If you aren't a hyper critical person and are generous enough to enjoy fantasy films, you will enjoy this film.

What do I mean by that?

Well, for one, Elvis gets interviewed in heaven by Ed Sullivan then slides over to heaven's stage to sing Howie Day's "Collide."

It's is cool though, again, assuming you can give a movie that license.

The darkened sets are reminiscent of a stage play, and the movie has that feel about it.

The lead actor is remarkable and sings all the Elvis songs himself. I'd very much like to see him act in a movie as a character other than Elvis.

This movie may have shots of the Book of Mormon in it, but it is clearly an attempt at a crossover movie and not targeted solely at the LDS market.

In terms of LDS Films, this is an original idea and much quirkier than stereotypical LDS Films: one I hope LDS film makers build on in future films.

Not being a huge fan of typical Mormon cinema, I was hesitant about this film. I was very surprised, however, to find that "Tears of a King" was a well-done, artistic film about the final days of Elvis Presley's life.

Matt Lewis, who plays Elvis, does a remarkable job of pulling you in and having sympathy for such an honorable, but tragic man.

All in all, a wonderful film and it has restored my faith in films made by LDS people. Only this and "The Best Two Years" have truly pulled me into a story. I commend the filmmakers for producing quality entertainment.

what happened to this movie? I visited utah september 2008, no-one seemed to know anything about it. I even got someone to phone the number for the producer. He did not live there but the guy who did was very interested to know where he was. :) I would pay the world for this movie/dvd. I have listened to Matt Lewis in the Vegas show, Legends in Concert. He is PRIMO. Elvis would be so proud of him, I reckon. :) If anyone has any news, please post. Thank you.

I have done a lot of research regarding this movie and what ive heard it has had to be withdrawn for legal resons to do with copyright breachments in the USA, the movie was completed and previewed and then shelved and no new release date is to be given, I would love to be wrong as it looks a very intresting movie, hope this helps.

ok, so the movie could have been shelved. How about the songs? I loved the promo song, which I don't think is the theme song. Does anyone know how I can get hold of the music?
