It's too bad mob rule exists not only in religion but also in politics. The
Huckster gets to glote in his buddying-up with his insider friends and serve as
the spoiler in the election. What chance does one man stand against the bullies?
Let's have a one on one contest and see how Mitt does. Level the playing

McCaine is a disgrace to the Republican Party. He is weak on the economy and he
wants to keep the troops in Iraq... Enough is Enough. McCaine is not worthy of
the nomimation. Vote Romney. He is the change we need.

Mob rule, I don't want a one on one contest because that isn't how
real democracy works. Huckabee has a strong chance of winning and the people who
support him should have the right to vote for him instead of being forced to
vote for what they consider the lesser of two evils. I'm fairly certain
that those who intend to vote for Huckabee don't want to vote for Mitt
Romney or John McCain. If your suggestion was correct they would be basically
forced out of the race for the White House.
I'm a Democrat so I don't really care who wins the Republican nomination but I believe that Republican voters deserve the right to a say in the nomineee instead of being forced to say "I want neither but I choose Romney" or "McCain."
Furthermore, Romney's comments were rude, arrogant and repugnant. I would have hoped that his being Mormon would make him a good person but that's been demonstrated to be false. I'm just glad that he isn't a member of my Ward so I don't have to see him lie in Church on Sunday and show how horrible he is on Tuesday.

I think that so many LDS members are voting for Mitt, solely because of his
same faith, simular to blacks voting for Obama, that they fail to see the fact
that if Mitt wins the repub. nomination, the dems', in the haste to win the
whitehouse will certainly "swift boat" the mormon faith. I predict
that they will drive home the word "cult" in the minds of every
american. So far it's been a non issue but he has yet to run against a Dem.
party that allready believes the whitehouse is thier's!

I received a push-poll call yesterday asking me three questions about Romney
that were negative mis-statements of Romney's actions. I politely
explained to the caller what the errors were. There was no mention of McCain,
but it was clear for the purpose of supporting McCain. It is sad that a war hero
can decide to get on the side of evil in order to win at the expense of the
country he suffered and nearly died for.

I think some voters across the nation are starting to see Romney's lure and
also see what McCain is really all about. I wish Hannity, Ingraham and Levine
would have come out for Romney several weeks ago, instead of just last week, it

Unfortunately the election IS coming down to religion. The only reason the
bigot Huckabee is still in the race is because as a Baptist preacher, he hates
the LDS church because they attempt to sway his people away from him, which
takes money out of his pocket. This is his way to fight back a little. The
'Christians' are so short-sighted. What they are going to do is hand
the white house to an extreme liberal - take your pick - either Hillay or Obama.
Either way this contest was about religion at its core. America will get the
leadership it deserves -- I just hope that Mitt (or someone like him who is
capable, honest and full of integrity) can show up in 2012 and NOT be BIGOTed to
death.

A heart felt wish of success in the California and Connecticut primaries. I
believe in Nitt's honesty, leadership abilities & most of his concepts
on the economic and world wide political stage. I hope most Republicans will see
through the retoric of the primary contests and look to the strength,
determination & ability to work with congress to create solutions to current
national, economic and international problems as well as any future concerns in
the coming 4-8 years.

Romney is depending on his money to win the race. Why should money win an
election? It is not right that just because he has more money, he should be the
one we choose as our candidate. The economy is only one of the many issues, and
as far as Mr. McCain, who whould be naive enough to think that he would not have
advisors to guide him in these hard economic times. Also, he has had experience
in the Senate with economic issues. Why would anyone think that he would not be
able to give credit to businessmen? Mr. McCain also has the expereince we need
to deal with leaders from other countries. He knows the issues we face with
other countries. As far as being a warmonger, we need someone like Mr. McCain to
not let the efforts of those that have died in this war be lost. Maybe Mr.
McCain is the person we need to bring the democrats and the republicans together
to make this nation prosper economically as well as internationally. This is not
an "on the job training" position. We need someone with experience who
will be ready to start on day one!

I'm not fooled. McCain contends Romney set the "negative" tone in
order to justify his own(McCain's) smear tactics. Romney illustrates clear
differences v. McCain tells premeditated outright lies. McCain is a liar not to
be trusted as a leader. As a US Senator in a border state no less, he has had 25
years to fix the illegal alien problem and not done it - so why believe he will
do it now. I am on my way to vote for Romney today. Don't give up Mitt

I've been waiting for McCain to emerge from this flawed, anemic Republican
field. Romney could have been an appealing candidate, but he sowed the seeds of
his own destruction by pandering to the liberals in his race for governor. Now

Romney is not exactly anti-war. If you want a president that will end the war
you better vote democrat, not republican. Still, Romney is still a far better
option than McCain.

I am for Gov. Romney. I believe he is the right choice and will bring prosperity
in this land of ours. His great personal success in business and family is great
proof of his talent and wonderful dedication to what he endeavours to do. He has
the winning attitude amidst the bullies, the grace under pressure that I truly
marvel and respect. He has the virtues and the blessings to continue to serve
our country and fellowmen. I always have him in my prayer. I already voted for

The last big contest, with 18 delegates was Maine. Romney won with over 50% of
the votes. The news is out there, but most of the media is not covering it. They
don't want to mess up the chance people will vote for McCain. Many in the
republican party will NOT vote for McCain. Romney is the best option.

