It is unfortunate but if Jason Hart stays on the injured list the Jazz are a better team
Williams was Robbed | 6:21 a.m. Feb. 5, 2008
If the NBA All-Star game weren't being played this year in New Orleans do you think both West and Paul from the home team would have made the squad? The NBA is playing to the locals and also trying to save on airfare.

I can hardly wait until the Sonics move to Oklahoma City where Kevin Durrant and Barry Switzer will represent the Okies at the 2012 All-Star classic.

Don't forget to stretch properly, Deron. Good luck!

I would have to agree. | 8:05 a.m. Feb. 5, 2008
Both Hart and Collins are liabilites. As long as sloan gives them the garbage minutes the more games they will win.
ID Jazz | 8:32 a.m. Feb. 5, 2008
Is it me because I am biased towards the Jazz because I swear the Jazz never get calls from the refs. Ronnie Brewer was a victim of technical that he did not deserve and when CP3 drove the lane and fell down they called a foul on him. I am always miffed that with three refs on the floor how many calls are missed and how many are let go especially towards the Jazz. I always laugh when a ref on the opposite side of the floor calls a foul that has a ref standing right on the play. What could he possibly see through four to six players that the ref right on the play cannot.
I don't know that I even care so much that there is bad calls made (their human) by the refs as long its at both ends(consistent).

To Williams was robbed: Yea, and when the Oklahoma franchise is sold to Las Vegas owners in 2013 the 2017 All-Star game will feature Wayne Newton and Shaquille O'Neal II. With halftime entertainment by an interactive hologram of the Rat Pack, Liberace and Celine Dion.

Why is Kirilenko always hurt.. or always has the flu.. back always aching... etc etc. He's not going to last much longer in this league at this rate.

You think that SlowN will run the SILENT auction at the fund raiser?

HUUUUUMMMMMMNNNNNNN As Artie Johnson used to say " Very interesting".

To: ID Jazz

It is self-fulfilling prophecy. The Jazz have led the league in fouls for so long, and Sloan is known to be a hard-nosed, defensive minded coach, that the refs come into a game with a mindset that the Jazz are physical and foul prone. They sit down as a crew before every game the league plays and discuss tendencies of the two competing teams and things to look for. With the Jazz, they discuss their tendency to be physical and to look for fouls.

I believe you are right that the Jazz get the raw end of the officiating stick more times than not. But, like I said, I think it is because that's what is expected, almost pre-determined, before the refs ever hit the floor.

I think Deron deserved to go to the all-star game, but so did many others. He went last year and he is young and will go more in the future if he continues to improve. He is a great player. But the West has a lot of great guards this year. It is more important and meaningful to prove it in the playoffs like the Jazz did last year.

I think with the recent trades, the Jazz and Lakers are the contenders along with he Spurs and maybe the Suns. Should be an interesting and entertaining post-season.

I don't think the Jazz get the short end of the stick on the fould calls, though it looks that way at times. The Jazz are playnig more and better defense now and I think the calls are starting to even out more. The technical on Brewer last night was an error and I expect it will be corrected- but it had no bearing on the outcome of the game in any case.
Tired | 11:08 a.m. Feb. 5, 2008
To Ol'pro your line is getting old and boring.
Stan Amusial | 12:32 p.m. Feb. 5, 2008
Boy, I'll tell ya what, Deron should fake an injury instead of taking this pitty invite. PS: Jason Hart should be starting in the all-star game (on opposite day).
Skills Challenge | 12:34 p.m. Feb. 5, 2008
They should make the players guard each other during the Skills Challenge, then we really would see who has got skills...We all saw it for a few minutes last night before CP3 got into foul trouble and had to start guarding Korver...

D Will would tear them up...he has got skills...
Ol'pro | 1:11 p.m. Feb. 5, 2008
@ Tired...., what is tired is hearing SlowN year-in-year-out with his negative garbage, how he's always got some sort of demeaning value on things .

Do not recall you ever making comment, concerning that dear boy. Is it that you condone his tactics?

It must be,you do not read to much or else you'd see that I'm not the only-one that has the same outlook concerning this 4 1/2 million dollar a year negative loud mouth.

If you talk about BORING, take a good look at SlowN. You'll see clearly that he's the apathy of boring.(same garbage all the time ,20 years, oh it's just Jerry)

TIRED ?

ask the Jazz players how they feel about Jerry Sloan? Sure they will say he is tough, but they are big boys...

They can handle cursing...maybe it is not good to hear it on TV for your kids and what not, but he is a basketball coach, who coaches grown men...

They can handle a little criticism, even when they were on fire from the 3 line, or when they go broke from the free throw line...if their feelings get hurt about being told there is room for improvement, then they probably wouldn't be in professional sports...nobody is perfect, so maybe jerry sloan has something going when he trys to keep a level head, even when times are good...
Dwill | 2:39 p.m. Feb. 5, 2008
I just love the fact that Deron will get to prove, again, that he is better then Chris Paul in this challenge. Make us people at home proud man! Go Jazz!
Sloaner | 2:59 p.m. Feb. 5, 2008
I have a boss at work that is alot like Jerry Sloan.. He yells , screams and throws tantrums at all the lazy people that work there. And I for one appreciate the accountability.
Sokol | 4:03 p.m. Feb. 5, 2008
Sloan seems to know what he is doing. The fact that
the NBA officials robbed Stockton and Malone of two
championships, by Jordan the Weasel, is not his fault.
Re: Sokol | 10:26 p.m. Feb. 5, 2008
True story.
