Utterly classless, shameful, cynical, racist, and, worst of all, not funny. I'd seriously consider firing someone who wrote this for publication -- just for their poor taste and inapprorpriate judgement. I know I'd fire the editor that let this get into his paper. Joe, you know better. This kind of trash talk has never appeared in the Deseret News in the past many, many decades.

RH

This guy should go get a job at the N.Y.Times. This type of "journalism" does not belong in the DesNews. It was biased and classless, something you would find in the S.L.Trib. If he dislikes living in Utah, leave.

Is there an editor out there?

What does this sentence mean: "were the only ones was the only one voting him behind that odd little rich guy with the big ears."

WHO made the decision to publish this poorly-written, hateful, racist, nasty piece of trash?

As for RH: obviously, you do not regularly read the New York Times. You can, you know, for free online. Maybe next time, you'll not parrot right-wing radio when you need to smear something.

Karl

The editorial is great in many ways.
First off, do we really need to only read things that are spoon fed to us always in the same mannor so we will not think about the actual state of affairs here in Utah? What about real life?
Don't we learn from reading many articles from many sources?
If what you believe about politics can't withstand any questioning of it, what are you afraid of?
Thinking about someones opinion other than your own, might stimulate some criticle thinking if you want it to. Other wise stick to comic books and Rush.

Go Proportional

That way more Republican candidates would have campaigned here for a proportional share of Utah's Republican delegates, rather than have them all go to Romney because of the winner-take-all method used by the GOP.

What would it matter

Even THIS editorial (ahem) gives a golden shine to Romney, while insulting the other candidates. Now I know why we'll never see a woman or non-white as governor or Utah, with the attitudes of this "humorous" editorial writer. Much like "comedian Rush Limbaugh", huh?

Kyle

This article is utter trash and borderline racist. How did this actually make it to print?

Jason

Wow. Veiled racism in the form of satire. Bad form sir.

CADDISGUN

Wow! Enough time wasted reading this trash. It's not even a particular opinion. It's just "splatter" on EVERYONE, with no real stance on anything particular.

What a waste of time and even "web" space.

News?

Hardly, from this pathetic wanna be paper.

Get a clue, Utah has always been, and forever will be irrelevant to anyone but the people of Utah.

I also can't believe this actually got printed, this article was in no way funny. Just rude. Pointless prattle like this does not belong in professional papers.

DNich

Sad, very very sad.

Interesting commentary. However the manner in which it is represented leaves a lot to be desired, leaving the reader with an overwhelming feeling of distate. Satire expressed noted and some times understood but the manner in which it is done is abhorrent even if the writer conveys the total feeling of disenfrachisement with the current polling method and timeline of the event that has merits in of intself but very badly reported.

Ha! "Father Time," "Olympic demigod." What a laugh. I can't believe I'm reading the D News!

So, the big day is here. Was it worth it?

Doug Wright at KSL and other political junkies praised the Utah legislature's decisoin to join the "Me TOO!" Supper Tuesday party. They claimed the $1.5 million would be well spent, because it would put Utah on the political map and force candidates to campaign here. Has anyone seen a candidate campaigning here? I've seen a wife, a daughter, but no candidates since they were hear early in the election cycle looking for our money.

I hope the Utah Primary is a big success and those in the media who praised it's inception can convince me and others that it was a wise expenditure of Utah's tax funds.

Supper Tuesday?

Who's bringing the funeral potatoes?

Of COURSE this is worth it. For the first time in many Utah voters' lives, WE get to have a say in a Presidential election - rather than being totally rolled over by the Republican vote-by-rote.

It's money well-spent, and much better than that silly Sandy soccer statium.

You all take yourselves and everyone else too seriously! Laugh a little bit. It's funny!

If you're weren't offended,

look inside yourself.

If you commonly believe that black mothers are legitimately compared to male basketball players, look inside yourself.

If you don't understand why others would be offended, look inside yourself.

It wasn't funny. The only thing it *was*, was poorly written satire.

White and ashamed of the D-News

Racism plain and simple. I didn't kniow that Michelle Obama came to court the black vote, I thought she came to court the Utah vote.

What year is this?
