I must admit I was surprised at President Monsons choice of Elder Uchtdorf as second counselor, as I was with Elder Eyring. You could say that there where more experienced apostles who could have been selected. But who am I to question, when I know that any decision by our Prophet is from the Lord. I also know and feel that it is our privilege and opportunity to have the spirit testify to us personally that it is an inspired decision.

I am glad to know the Lord has called a new set of leaders in the First Presidency.

I am glad that God has called a new set of leaders, too. For a moment there, I thought He was going to just pack it all up and take it back to heaven and forget the whole thing!

Whew! That WAS a close call!

I am not surprised that President Eyring was retained and became the 1st counselor as this has been the order of things since I joined the Church in 1976 and he was obviously called by revelation by President Hinckley. And, if he became the 1st counselor then the only three junior apostles to him were Elders Uchtdorf, Bednar and Cook, and it was pure revelation that guided President Monson in the choice to select his 2nd counselor. I am grateful and honored to follow all three of them.

I am grateful that President Thomas S. Monson became president of the Church I know that he is called of a loving Father in heaven and He has inspired president Monson to choose such powerful men to help him lead the church.
