What a sad and mournful day it is!! We have truly lost a great leader, prophet

I will miss you more than words can say. Thank you for your leadership, your
love, your humility, your strength and courage, your unwavering devotion to the
Lord and His Church. I am happy you are reunited with your beloved Marjorie.

there's no way to really prepare for the deep feeling of loss. You were
truly a giant.

I received notification by text message at 8:24 PM MST! The word traveled really
fast of his passing! My sister also heard via text message at about the same
time! I think this may have been how many others received message of his
passing! We will miss President Hinckley! He was a wonderful man and we will
never forget him!

even though i do not see eye to eye in some doctrinal principles with the LDS
church, i do appreciate pres hincklesy example. I know he served his church,
community, and this nation. I am deeply saddened for the loss of a wonderful
man like him. I met him about 4 years ago and actually had a conversation with
him while I was investigatin the church. There was something definately
different about him. Rest in peace mr. hinckley

Although we have lost a global treasure, Prophet Hinckley's legacy will
continue to guide us and our future generations. His immense devotion to Our
Savior and The Gospel has proven to be a wonderful example for all of us to
follow. His dedication to The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints sets the
tone for the world to know of the good influence this church has over the earth.
With much gratitude for the selfless service of such a wonderful, we send our

What a reunion you must be having with Sister Hinckley and your family up above.
So many members of the Church know no other prophet. You have truly inspired and
will be missed by millions. You are a brilliant example of a follower of Jesus

I know, by the power of the Holy Ghost, that Gordon B. Hinckley was a prophet of
God. His love, his kindness, his wit, his humor, his skill in communicating, his
frankness, his powerful positivity, his compassion, his sincere concern, his
faith, and his determination and passion to serve God with all of his soul truly
has brought us all closer to our Savior Jesus Christ.
I am sure the Lord will forever remember President Hinckley as one of His good and faithful servants. What an inspiration. May you enjoy your time spent now with your beloved Marjorie. You have left
behind a great legacy for those you have trained so well to follow in the
Savior's footsteps. Your love, example, your teachings and your testimony
have fired up generations to let their light shine forth and to spread the
Gospel across the world. You have put the Temple within reach of so many
millions more people so that millions can enjoy the fulness of the Gospel.
President Hinckley you have reached out to our youth with love but with firm
guidelines in these difficult times and I thank you as a mother of 7. Your
counsel has comforted me so often and lifted me up as did your challenge to our
family to read the Book of Mormon. What a blessing that was! Your personal
witness of Jesus Christ has been a powerful witness in the life of my family,
particularly in the lives of my two missionary sons.I attended your solemn

I know there is a great reunion going on tonight across the veil with our
Saviour Jesus Christ, Sister Hinckley, with family, ancestors, and friends who
have gone before, but also with all the prophets that have gone before as well.
One of Heavenly Father's sons is safely home again.
Thank you, President Hinckley, for your excellent humble example. You kept the faith, touched many lives, and did the Lord's work throughout your life and endured to the very end. I know you will rest in peace tonight and always. I also know that our Saviour will have more work for you across the veil. You will be missed on this side of the veil.

Thanks to the marvels of the Internet, we can express our love and grief at the
loss of our Prophet from all areas on this planet. He has had an unbelievable
impact on me for decades.
Daily, we observe the lives and good works of Korean saints. We were in the midst of thousands of faithful Korean saints in Seoul, gathered in summer 2005 with Pres. Hinckley, to celebrate 50 years of the LDS church in Korea. I can testify to his world-wide influence for good, setting a high example in many ways.
I miss him already, but am comforted to know that we will reunite in a better place someday, and that he has, at last, rejoined his eternal companion and other family members.
It is our challenge now, to continue to follow our Prophet's counsel to always "just do the best you can" to live a quality Christ-like life.

I am saddened with the death of our beloved Prophet. My sister Dorothy Perry
and her husband Don Perry lived in Governor Plaza Condos at the same time as
President Hinckly and Marjorie before they moved to the downtown appartments.
My sister was totally blind, and they were both so good to her, especially after
her husband passed away. I did meet Marjorie in her one day when she was
visiting my sister. She remained a good friend to my sister right up to the
time my sister passed away. They were both so caring and good to her. I loved
our Prophet and he will be missed, but thankful that he could be with us for 96
years, and happy he is reunited with his beloved wife. Love,Lillian B.Anhder

I remember with fondness his visits to Chorley, England. His dedication of the
Preston Temple and the joy we all experienced with him on subsequent visits -
driving around in the little electric cart - waving to the people and giving his
security nightmares!! We have him to thank for a Temple, Chapel, MTC and
accommodation all in a wonderfully landscaped site. He truly loved the area and
the people where he served in Preston on his mission.

At the last session of the Nauvoo temple dedication in 2002, President Hinckley
mentioned that he hoped to someday meet the Prophet Joseph, so that he could
report what he had done with the church while it was under his watch; and with
tears he said, "I hope that Joseph will be pleased with what I have done. I
have tried my very best."

I remember when he, an apostle at the time, came to visit my small branch in
Malaysia. Just two weeks later I was in Virginia and he was there to organize a
stake. I sat right up front, and he said, "I was just in Malaysia visiting
the good saints there..." He looked right at me, and I was sure he was
going to say," and YOU were there!" Of course, that's not what
happened, but having the privilege of sitting at his feet and being taught
gospel truths two times in such a short span was truly a privilege. I love
President Hinckley and will miss him with all my heart.

President Hinckley was one of the major determinants in my decision to join the
Church. His simple faith, his wisdom and his love for everyone, member or no,
touched something in me. Even though I never had the pleasure of meeting him I
truly feel that I have lost a great and true friend.

President Hinckley, I will miss you, especially at Conference time. You lifted
and inspired me, made me laugh, made me shed tears of conviction and love for my
Savior, my family and my fellow man. Your words and sentences were so eloquent,
like a song your voice and inflections, your comedic timing, your countenance,
everything enhanced your well chosen words even more. I loved to hear your

Our family will truly miss President Hinckley. My husband doesn't cry
much, but he did get teary-eyed last night when we found out that he had passed
on to the Spirit World. What a remarkable man he was, and was loved by all.

Please, those of you who visit this site with a less than positive attitude, I
ask respectfully, Not here, Not today. Gordon B. Hinckley is a man who is loved
and revered by millions of people and we mourn his loss. I must admit that I
cried upon hearing the news but I am not sad, because I know where he is and
that he is happy.

Today I will announce the passing of our prophet to 20 youth. We will hold our
own memorial service with youth who love and respect and honor a man who asked
them to stand for something, to be smart and humble at the same time, to be
worthy for things higher and better than the world ever gives them. Yes, we
will miss his quick wit and the way he was always in touch with our needs long
after he had conquered his own Goliaths. He was 97 in years but ageless in
compassion and insight. We will love and support Pres. Monson as his successor
and know Pres. Hinckley is being welcomed by all the "leaves" who left
before him.

made me feel as if he was talking directly to me. He was my guiding light and

I just want this morning to live honoring President Hinckley's legacy. To
be just a little bit of what he was, to truly "stand a little taller",
would make anyone a better person. I'm teaching the Book of Mormon Gospel
Doctrine class this year. I think this Sunday I will challenge the class to,
once again, read the Book of Mormon in four months as a tribute to our beloved
friend and leader.

We visited Cove Fort as a family quite by accident once, and learned of the
Hinckley family connection to that place. I could feel that it was sacred
ground. President Hinckley will be missed by so many, and we send sympathy to
all of his family members and those who knew and worked with him closely.
