Hi, I'd like to comment on this sentence: "The steepest face is 74
degrees." This should say "the steepest face is a 74% slope". 45
degrees = 100% slope.
Since expert skiers can ski or snowboard
chutes steeper than 45 degrees, it is more common to measure ski runs in
degrees.
I measured the steepest pitch of the Wildflower downhill at
33 degrees earlier this year, taking the average of multiple measurements with a
Life Link inclinometer.
I snowboarded off the summit of Mt Ogden to
the east last Friday, and the steepest parts were 45 degrees (measured). Cheers! Bill
