We thank thee oh God for a prophet, who guide us in this latter days. We will surely missed President Hinckley. We honored him for serving us as a humble, and faithful servant. We also remember him for being a great example to all the members of the Latter Day Saints.
Our condolences to the Hinkley family, may god bless you all. And may the church members continue to shine their lights on every four corner of the earth.
Hello, | 7:09 p.m. Jan. 29, 2008
Watching the services on TV might be a good option
with all the many people trying to be in one location at once, especially in light of the parking situation in the Temple Square local vicinity, with all the construction nearby.

It would be indeed a sad thing for an accident,
even if it's just a fender bender as we honor and
remember this Great Man!!

Gordon B. Hinckley was indeed a great Prophet
and leader. I think he would be saddened if there
were accidents and/or possible injury related to a
service that remembered and honored him.

I live within a half block from the conference center. Please don't drive downtown for the funeral. It will be "heck" here!
Thanks

In the 6yrs I have been a member of the church, I have always looked forward to listening to his talks and have the opportunity to feel that I am in the presence of a true Prophet of God. Although I feel sad, at this time,I will miss him dearly, but I know he is with his sweetheart and Heavenly Father.
I feel I have lost a friend and family member. Thank you President Hinckley for being a wonderful inspiration to me. And I as all members across the world express our love to you and your family, we say; WE THANK THEE O GOD FOR A PROPHET.

I love President Hinckley for his vision of family history; his willingness to help families link to families has ushered us into what is surely the single largest collaboration effort and technologically innovations ever.

I love President Hinckley for his kindness and the twinkle in his eyes. I will offer my prayers for an orderly and safe gathering of those who are blessed to go personally and offer their condolences.
TB | 9:28 p.m. Jan. 29, 2008
I'm glad that the viewing has been moved to the Conference Center. It was one of President Hinckley's visions. Also, if you've ever been to the Hall of the Prophets, it is a beautiful corridor where people will be reminded of the great prophets of the past. It is a befitting tribute to this great leader.
curious | 9:39 p.m. Jan. 29, 2008
so...are tickets just to regulate the number of people...or do they cost money?
Brian | 9:48 p.m. Jan. 29, 2008
Tickets are free. They are just used to regulate the number of people as you suggested.
Alysia | 9:56 p.m. Jan. 29, 2008
I think it is great that Senator Reid is planning to attend. Some people need to be reminded that there are other prominent Latter Day Saints in the world besides Mitt Romney and Senator Hatch.

President Hinckley was a great Prophet and an inspiring leader. Who could listen to him speak and not want to jump from their seats and get to work? I thank Heavenly Father for sharing his servant with us in this life.
Heidi | 10:29 p.m. Jan. 29, 2008
I'm so thankful for the prophet's example on marriage. He truley loved his wife as she has loved him.

However, I have meet President Hinckley and his wife face to face and have shaken their hands and spoken with them. I am thankful for that experience. I am glad that he has been reunited with his loving wife and what an experience that must have been for them.

To the people traveling to the Conference Center please remember why you are there and let's show our respect, reverence, love and care for our prophet and his family.
MY | 11:22 p.m. Jan. 29, 2008
People! there is no parking spaces in downtown any more. Please don't drive down here if you come and don't even think that you are going to park in my driveway like you do during conference!
Marsha | 11:32 p.m. Jan. 29, 2008
I just wish I lived close enough to tell him thank you for everything. I truly loved him.

I have been so blessed to have had the many wonderful
memories of attending conference and other event's that he had took part of. what a blessing for him to be able to go home and be with his loving wife and our Heavenly Father and Jesus our Savior. He has been a wonderful leader not just to our faith but to all those who has had the blessing of knowing him.
I will always remember his plea to us to read the Book of Mormon every day and I hope we can all go to the temple as this was his desire for us all.
to his family thank you for letting us share with you all your wonderful father. May God be with you all.

I am so thankful for Pres Hinckley, for his faithfulness to the Savior and then being a great leader to us. I know Jesus and our Heavenly Father live and what a great example Pres Hinckley was to us in always expressing his testimony to help build ours so that we too could know and bear testimony of them.
I'm happy that Pres Hinckley is now reunited with his sweetheart and that too is a blessing to him. He was truly a GREAT man!

