We need a back up big man who can defend and rebound.
Bird wants Almond or Miles, Collins and a draft pick.
That's a steep price to pay. All I know is we need to do something, and we are overstocked at the wing.
Lets get it done.
Wallace doesn't care how the other team made out in a trade he worked? That has to be the most insane thing a GM has ever said, in any sport.
As Jimmy said yesterday, Jimmy doesn't think we have the salary cap pieces to make the Foster trade work. They would essentially have to take our trash in order to get a deal done. The only way Jimmy sees them doing that is if we include cash to enable them to help buyout the guys we deal them, and Jimmy isn't convinced that LHM wants this bad enough to spend $3 mill extra for a decent Center.
How about make a trade Jazz fan ? We need a fan who will support the team in any condition instead of giving ideas how to be better. IT IS THE TIME GO JAZZ.
Memo plays a lot better defense than Boozer. Memo also is a good rebounder and would get even more boards if he didn't have one of the best rebounders in the league on his team. In a few years everybody will forget who Foster was or who he played for. Memo also helps open up things inside. Yes, there are players who could improve the Jazz, and every single Jazz player is expendable if the right trade came up. But right now the Jazz are one of the hottest teams in the league and competitive with everybody else. They have a legitimate chance of surviving late into the playoffs. So why fix what ain't broke? If the Jazz trade anybody, it would probably be AK now that he has improved his trade value. Sooner or later the Jazz will need the money to tie up long term deals with Booze and DWill and to keep Milsap and Brewer. I can't think of another team that has done more with less in the past three years or even the past 25 years. The reason the Jazz are doing well is that Sloan has them playing team ball.
It's really not that hard, throw in a 2nd rounder and you got a deal.

RE: Rich if ranking in the twenty's on defense isn't broken then you may want to retake math. There is no doubt that this team can put up points but if that is what you want to rely on then you might as well get on the Phoenix Suns boat the one that has never come in. They(Suns)rely strictly on offense and little defense. Teams that have won deep in the playoffs are teams that rank in the single digits on defense. Jerry preaches defense because he knows that its easy to lose your offense quickly evident by Boozers outing the other night but to play defense all you have to do is think a little and move your feet.
A big guy like Foster would let the Jazz play zone more against poor shooting teams that drive the middle and he could alter there shots. Right now Boozer and Memo are to slow to recover to stop drives and usually they foul and are in foul trouble a lot. Obviously LHM, O'Connor, and Sloan know this or they would not be looking at Foster in the first place.
Do really think Indiana would take Collins, Hart and a second rounder for Foster? I would not. I think they can get better players from somebody if they really want to trade Foster. Miles cannot be traded unless he agrees to an extension before the trade.
Wow we have a lot of experienced General Managers who are out of work who comment on these articles. One guy even knows what Bird as asked for from the Jazz to get Foster. It is tough to get one of those GM jobs.
Hey rich my 3 year old son can play better defense than Boozer. Memo is'nt much better, he is a liability on offense more than he is an asset.
I couldnt agree more with getting rid of Hart and Collins. Collins hasnt played much this year like every other year of his career and Hart is hurt and isnt exactly the best 2nd string point. I still think they shouldve stuck with Dee Brown. Give him a call and cut Price too!!!
Why would the Jazz want Jeff Foster? He is Jarron Collins with a higher price tag.
To improve their interior D, the Jazz need a back up center who is long and athletic and can block some shots. That would not be Jeff Foster.
I actually like this deal better, and if you sit around watching teams make bone-head deals, yes I would not be surprised if they accepted either of these deals. I have seen many trades made in the NBA more lopsided than these. Oh, as for IDK, that is what these forums are for, making assumptions, giving an opinion etc. If a person is able to read, there are resources with reliable information on potential trade deals, look them up.

Your are suppose to be doing missionary work not following up on the utah jazz. Eat some empanadas de pino for me. The Jazz will trade DWill and AK for Oneal and Tinsley, that what I overheard at the barber shop by LHM Caddy.
Fan from Chile-
Dee Brown? Give it a rest! Ronnie Price will be a solid back-up if given the chance. He can shoot the three and penetrate and generally plays fundamentally sound basketball. Jeff Foster would be an upgrade from Collins...but then again..who wouldn't be an upgrade?
Why do the Jazz always try to get old players that wern't any good the first time they were here. Foster was terrible when he was here before. Please don't bring him back.
Gary, you're thinking of GREG Foster, this is JEFF Foster....obviously you are not a diehard
I agree the jazz are fine. We don't need you want a be GMS making trades. our frontline has 24 fouls to give a game that will do. Plus AK's and harprings 12 Thats 36 fouls that will be enough come playoff time.
Both Price and Hart are horrible. if DWILL goes down we are back to a ok team. we need a backup point guard. hart and price shouldn't be in the league send em to the flash!
Miles, Collins and Hart For foster. We can get rid of all of our junk with this trade
