I disagree with the assessment of Coach Rose when he says that New Mexico is a good team, particularly after winning in overtime to a Utah team that is going nowhere, at home in New Mexico. None of the MWC teams can be categorized as good teams at this point in the season. BYU cannot be a good team after going down to UNLV and losing by 29....come on!!! Shooting is a problem. You can't be casting up outside shots the way BYU does and have a good percentage. They must go inside first and go strong to the basket, and get to the free throw line, if nothing at all. The idea is to make defenders guard you, and if they continue to foul, then they will be sitting on the sidelines in foul trouble....that is how you get the leapers out of the game and make the opposing coach play his second line players....then you have a much better opportunity to win games. As I said before, the 'Y' must hold home court (win 'em all) and start playing it smarter on the road....like go inside, then outside. Come on Cougars!!!

I agree with BYU Fan. With our inconsistent outside shooting, the offense must start from the inside with Plaisted. Drive to the bucket and make the opposing defense make a play. These home games against the MWC's below average foes are must wins if the Cougars want to get to the Big Dance this year. Memphis just won Gonzaga today to keep their home winning streak alive. Hopefully the Cougars will play smart- from the inside out, to continue their steak and their hopes for an NCAA Tourny bid.

RE: BYU Fan and AZ Cougar
What does it take to be a "good" team BYU Fan? Good teams win most of their games which is exactly what NM is doing. I guess we'll see just how bad they are today. BYU is an outside team this year like it or not. Plaisted and his subs are the only post players we have. Our shooters need to do better than 33% if anything will open up for Trent. BYU's season depends on whether our 3 point shooters pick it up or not. Watch Tavernari and the other forwards. Their strenghs aren't inside.
