Fiberglass oxen? How cheap and very tacky, tacky, tacky! Modern Mormon architecture is such an embarrassment. They remind me of bad World Fair pavilions.

Moroni is also made of fiberglass.

There hasn't been an architecturally significant temple built since the one in Alberta Canada.

The term McTemple is apt.

What about the stunningly magnificent San Diego California Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

I personally like the Boutiful Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

And the more recent award winning Boston Massachusettes Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

If it's not gonna hurt, please use fiberglass or whatever kind of glass. Thank you!

San Diego Temple is the "award winning" temple.

The San Diego California Temple was honored as Headliner of the Year for 1993 in the landmark category by the San Diego Press Club.

For its efforts during the open house of the San Diego California Temple (which received 700,000+ visitors) to increase public awareness of the Church and the role of the temple, the Church was presented with the Public Relations Society of America's prestigious Silver Anvil Award in the category of special events and observances by non-profit organizations.

McTemple? If that's the case, I'm lovin' it. The blessings of the temple going all over the world are more important than what materials are used. That's part of why I joined this Church (besides a testimony). Things are more simple with substance over style.

I am with Anonymous at 3:00pm, I don't care if the temples are not at the top of architectural standards. People gripe about the church having so much money, and I hear people gripe about building huge Cathedrals instead of feeding the poor.
I love the small temples. They are not architectural masterpieces, but they are still well built and beautiful. And this way the saints in Hondurus and Paraguay can go to the temple without spending their life's savings. If you want the temples to be more ornate than donate to the temple constuction fund and maybe they will be.

It will be a blessing to countless generations. It will inspire those who are receptive to the Spirit. We are so blessed to have temples in our midst. We served in a mission where the Saints sacrificed so much for the privilege to be sealed as families. They know their temple is a place that is holy, although it may not be the most grand building on the earth. They are happy to remove the shoes from their feet because they know they stand on holy ground. They seek spiritual blessings. When they exit, hopefully "Holiness to the Lord" is written in their hearts.

Actually, the reason the San Diego Temple was so beautiful, on the inside, is because the interior decorators were a pair of Catholics, a male and female, who later married btw, and remain Catholic. (I learned all of this from a temple worker who gave me a personal tour after the session I attended) As a former Catholic myself, I noticed immediately the Catholic seating arrangement the first time I attended the SD Temple. Modern Catholic Churches have the same semi-circular seating design which is one of the requirements for new churches because of Vatican II. There are other Catholic touches thru-out the temple too. Too bad most members have no appreciation for what they did.

as someone who now only has to drive 2and1/2 hours instead of 13 hours, i am very grateful for the smaller temples. Palymra temple is very small, but i wouldnt wish for anything else, it is beatiful to the members who benefit from it being close.

Temples are oracles of the Lord. I wish people would be careful what they say about these sacred buildings that are dotting the earth. I am from Africa, our bus ride to the nearest temple was 24hrs but it was worth every mile. The blessings dont last 24hrs. Did i even care about it being the size of an apt? No,i was only grateful that i could go and feed my spirit.
I have been priviledged to be here and drive to the temple 30mins away or 5mins away in the case of Rexburg Temple. I was at the groundbreaking of this temple,i saw it being erected,i was at the open-house and i was at the dedication and the work has just began.
I am grateful for temples. My heart is full and my feelings cant be expressed in words,if you've been there you understand.
By the way, my favorite temple is San Diego temple and it took me ten years to see it in person. The first time i saw it, i was at home(Africa) and it was on the back cover of the ensign and the picture was taken at night. It blew me away.