When Bush and Gore were debating, I noticed that when Gore spoke, Bush stood
and turned toward him and listened. However, when Bush spoke, Gore only wrote
notes and looked at the audience.
When I last saw Romney and McCain, I saw the same behavior. When McCain spoke, Romney turned in his chair to comfortably face and listen. When Romney spoke, McCain kept his head down doing his notes, as Gore had.
What does this mean? A statesman has to always be respectful of the speaker, whether it be a senator or King.
Romney showed me that, McCain did not. When the final Dem and Rep debate later this year, I will be watching to see if my "rule" will predict for a third time!

will even consider electing Mitt Romney. McCain will get this nomination and

we needed "timelines" and "benchmarks".

Dirty secret #2: McCain said the same thing early in 2007 (search the Arizona Star newspaper). He said our benchmarks would have to be specific and then said "If the Iraqi government hasn't met the benchmarks then obviously we can't complete the mission and we'll have to re-evaluate our position".

Kathy B - I don't know what Vice President Gore was taking notes on. For
all we know, he was sketching, but it's quite possible that he was taking
notes on what President Bush was saying (thus being able to reference them
later), and looking at the audience to gauge reactions to what his opponent was
saying. I do not see how that is disrespectful at all.

Recently the 'other' newspaper ran a column listing basic views of all
the candidates. I found it very interesting to quiz myself by covering the
names and looking strictly at the candidates' views. I wonder if all of
you would still support your chosen candidate if you looked only at the facts
barring the hype, prejudice and bias.

This is not about religion. It is about experience. Utah seems to be voting for
Romney because of his religion. We need to look at qualifications not religion.
We need to look at the person and make sure that the person is not oly qualified
but ethical. Ethics are so important. Does the person stand up for what they

Forgot to mention that the LDS population here isn't nearly enough to

Mormons have moved out of the state (especially to Utah) in the last several

Let me give you some straight talk. McCain tried to talk Kerry, into letting
him be the vice-president on the ticket in 04. Kerry didn't choice to take
McCain, not McCain turning down Kerry. Who told us this? John Kerry! I would

"straight talk," on the side of his bus doesn't give him a pass

Here are two things that are VERY evident about Romney supporters in Utah:
1. They are hateful. I've seen article after article where they attack everything and everyone that is not Romney. And they generally don't attack based on issues, they PERSONALLY attack. I've always believed that Mormons don't like anyone that is not them...this campaign process has certainly proven that point.
2. Romney's Utah supporters have hyperactive persecution complex. Again, I've seen article after article where reasons are given for disliking Romney without ANY mention of religion. Yet those commenters are attacked and called bigots. I've even seen many many comments that say things like "The Lord's chosen have always been persecuted." Please, spare us.

Living as I do in Ireland, I hesitate to become too involved in commenting on
American politics. I find it difficult enough to understand what goes on in my
own small country. However, as you're the only current superpower on the
planet, what happens in the USA is important to all of us. (I can't imagine
our general election last summer would have caused too many ripples in the SLC
Valley.) However, for what it's worth, last year I had a conversation with
a friend of mine who was living in Ireland for a year. He admitted to me that he
was one of the three (or was it four?) registered Democrats in his county in
Utah. However, his view was that the best thing for America would be to elect
Mitt Romney. He also told me that Governor Romney had introduced a universal
one-tier health service in Massachusets. Is this true? Here in this corner of
"liberal" Europe, we have yet to manage that. (I should state that I
believe in a proper universal healthcare system, available to all, regardless of
their means. Whether it's funded by taxation or by insurance is a
discussion for another day.)

My vote has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with qualifications
and ethics. I think your "blanket statement" about Mormons shows your
complete narrow-mindedness and lack of knowledge, and this is coming from a
Non-Mormon. Maybe YOU are the one who needs to stop focusing on religion and
start looking at the actual issues.

I believe that if Mitt does not win in 08, he WILL win in 2012. He is a great
man. The fact that people would seriously consider McCain over Romney shows the
general state of our country. SAD. I see Mitt as this country's only
hope. Vote smart. Vote Mitt!!!!!!!!!

yeah, it is someone who shares similar beliefs and values, isn't that what
the majority of Americans voted based on?

Look I am a Republican that is looking to support Obama. Why? Because I
don't trust McCain, and he has shown me what type of person he is during
the multiple campaigns he has run. Yet, I is just dumb to think McCain
isn't a hero. He is an american hero for what he went through. Does that
make him deserve to be President? No. Yet, he does deserve respect for what he
did. If Obama doesn't resort to lies and cheating he will get my vote. So
please stop speaking like a Democrat and let me vote for someone that would put
the American interest first over his own. Obama!

McCain is a warmonger. Why is it that he can't give credit to business people and people that make payroll. They are the ones that have to pay taxes and those taxes go to McCain's paycheck. Which I'm sure he's not willing to give up as Romney did in Mass as gov. and as he's said he'd do as Pres. You don't have to be a soldier to be an American hero. I can't support McCain. If Romney isn't nominated I'll sit out for 4 years until there is a canidate I can support. Romney stick with it you'll take the nomination, all you need is a little more time.