What a loss for the church worldwide but what a blessing to know that he is finally with his beloved Marjorie. I am certain they had really missed eachother. What a great man, full of love and compassion for all people. He truly lived a Christlike life both in word and in deed. I will miss his witt and sense of humor in his talks and the powerful spirit with which he delivered God's will to the world. Be at peace

What an extraordinary man and Prophet he was. He is loved, and will continue to be loved forever. He always seemed to know just exactly what to say when he spoke in conference or to the media. He did have a special sparkle in his eyes, and he had more wit about him than anyone I have ever met. I, too, will miss him. Thanks to our Prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley for such fine leadership, and for the love he has shown everyone. It didn't matter whether a person was a Church member..My love to him, along with everyone else...LaJuana H

We live in South Georgia and we too are saddened by President Hinckley's death, but we know he has finished his work on earth. We will all miss him and hearing his words of wisdom at Conference. Our condolences to his family and to everyone who loved him as we do.
TRAX , & the tickets are free | 8:52 p.m. Jan. 30, 2008
No one has mentioned the TRAX light rail trains.

They usually make a great alternative to travel to downtown Salt Lake City. They're nice & clean light rail trains too.

Surprised that it wasn't mentioned that the tickets
are free of charge and are only used to control
the flow of "people traffic". Some might not know
that, especially those who read this internet site outside of Utah and people who think the Church
is always after making $$.

God Bless Brother Hinckley's Memorial service.
He gets an A++, at least from this commentator,
for his TURN On EARTH!!!
Matt | 8:58 p.m. Jan. 30, 2008
I'm glad that this article used the term "viewing" instead of "lie in state". There have only been 31 people that have ever had that honor. The term for Hinckley would be "Lying in repose". It would be nice if the news media would look into things such as this.
Thomas | 11:18 p.m. Jan. 30, 2008
He is gone,it matters not where, I will not go to a place where I man once made a stand. Be it Gordon or Jesus himself. They are gone. Which one of you will take there place? Witch one can? The next in an endless line of men, each fallen in his own way and will there after. Stand not before men and woman and child, stand together. One of us has fallen, lets close ranks and stand as one. Just this once say to the world, not one more shall take this place in our lives, the place we all belong. Salt Lake is not a place, it's people like all people everywhere, stay in your homes, stay with your familys, let his stand silent in what they have lost and what still remains. They are his family not yours and mine. Why delute what little they have left of him. Can anyone of you replace what he was to them. Don't insult them, they have given what only they can give. Let them come to you if and when in there hour of need and not before. There is no right time that is the same for all. Love

Our beloved Prophet is gone. I thank God to have given us such a reliable, loyal, loving, and inspired prophet. I received the news as a shock, but going back to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I know death is part of the plan of salvation. It is my prayer that my prophet will claim His rightful place on the right hand side of Our Heavenly Father. Without anything to apologise for and without any shadow of doubt, Gordon B Hinckley was and is a prophet of God. I am happy that He will be guiding us from the other side of the vail. God bless

Our Prophet has gone home to his beloved Marjorie. How wonderful for them. How sad for us. We are now denied that sweet spirit and loving man. There are not words to express our feelings. We know he was truly a Prophet of God and gave himself totally to the mission set before him. We have been so very blessed to have known this wonderful man. Truly "We Thank Thee oh God for a Prophet" Bye for now President Hinckley, we will see you again. God Bless you and Marjorie.

Although it was with tears we heard of the passing of our beloved Prophet, Gordon B.Hinkley, we also felt joy in knowing that he can now at last be with his eternal companion, his sweetheart, Marjorie. Can't you just see them hand in hand? He will always be known as the Temple Prophet!

What an impact this great man has left! He has truly touched our lives like no other. To our beloved Pres. Hinckley: Thank you for your wisdom, leadership, humor and love. We will continue with the legacy you left us...to love and to serve the Lord. We will truly miss listening and seeing you in General Conferences. See you later.

Does anyone know how long the wait in line is for the veiwiing? We are going tomorrow and were just wondering what to expect.
Jessica | 9:25 a.m. Feb. 1, 2008
He has touched my life in so many ways. I wish that I could have met him but I know will some day. He was an extraordinary man. He had the best sense of humor and he could always put a smile on my face. Whether it was just the way he said something or when he would wave his cane at people, it always made me love him. I will miss him tremendously but I know that he has had and is still having a glorious reunion in heaven will the people whose lives he has touched, or done temple work for. I am sure that he is very happy to be with his wife and his Savior again and knowing that makes the mourning all the more easier. I love you President Hinkley!!!
