Coach Sloan knows that CJ Miles will eventually be a decent NBA player, but at this point, the experience and ability to shoot from the 3 point, makes Korber more valuable NOW. The other guard Brewer is a plus on creating confussion on the other teams, this ability is vital now too, so CJ will have to wait again, and again, the problem is that a talented player is also on the back burner, Morris Almond, maybe the most talented of them all. A trade seems to be on the making to aliviate thi8sm pproblem, than most will love to have.

Wish the Jazz could land Bogut. He would bring a better defender and more toughness than Memo.

I agree with the above posts. If you have too many players at the same position (the 2) why not trade one and get something in return that you need (and I think you have to look at getting a draft pick as an option). This may impact team chemistry as well. If guys know who's going to play at what spot then they can start gelling. Here is hoping the Jazz continue their winning ways tonight and then take their positive vibes on the road to Denver.

The Jazz need to grab a physical, defensive-minded center, but wanting Bogut over Okur isn't the right answer. Yeah, Bogut is young, but Okur is the supremely talented player.
Everyone says Almond may the most talented, but he is at least a year away from strongly contributing. The Jazz bench is talented and young--question is, will the team show up to the form they were last year?

Cool yourselves for the time being fans. What kind of a big do you in all reality think we can get for our young players at the 2 or 3? Things will work out via trade or free agent eventually but I don't see anything we would want or can get that will be a fix right now. Patience always pays off if you can show it. We are very talented, but very young also. Just look at where we were 3 or 4 years ago, a drastic change. We are not going to win an NBA championship this year and maybe not next, but LOOK OUT after that. Go Jazz
Patience?!?!?! | 7:00 p.m. Jan. 14, 2008
Patience didn't pay off so well in the Stockton/Malone era, there is no reason to think it will now, The teams that win are the ones that are willing to make the big trades, Jazz need to improve now...if they have don't make the playoffs this year, and at least to round 2 it will be very hard to resign Williams, He's a winner and will want to play for one.

If the Jazz havet he money, Williams isn't going anywhere. Money is the motivator!

Patience is a little off base. There are only 2 teams in the past 10 years that won the title by adding a big name by free agency or trade, Miami (Shaq: good luck landing the most dominant player in the league--he obviously isn't now, but was at the time) and Detroit (Rasheed Wallace, but Detroit already had a good strong nucleus). Other winners were the Spurs (built through the draft: Duncan, Ginobli, Parker) Lakers (Kobe draft, and 4 years after Shaq arrived via free agency) It takes patience. And, Jordan is what killed the Jazz during Stockton to Malone, not patience.
Patience?!?! | 10:08 p.m. Jan. 14, 2008
Again, Kobe was not drafted by the lakers, they traded for him, he was drafted by the Hornets. Every team gets a good nucleus and needs to make trades to improve apon the team, It's not always big names by the way, Im not saying the jazz need big names or trades (Im veiwing Free agency in the same light for this converstation), alot of times it's role players..ala Micheal Finley for the spurs the last time around, good teams don't wait it out, they make moves when the have a base talent, which the jazz have, We need an enforcer.. a big body to bang down low on the defensive end during rough stretches, give 5 fouls and sit down, make teams think twice before comming down the lane, think Antione carr. Jazz have a big team guard line so they can be physical, we lack that down on the block.

Memo the reason we made it to the western finals last year & he'll be the reason we'll make it this year. Bogut for Memo???? That's CRAZY!!!
Bogut-Memo | 11:39 p.m. Jan. 14, 2008
I think what it would come down to is what type of center do you want-or what we need? Memo does things Bogut never will be able to-Bogut will be a pretty good center in the post, and do things Memo cant seem to do. Niether will be superstars but good at what they do. So ask yourselves what type of center do we need for this team to be good on both ends of the floor.
Bogut vs memo | 12:36 a.m. Jan. 15, 2008
Bogut is better at EVERYTHING except shooting the 3's. Better FG%, better post player, better defender, better passer, better shot blocker... look at their stats, Bogut is tied or better in EVERYTHING. We are talking about the center position. Not a 7 foot 3pt shooter.
Trade Miles for a Backup Point | 12:55 a.m. Jan. 15, 2008
Rather than have a logjam at the 2 and 3, why not trade CJ Miles (since we won't have the money to keep him after this season anyway) and get a backup point guard that can take Hart's minutes right now. Since Sloan refuses to play Price behind Williams. All the talk about trading for a center is ridiculous, all of the centers that are worth anything are worth way more than what the Jazz have to offer. Some options that are an upgrade from Hart would be Chris Duhon, Earl Watson and Antonio Daniels.

Amen to the Trade Miles for a Backup Point comment. That is exactly what they should do. Or better yet, trade (gasp...) Harpring? He is old/slow/injured constantly and cant do that much anymore. Great guy, but this is business right?
trade Harpring? | 8:54 a.m. Jan. 15, 2008
At this stage of his career, with his health problems, contract, what do you think you could get for him and what team would take the gamble on him?
Anonymous | 10:47 a.m. Jan. 15, 2008
good point .... it's not like Harpring has an expiring contract to attract other teams
