The world has lost a great man; fortunately his legacy will live on. Thank you, President Hinckley, for all you've done for all of us. Rest in peace.
Gordon B. Hinckley was a great man who lived his life as he believed, with faith and strength. He built bridges of understanding between his beloved Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and other Christian faiths. He was kind, he was positive, he was helpful, he was friendly, he was brave. He was a great man of God who loved his Savior Jesus Christ and tried to bring the rest of us into a similar position. He is a man who stood for something. He will be missed here, but he will be welcomed there. If the rest of us could do as well we would be very happy.
What a joyful day for this great man. Just think of the impressive list of people waiting to greet him on the other side. We all have grateful hearts for his life lived so well.
A finer man has not graced the lives of so many people is such a critical time. God speed!
Words cannot express my gratitude for this great leader. He will be missed. Best wishes to his family.
We thank thee o God for a prophet, to guide us in these latter days!
We love and will miss President Hinkley. He completed his mortal mission with grace, love and vigor. Well done.
How I will miss our beloved prophet. I remember his picture on the wall at seminary as a youth thinking he was very special. He became very special to me in my life, serving as such a powerful example. I will ever be grateful for the time he spent serving the Lord and everyone on the earth.
He was and is a wonderful prophet...He did more for the church than anyone, since the time of Joseph, in his time as a leader. We're proud of him and his family. The church will continue in great form due to his contribution of service.
President Hinkley, We will all miss you and will continue to love and appreciate you, always. Fran Marsing family, Eagle Point, Oregon
In the late 60's, a few years after I became a member at age 17, I was able to shake hands with Apostle Gordon B. Hinckley after a Stake Conference in Santa Barbara, California. I immediately sensed a special spirit. He was and always will be a special person. He was and will continue to be the best example of loving and respecting others, regardless of their official religious affiliation.
As a new GA, He interviewed me for my Mission in 1961. What a great man!
My grandmother passed away monday. She was the same age as president hinkley. She always said she wanted to live as long as he did. I can only imagine the great reunion in Heaven with family and friends for both. Our family gathered today celebrating her life this evening when we recieved the news about President Hinkley. What an honor it was to bow our heads in honor of his life and love. We love you President Hinkley, and our thoughts are with you and your family.
We are sadden at President Hinckley's passing but are thankful that he is able to reunited with his sweet wife. Our love and prayers are with his family. He was an inspiring Prophet and when he spoke you knew that what he said was from the Lord. We are thankful for the privilege of knowing him. May God bless his family at this very tender time.
I love President Hinckley. His love for truth, enthusiasm for people, and dedication to the Savior Jesus Christ and His church has changed the world.
The positive and far-reaching effects of his goodworks will go on throughout the eternities and his legacy of Christlike love and service will be ALWAYS be remembered.
Is is a sad sad day for the world not just the LDS faith. We have all lost a great soul today. God bless Pres Hinckley.
We love you pres Hinckley. Thanks for everything. You are greatly missed in Mesa AZ. Enjoy your reunion party.
Thank you Deseret News for making it so we people out of town can know what has happened to our dear Prophet. My heart is tender for the loss of such a great man, but it is happy that he and Marjorie are together again. I hope that his children and the General Authorities will find peace during this time. I loved all your comments posted.
We love you Pres Hinckley. Hope to see you again someday at the feet of the Savior.
I heard Elder Hinckley speak just after he became an apostle while I was a young missionary in Finland. I can still remember his theme and how his humor influenced me. I will always be grateful to him for his sacrafice and service to the Church.
You will be missed dearly. Thank you for your leadership and being an inspiration.
