and yes, time will tell!
BYU Sports | 7:52 a.m. Feb. 8, 2008
BYU Sports are Testimony builder for me. If the the church can survive BYU sports, and people like SJ Bobkins, it's got to be true.
Commando | 7:55 a.m. Feb. 8, 2008
So does Utah think it is keeping up with BYU? We beat the whole conference AGAIN in a rebuilding year, and we have a TON of offense coming back, and our deepest position is the defensive backfield. We will likely start the year ranked in the top 20, which will make us the favorite non-BCS team to get a BCS bowl this year. Plus we have a SICK class coming in...what recruit --in-state or not--does Utah have that they wouldn't trade in a nanosecond for either Holt or Sorensen? Yeah, that's what I thought. Add to that our insane out-of state guys -- names like Chambers, Bruner, T'eo-- and even the most casual of observers can see that the new Bronco Mendenhall era of conference domination/national prominence is clearly in full swing!
In defense | 11:35 a.m. Feb. 8, 2008
to hs football fan,

Your right and the coaching staff of the #1 team in the mountain west and 14th ranked team in the country are wrong!or maybe its that
Brady ran an 11.52 @ byu and Nicholson ran a 10.85 @ east and an 11.04 @ davis. If he wouldnt risk his career for coach kafusis nephews peter @ ball state and David who signed with Michigan state then why would he risk it for a teammates kid unless that kid was deserving. Enough said!
HS FOOTBALL FAN | 12:14 p.m. Feb. 8, 2008
in defense,

You post one time of Brady? Maybe that wasn't his best time? And the last time I checked being fast isn't the only thing that makes a player. You have to be able to do everything. You have your opinion, I have mine. I can't help it if yours is wrong!
RE: Tarheel Ute | 12:35 p.m. Feb. 8, 2008
Exactly my point. I thought my comment was obvious.
HS fan | 12:47 p.m. Feb. 8, 2008
In defense- Brady ran and qualified for the finals in four events at BYU. His strengths are the 200 and 400. I covered the event down there and don't remember Nicholson. I just watched them both play 2 times this year (once against each other) and Brady had no problem having his way with Nicholson. And, yes, enough said!
Amazed | 12:51 p.m. Feb. 8, 2008
In defense Even coaches make mistakes! Alot of them, in fact. You've heard the saying "It's all who you know!"
In defense too | 12:59 p.m. Feb. 8, 2008
To in defense- Brady only ran the 100, one time before trying it at state. I am sure if he ran it seriously he could get a better 100 time. Both are good athletes. Good luck to both of them where ever they play. They have both worked hard and deserve to go on!
l | 1:37 p.m. Feb. 8, 2008

hs fan,

What did brady do against highland and what did nicholson do against highland? vs. skyview 9 carries 47 yards 2 receptions 36 yards 1td 2 returns 60 yards 143 all purpose yards and 6 tackles, not great but good all around game.
Really this is all in good fun, but still individuals dont win games, teams do. Skyview put all their energy in to stopping him. Nicholson did all he could to help his team win just as brady did!Having his way with him come on dude!they were never matched up against each other, taking himself out of the game one or twice oh my heck even bugs bunny got tired but i dont recall brady playing every down either, other times were coaches decisions. as far the track thing 200 times nicholson 22.0 brady 22.7. The most imporant thing however is that these two young men with their enormous talents are saving their parents a ton of money!
get over it | 1:46 p.m. Feb. 8, 2008
RE:HS football fan and curious panther
Let's see I would guess there were 40+ players on the Snow college team and 80+ players on the oregon state team. 2 years at snow 3 years at oregon state, if half were back in the consecutive years that would mean the 200+ fathers that played with him should have it made!! Bronco won't have to recruit anymore! too bad for you high school fan and too bad for every other hs player that aspires to play at BYU. those positions are already taken!
Funny! | 2:41 p.m. Feb. 8, 2008
RE: Get over it- Yes you are really funny. But, you have to admit it does happen SOMETIMES!!!
HS FOOTBALL FAN | 2:49 p.m. Feb. 8, 2008
To:l,
Sky View played Highland of Idaho and buried them. Brady didn't need to play much on offense that game. West played Highland of Utah.
To:get over it,
When we want your opinion we will give it to you!!

Is usu Guy all wised up? Guy is keeping up the old football name of "shocking pokes (aggies)" Maybe your recruits will get a good education because their football career is doomed.

Re l- When and where did Nicholson run his 22.0 200?
another fan | 4:36 p.m. Feb. 8, 2008
Brady ran a 22.4 to win the region 5 title. He ran a 22.7 at state and both of these times were after running a 400. He wasn't even fresh!!
