All those issues that McCain supports are the reasons I voted for him. Be
realistic CONSERVATIVES DO NOT get things DONE in congress. We need McCain who
is a moderate.

Republican party. Have any of you ever hear of 'divide and conquer'?
That's what just happened here. "I'm voting for him because
he's old like me." "I'm voting for him because he's a
Christian like me!" "I just want some bipartisanship." Great! I
just want the government out of our business. I don't want it to do
ANYTHING for me. Don't try to buy my vote with a piddly rebate check.
Don't give me persciption drugs. Do what the Constitution tells you to and
leave the rest of us alone. We are not children. We're the people. Live
free or die!

Most of you here are a bunch of looosers! McCain is the man. I am a LDS, like
Rommney and I don't like his stance on immigration because he is NOT
following the LDS General Authorities of being more HUMAN and COMPASSIONATED on
IMMIGRATION. It's a shame that McCain who is NOT a LDS is following our
leaders advice.
What A shame! I am following our leaders advice TO VOTE for the PERSON NOT the party. Who cares if McCain is NOT a true Republican. Neither Republicans or Democrats are perfect, all of the candidates are human beings and McCain is the one who is following our church leaders recommendations on most issues.

I wish we could see inside these presidential candidates hearts and minds. Which
one lies less? Which one actually cares more? Which one does America need
most? Who can actually get it done? Unfortunately, all too many of us voters
fall prey to the pandering. Some people believe anything, and I am not talking
about the locals.

Wake up call to all of you democrats. Obama is a very smooth, classy guy who
talks a good talk and stirs the emotions of 'hope'. But you need to
look very closely at what he is saying. He's not just a liberal...he's
a communist. If you understood what communism is, you'd see that. Hillary
isn't any better. This system has failed everywhere it has been tried. It
may sound good to tax the rich but the result will be to collapse the economy.
The "sheeple" will get what they deserve.

I think this country needs to be humbled with Hilary. By that time they will
have to time to reflect on their folly of supporting McCain or Huckabee maybe
they realize by 2012 they need someone who gets it. By the time maybe Huckabee

My thoughts:
If being gay was genetic, it would not be nearly as common as it is now, because hardly anyone with the trait would be breeding!
If it is biological (which I don't believe it is), then it is a biological error, kind of like cancer or a mental illness. It would be a mental-emotional illness that should be treated.

Good luck Republicans winning the general election without conservative support.
The conservative wing has given this party some of its greatest leaders,
stongest support and profound victories.
But we've been thrown aside in the primaries, by a good 'ol boy network, backroom deals, a left-leaning press and an establishment that is protecting itself by keeping "one of their own" in power.
NOW that McCain has won, the establishement will try and win us conservatives back. Too late. You are on your own. You think we will rally around McCain to avoid Hillary. To be honest I don't know what is worse, a liberal in conservative clothing, or a self-confessed liberal.
Maybe its just the disappointment of the moment, but I don't see conservatives falling for it and handing over the party of Reagan to the liberal wing.
It is a sad day. The people have been duped.

I know many republicans who would rather not vote than vote for McCain. This
November, I predict that the democrats will win by a landslide due to lack of
support for McCain. The election won't even be close.
By the way, reading the comments, some people on this board make me laugh with their macho attitude of "I'm a liberal mormon, look at me! Everybody is so awed at my existence!" Who cares about you, get over yourself. I live in CA too and I'm independent party and would vote libertarian if there was a candidate that had a reasonable chance at the white house. So what! That being said, Romney is definitely better than the other republicans except for Ron Paul. By the way, this has nothing to do with Mormonism. People just may just be voting for Romney because they think that he is the best candidate and not because he is Mormon. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt.

It wasn't so long ago that Multiple Choice Mitt was supporting rights for homosexuals, abortion on demand, 'not-in-line with the NRA', and 'not a supporter of Reagan'. Suddenly he is 'a lifelong hunter', abortion foe, and since August, a 'lifetime member of the NRA'. Hilarious! And he's the 'real conservative'!? Are you daft? If being caught in lies is 'conservative', he is the clear winner. And...
"Mike Huckabee...southerners....Baptists...bigots..."
So when Willard takes Utah, which happens to be majority Mormon, that isn't bigotry, it is something else? Can you honestly parse this in your head and clearly call others bigots simply for voting their convictions? Not hilarious, but pathetic and sad. Grow up. Please. From the exit polls, it appears that Evangelicals were split evenly amongst Willard, Mike and John. Where is the bigotry? Sorry, carry on. Assume your mantle of victimhood.

Dear Mule, Utahns voting for Romney is not bigoted. Romney has NEVER attacked
Huckabee's religion. The same cannot be said for Huckabee.

If I choose not to vote for Hilary it does not automatically mean that I'm sexist. If I choose not to vote for Obama it does not automatically mean that I'm racist. But if I make negative comments about Hilary being a woman I am being sexist, and if I make negative comments about Obama being black then I am being racist.
Utahns voted for Mitt because they know him and they trust him to get things done, just like he's gotten things done for them in the past. It's okay to vote for who you know the best. In fact if the people who know you the best everyone else should be worried.
If we go by your definition every American is a combination of racist, sexist, or bigoted. It's the negative comments and attitudes that make people those things, not necessarily their voting choice.

Romney never had a chance, but let's hope his moment in the spot light will
bring interest and demand on the mormon church to open up and allow the light of
day in so both members and non-members can see inside to know what it is really
all about.

Part of that "spotlight" TRIG doesn't mention, is Romney's
candid remark on Channel 4 where he said, "God hasn't spoken to Man

I am a conservative who is an independent. I will not vote for John McCain
under any circumstance. Fear of Hilary Clinton is not enough to make me pull
the lever. America needs to be humbled and a democrat in office would do it.
Washington is broken we have strayed from the constitution that I believe was
inspired from God. John McCain is part of the problem. If you want to make
Utah competive put Huckabee as the nominee or even a VP nod. Then again there
are enough Latter Day Saints that believe the Republican party= Celestial Glory.
Even Governor Huntsman is proving to be to moderate for my comfort level. Tip:
To the Democrat party leaders in Utah and the intermountain West keep reminding
of Huckabee's bigotry if he is the VP or nominee then you will have a
chance at turning states who are normally red blue

My favorite thing about this debate is the fact that very few can separate
ideology "liberal, conservative" and party line "Democrat,
Republican" there is a difference and yes you can be a conservative
democrat and a liberal republican. They are not mutually exclusive

I think now is the time for us to revamp our nominating process. The way it is
now conducted gives WAY too much power to early states. Also, the
winner-takes-all states skew the delegate counts.
I don't know how we change things, but for the good of the party and the nation, we have GOT to get this mess straightened out. As it is now, it looks like we will end up with a candidate that the majority of conservatives not only disagree with, but absolutely cannot stand.
How can the process be changed? We cannot ignore this crisis in the party. We have got to right this error in procedure. Why should later voting states give up their contribution to the nominating process?! Let's figure out how to fix this, folks!
