Prophets are a great blessing. President Hinckley has been a blessing for members throughout the world. When members in Honduras were hit by hurricane Mitch in 1998 his visit to our country was a glimpse of hope and happiness in the middle of sadness and devastation. How to forget his humor, wisdom and optimism... The life of this great man has been an inspiration for so many!

Our family loves Pres. Hinckley and we will miss him. But while the earth mourns, what a great reunion there must be in Heaven as one of the great sons of God returns in honor. And now, God bless Pres. Monson.

President Hinckley, we will miss you dearly. Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away the day before you did. I'm sure our families are rejoicing on the other side together. Til we meet again.

We were surprised to hear the news, and were hoping that he would make it to 100. It was probably hard to serve without his wife, now he is re-united. We will miss his inspiration, and witty personality. Thank you President Hinckley for your great example and great wisdom. Our condolences go out to the Hinckley family.

My condolences go out to the family. President Hinckley was a wonderful man, a man of vision, and deep, vibrant faith. His words have always lifted me and inspired me to become a better person.

He will be sorely missed by his Church family. The service he performed in the Church as a leader and outside it as a spokesman and an example of Christlike living was invaluable to us.

I can imagine the fantastic reunion that just took place as he once again held his wife, parents and other family and friends that preceded him. We love you, President Hinckley, and will miss you.

MADRYBEG | 1:40 p.m. Jan. 28, 2008
President Hinkley was called as President of this church in June 1995. I sent my papers to the First Presidency in June 1995 to go on a mission. I would have been one of the first he approved to go. I have always felt a deep respect for this great man since then. Thank you for helping to bring the church "out of obscurity and darkness" in a positive manner and light!!

President Hinkley influenced my life greatly through his writings, his leadership, and through the example of unconditional love for Jesus Christ and for all of mankind. My heart is sad at his leaving, but I know through the teachings of the church that he will continue his work on the other side of the veil. I give thanks to our Heavenly Father for the blessing we call President Hinkley. What an exceptional man, this Prophet dear!

President Hinckley created the ultimate monuments on the Mississppi and Missouri. The Nauvoo and Winter Quarter's temples surround the great state of Iowa. Thank you President Hinckley!

We mourn with you at this sad, yet happy time. Knowing how Pres. Hinckley will be missed is so sad, but also knowing that he is with Sis. Hinckley makes us feel some comfort at this hard time. My 6 year old son asked if we could go to his grave when summer comes and say goodbye. So sweet! Our hearts go out to you Hinckley Family.

Thank you dear Prophet.
We will Carry On.
DallinBN | 2:00 p.m. Jan. 28, 2008
As he said of President Howard W. Hunter: "A majestic tree in the forest has fallen, leaving a place of emptiness. A great and quiet strength has departed from our midst."

He was a man of integrity and light with which he lived and influenced the world - for this those who knew him or of him loved him. We revered him as a prophet as we do 14 men before him. Now the mantle of the prophet falls upon another and we pray that President Monson will be strengthened.

The parting message of our dearly loved prophet, President Hinckley was always, God be with You 'til we meet again. God be with the Hinckley family and our church leaders.

I am so sad to hear of the passing of President Gordon B. Hinckley. Having been inactive for 30
+ years , I have become an active member since Dec. 2007 , and have since been ordained into the priesthood , and Babtised my three children , ages 8 - 9 - and 10. I am so grateful for the Gospel, and the oportunnity to have been an active member since President Hinckley has presided over the Church.
I know President Hinckley is watching over us from the kingdom of Heaven May he rest in peace.

President Hickley's seemingly endless energy and focus was amazing. His fantastic accomplishments attest to this, while he worked hard to the end. I don't know how he did all that he did! His optimism was infectious and encouraging. His gratitude and support to women was welcomed and uplifting. My thoughts and condolenses are given to the family. I think they are lucky indeed to have such a legacy.
Blessed | 2:02 p.m. Jan. 28, 2008
Thank you Presiden Hinkley. When ever I heard him speak, he made me feel like I was worth so much and that I could do anything I wanted. I am so thankful for his life and his example. If I can even accomplish a fraction of what he did I will be happy. We will miss him deeply, but I feel at peace in knowing that his journey is not over.
Thank you President Hinkley. We love you.

Gordon B. Hinckley truely was a prophet of God and I testify of this, he had a way with words, he knew what people needed in this life, he was a truely humble servant of God, the armies of God will be rejoicing in heaven. I know if it wasn't for Gordon Hinckleys hard work then the world would be less righteous. Thank you for everything Gordon Hinckley a prophet and a friend, yet another wonderful chapter in the history of God's kingdom on earth.

You will be missed. We heard your words three weeks ago in our stake conference broadcast and thought you looked weaker, yet you served nobly till the end. What a great example you are and were. We can imagine the joyous reunion on the other side. We're sure your greatest fear was to become an invalid and be unable to serve. God granted your prayers to be useful to the end. We do love you.

Oh how my heartaches in losing President Hinckley even though he was 97 years I was hoping he would live long enough to see both of the new Temples in the Salt Lake area dedicated. He reminds me of my father (who passed away this last June). They both had a great sence of humor and both talked with their hands and so Christ-like. Knowing he is with the Lord and his Savior as well as his dear wife again makes it easier to accept. What a great leader of the Church and all that he did. Thank you President Hinckley.

Sad to see him gone. At the same time, I'm so happy for him to be able to be with his wife again.
Eichelberger family | 2:23 p.m. Jan. 28, 2008
The older I get the more I treasure the gift of the eternal family. My first reaction was what a glorious reunion he had with his precious wife....and how I wished I was there to document it. The glorious message of the gospel doesn't get any better than knowing that families CAN be an eternal unit, and that God lives and loves us. Now we have to turn to and harken to a NEW and LIVING prophet and give him the loyalty we gave to Pres. Hinkley. HURRAH FOR ISRAEL!
Blake | 2:25 p.m. Jan. 28, 2008

He interviewed me while on my mission, and I've always held him in my heart and a particularly gentle person who made the sincerest effort to make direct contact with individuals who came his way. I loved the man and will sorely miss him.
