And the beat goes on, and the beat goes on...

McCain loves Huck. Do the math in the races and you can see that Mac needed Huck to hold off Mitt.

Mitt must be sick with envy. Here he is ready to lead and the Huckster stops him, hands the award to McCain, and then picks up the vp slot.

It pays to have manners. Huck hasn't been throwing mud at the front runner. Mamma taught him right. And his reward will be the vp slot.

Of course, it is all for naught. It will be a democrat year. You can see it in the crowds and the enthusiasm. Oh well. At least the summer won't be a waste if we can all go fishing at Mirror Lake or somewhere like that. Big hook, big worm, everything will be fine with the world.

If it ends up being a Mcain/Huckabee ticket I will vote democrat 1st time in my life. Politics is dirty, and I don't much care for the colision of Mcain and Huckabee.

To a so-called conservative: Voting democratic - or is it socialistic? - is not the answer. We need to vote for the most conservative person available if we are to be true to conservative principles and try to adhere to the less government, constitutional oriented ideas of conservatism. If the democrat/socialists win in November you don't want them to win in a landslide - or think that they have some kind of a mandate from the people. Remember, it takes more than the president to pass and sign laws into effect.

I agree I will be voting not republican this year barring a miracle of some sort. A hail mary..
Mahershalalhashbaz | 11:53 p.m. Feb. 5, 2008
I'm voting for the democrat this year too. Go Obama. I hear he is actually more liberal than HIllary, but I can't help but like him more than Hillary anyway. EEEEEGGGGGGAAAAADDS. Anyone but McCain or his lover Hillary!
Rico | 12:24 a.m. Feb. 6, 2008
Voting for McCain is not voting for a conservitive.
Why vote for liberal, dirty McCain when I can waste my vote on a real Democrat. I saw McCain tonight, he looks terrible. If the huck is his vp, there's a good chance he'll wind up being our slimy leader when McCain croaks.
I concur, for the first time in my life I'm voting for a Dem. [then I'll go outside and puke]

I simply cannot support McCain or Huckabee. I have always been Republican, but After watching Huckabee's subtle anti-mormon jabs, and constant personal attacks on Mitt, as well as McCain's lies and his arrogant mentality, I have no respect for either of them (or governor Hunstman who supports McCain, it didn't feel right seeing governor Hunstman standing behind McCain during his speech tonight). I will be voting Democrat this november, on a local and national level.
Alaska | 1:47 a.m. Feb. 6, 2008
Some how Alaska was left out. But the Daily New Miner for Fairbanks reported "With 80 percent of districts reporting in the Republican vote, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney took roughly 43 percent of the vote, beating former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, with 22 percent, and Arizona Sen. John McCain and Texas Rep. Ron Paul, each with less than 20 percent."

The race isn't over yet.

God help this coutry if Hillary or McCain are elected!!!

Mormons have NEVER been truly accepted by conservatives and it is time for you all to admit it. And for good reason... Mormons really can't be conservative. They are not war-mongering, prideful, greedy and selfish. The Book of Mormon forbids it. Any conservative evangelical can read the Book of Mormon and realize that Mormons have a totally different worldview.

Romney lost this thing the minute he reinvented himself as a conservative.
Diamondladi | 7:22 a.m. Feb. 6, 2008
Mitt hasn't attacked McCain- he doesn't need to- he only needs to point out his record. Its not over till its over- I think he can still pull it out. It will be interesting (Just like Pres. Hinckley told Romney (Romney's quote) He said that it would be interesting if he won, or if he lost. Its certainly been one of the most interesting races in years.

I too will be voting democrat for the first time in my life. I will also campaign HARD to try to get others to do the same. I honestly believe Hillary to be a more honorable candidate than McCain. He is true slime. I lived in Arizona for years nad he leaves a trail of enemies wherever he goes.

He was 5th from the bottom in his military class - his dad pulled strings to keep in in - he was disruptive - a bully.

He's ridden coat tails his entire life - no real accomplishments of his own.

I do honor his military service including his sacrifice and suffering as a POW. But that isn't credential enough to be president.

He dumped his wife who was loyal during his POW years for a much younger, much wealthier woman.

This is not an honorable man. He's angry, and unstable. You don't want his finger on the buttons in the white house.

I am disgusted with the republican party. McCain is their man! Between the party and the liberal media people like Romney and Paul didn't stand a chance. I think I will write in a candidate this year. Charlie Brown could do a better job than the choices we have now. But, I'd rather have a democrat in there. At least we know where he/she stands. I for one am no longer a republican. Does McCain look like a claymation character? or that just me?
Gayle | 8:49 a.m. Feb. 6, 2008
I actually think an Obama presidency would be good for the Republican party. Can anyone say Jimmy Carter? Fact is he hasn't done a single thing as a Senator, so what is he going to be able to do as president?
HardChoice | 9:08 a.m. Feb. 6, 2008
For the first time in my very long adult life it appears that I will not be able to support the Republican nominee. Voting Democrat as a response to Republican principal failures would be like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Its childish and damaging. I will continue to vote for principled conservatives and if there is no choice I will right in a name. I WILL NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES VOTE FOR ANYONE THAT WILL TAKE THIS COUNTRY CLOSER TO SOCIALISM. This means Clinton or Obama or anyone who pledges alliagence to them or to Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi (a vote to make them majority leader or speaker is a pledge of allegiance in my book).
Curious | 9:16 a.m. Feb. 6, 2008
I'm not a Paul Fanatic, but, assuming he runs for president as an independent after the primaries, I'll probably vote for him as a "message" vote. To all the disenchanted conservatives out there, wouldn't a vote for him be more palatable than a vote for Hillary?
Dick | 9:37 a.m. Feb. 6, 2008
Amen to Hard Choice. If Mitt doesn't win We can still write his name in. A person with true INTEGRITY can not vote for any of the other choices. Because the other choices have no integrity. Absolutely none.
Rico | 9:50 a.m. Feb. 6, 2008
HardChoice, Voteing for a moderate Democrat such as Hillary as opposed to an unstable candidate such as McCain, is not a knee-jerk response. Did anyone see the clip of john singing bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran to the tune of Barbara Ann? Is this the man we want leading this county. mccain also wrote the amnisty bill and was involved in the Keating fiasco and supports nafta the world bank and etc..ad nauseam.
No voting for a dem is not cutting off anything but support of an unteniable candidate..ps it's write in not right in.
HardChoice | 10:24 a.m. Feb. 6, 2008
Rico - if Hillary is moderate who do you think is liberal/progressive? I think she's about as left wing as you can get, she's just not honest enough to come out and tell us. She danced all around George Steph....s (can't spell his name) question about whether she would fine people, or garnish their wages to force them into her health care plan. She would not use the words fine or garanish, but she repeatedly said that they would have to come in. That does not sound like a moderate approach to me. This is just one of the reasons I can't vote for her. Your comment about McCain points out some of the reasons I won't be voting for him.

I know its "write" not "right", just a play on words. Thanks for not calling me stupid for doing it.
